Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Gets Gloomy New Screens

Konami has released some more dark and foreboding shots from forthcoming Castlevania franchise reboot, Lords of Shadow.

The eight screens show plenty of ghoulish, goblin like minions, a strange, mossy tree/rock monster and the good old faithful giant spider, all rendered in varying shades of brown and grey.

That said, it's good to see that the same classic whippy-chain action from the original 2D platform classic appears to be intact.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is being developed by Madrid-based company Mercury Stream and is also benefitting from input provided by MGS-maker Kojima Productions.

The game is due for release later in the year. For now though, feast your peepers on the eight shots in our Lords of Shadow gallery.

  • Games looking mighty good visually and with Kojima on the production and directing side of things i have no doubts it will play as good as it looks.
  • nice leap to 3D!
  • I hope this game is going to actually be good, unlike the last few. I can always hope!
  • Nice to hear some more info. :) I'm interested in this game.
  • Yeah...well, as long it's not a GOW clone - because I think we'd all like Castlevania to stand out on its own.
  • Mmm, doesn't fell Castlevania at all. More close to GoW or Dante's Inferno.
  • I'm definitely looking forward to it!
  • Can't wait for this.
  • Looks good, I'll be keeping an eye out
  • I'd be more excited for a 2D Castlevania coming to PS3 with high-res artwork instead. But I'll still probably give this a try.
  • As a child of the 80's and a big Konami Fan I'm rooting for this game. I can't wait.
  • I was looking forward to 2D graphic, itll be like GOW now, it should have been 2D (like the Graphics of Cross edge)
  • I want Castlevania, not Castlevania of War A shame they had to ditch IGA (and Yamane on soundtrack) on this project, it's lost all CV feeling. But we'll see I guess...
