Activision revealed during a recent earnings call that the next Call of Duty game will be revealed sometime during this second quarter which ends on 30th June.

During the call Activisions COO Coddy Johnson stated that the team needs to do even more to maintain the breadth of its Call of Duty player base beyond the launch quarters. This then led to Johnson talking about what the team has in store for Call of Duty at the moment.

"The Call of Duty team is hard at work on that for this fall's big content release, excitement for which is incredibly high around the organisation. We expect that both the launch and the post launch will bring game-changing experiences to our fans."

As for the next Call of Duty, Johnson then confirmed that it will be officially announced sometime before the end of the second quarter. That means that fans can expect to see something happen between now and 30th June, whether this means an announcement will be made at E3 or during some other show is a little up in the air.

It's currently being speculated that the next Call of Duty will be Modern Warfare 4 and that it will also feature a traditional campaign unlike Black Ops 4, which was purely an online multiplayer game. Time will tell whether these rumours are indeed true.

  • I would rather see a remaster of Modern Warfare 2.
  • If they bundle MW2 remaster with this one I may be suckered to get it. I waited patiently for half off for standalone MW remaster, but sequel is my single most fav campaign from all CoDs I played to date...
  • Snore of Duty.
