Capcom has unveiled its roadmap of free content coming to Monster Hunter World Iceborne for the first half of this year, including new monster variants, new monsters, events and more.

The roadmap, which we've posted below, confirms that events will kick off with the game celebrating its second anniversary with a celebration event later this week on the 23rd January through until February 13th - the Grand Appreciation Fest if you're an Iceborne owner, or the return of the Asteria Fest if you don't. February will see several more event quests, that promise high master rank point gains, high encounter rates for gold crown monsters and more.

March will see the next Major Title Update, which will be headlined by two new variant monsters for players to hunt, then April's update will bring new Arch tempered and Master Rank versions of existing monsters to the game. April will also see content updates for the PC version of the game sync up with consoles. Finally, May will see the return of a "fan favourite" monster, although Capcom for now are remaining tight lipped on what exactly that is.

More updates are planned beyond this point, with more monsters and updates promised from June onwards, but more information on those will be released closer to the time. It's certainly a lot to be getting on with for Monster Hunter World players, with the game recently celebrating shipping 15 million copies. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
