Sony has announced that Detroit: Become Human has replaced PES 2019 for July's PlayStation Plus line-up. Not only will Quantic Dream's choice-driven sci-fi android adventure be available alongside OutRun-inspired arcade racer Horizon Chase Turbo, but it'll be the Digital Deluxe Edition.

That means you'll also get a copy of Heavy Rain for PS4 as part of the deal, so not only do you get Detroit: Become Human as part of July's PlayStation Plus picks (available from today), but you're getting an extra full game on top of that. Score! (Heavy Rain is unavailable in Bahrain, Lebanon, Oman Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and is replaced by Beyond Two Souls).

Detroit: Become Human is set in 2036 and charts the different journeys taken by three android characters, as they come to terms with their roles within a society that primarily sees them as a commodity. It's good! You can check out our review here. (Detroit: Become Human is replacedd by PlayLink game Hidden Agenda in Kuwait).

Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 will no longer be part of PlayStation Plus for July. Detroit: Become Human and Horizon Chase Turbo are both available via PS Plus now until 5th August.

  • Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  • Positive change, I've definitely been wanting to play this. I know PES gets high marks as a game, just not my cup of tea.
  • Awesome,I’ve been wanting to try this out!
  • I bought the digital deluxe very recently when it was on sale for $12 and don't regret it knowing it's going to be on Plus. If anyone played Beyond Two Souls from when it was on Plus, I definitely thought that Detroit and Heavy Rain were superior Quantic Dream titles and I'm so excited many more people will get to experience them. I'm very glad there was an outcry to cause this change in the lineup, this has given me faith in the future of having only 2 free titles per month.
  • Sucks for the people into that but me being insanely uninterested in sports games and having played all of QD's games I'm super down to not have to pay for Detroit.
  • Finally, a month of games that I've never bought but always wanted to try. Looks like they're both a relatively easy Platinum, too.
  • I literally just bought this game! Oh well, I was less interested in a sports game. Sorry for those that were looking forward to playing sports.
  • Como serta la reconcha de tu madre!
  • Nice save, Sony.
  • Mr. Walker, You may want to spell-check your headlines before posting.
  • Destroit. Never heard of it....
  • Best decision of the year. Sports games are not everyone's cup of rea.
  • Awesome. I’ve been wanting to play this game & now I can try it out. Also, it’s better than a cheap soccer game
  • #9 deliberate Soccer ref? If so, brilliant! I wanted to try the Soccer, but oh well. Still digesting NBA 2K19 (Got it for $2.99) & '19 The Show. Saw a lot of my PSN buds play Detroit, now i get to. Really stoked for that racer.
  • Not complaining, but ... why? What happened in the week between announcement and now? I assume they don't negotiate the deals the day prior either. Strange ...
  • I'm very happy that Sony dumped that shitty football game and replaced it with one I've been hankering after for ages :).
  • Would have enjoyed pes but this looks like a decent game and it only came out last year so wasn’t expecting so soon on ps plus
  • For anyone that hasn‘t played Detroit, get it played! It is a great game!
  • I guess PlayStation heard our voice!
  • This is a very welcome change, sports games are very genre specific and not my cup of tea at all. We should be getting quality titles in the plus service and this more than makes up for it.
  • Fuck and I just spent 20 dollars on that mother fucker
  • lol Just the other day I was wondering if they would make Become Human a freebie one day. Little did I know it was literally one day away.
  • @Comment #6 by Frankie Godskin Detroit Become Human isn't the easiest platinum trophy but it is worth playing the different scenarios through chapter select to clean up missed trophies.
  • @23 Detroit is a super easy platinum. What’s hard about it?? It’s rated 2/10 difficulty.
  • you just have to have patience, and this is a doable platinum.. Just make sure that you pay specific attention to who is alive who is dead and what to do and make sure you follow guides. Its not that hard, it can become a little grindy just making sure you meet certain things. but its not that hard..
  • @25 it’s not hard in the slightest haha. It’s rated 2/10 difficulty for a reason lol.
  • FU $ONY!!! First you screw over many who pre-ordered Detroit, as they got Heavy Rain as a bonus, then 2 months later, you give it away on PS+, then you givce this one away too. Well that's it. No more early $ from me. I wil just wait for $ony Published Games to come on PS+. At least PES would of been a title I didn't own. They should be forced to give a store discount if we already own a title that's on PS+ (Would have 2 own B4 it was announced).
  • @27 wahhwahh wahh
  • @27 So it's Sony's fault that you bought a game you wanted?
  • While i'm personally very happy with the change to Detroit, having never played it yet and don't like football, I can understand some of @27's frustration. To the few that were actually happy to see PES 2019 as the free game, and then suddenly swapped to a game a lot of people have already purchased is a bit of a kick in the balls. It would've been a lot fairer since the football was already teased, to give players the choice between the 2 games.
  • PES was seen as being OFF-SIDED by VAR and was denied the goal. LOL...
  • .. also, if I may add - Sony missed an opportunity to woo in subscribers who missed having 4 games per month. Much like a sweetener, and just kept PES as planned and ADDED Detroit in the line-up for 3 games... even for just this once... They could have been the ultimate hero-boss in this case.
  • @1... I love soccer so I was disappointed too. I also already own heavy rain and I have Detroit in plastic still. This forced me to finally play Detroit which I am in love with so far. Too bad my brand new copy just lost all its value.
