As part of their latest financial results, Capcom has updated their list of Platinum titles, games that have sold over one million copies, including more up-to-date figures which show that Devil May Cry 5 is now the highest selling game in the DMC franchise.
The fifth entry has sold 3.1 million copies according to Capcom, just about overtaking Devil May Cry 4, which previously held the franchise record at 3 million.
Monster Hunter World continues to be Capcom's best selling game with sales at 14.9 million units, and a further 3.2 million sales of Monster Hunter World: Iceborn. Resident Evil then makes up spots 2-4, with Resident Evil 5 in number two with 7.6 million, followed by Resident Evil 6 on 7.4 million and Resident Evil 7 with 7 million.
A well-deserved success, even if I wasn't a fan of V. His playstyle is just frustrating, getting Shadow to hit things from a distance is so annoying, and the need to constantly execute weakened enemies gets old very fast. I know there's a reason in terms of lore as to why he can't just outright kill enemies (unless Nightmare has been summoned), but he's just not fun for me to use.
If only they would make Vergil playable, they just need to do what they did for him with DMC 4 SE.
@1 Plus with the switch version of DMC3 they are adding Co-op play in Bloody Palace so adding Vergil to 5 along with Coop Bloody palace for a DMC5 Special edition would be awesome.

The Devil May Cry 5 numbers a well deserved, as far as we're concerned, with the game winning our 2019 Game of the Year award. If you're thinking about picking it up, you can check out our review here.
