Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 shipped without a single-player campaign last year, much to the chagrin of fans who rather liked the story-driven bit of CoD. As such, it was a bit of a controversial move for Treyarch to nix the campaign, but the addition of Blackout battle royale saw the game performing very well, both commercially and critically.
Fans of the CoD campaign will be happy to learn that 2019's Call of Duty will see the return of the staple single-player, which was absent from Black Ops 4 for the first time in the series' history. Activision President Rob Kostich confirmed that single-player will be back, alongside the usual multiplayer modes and a "new" co-op mode.
Infinity Ward is on development duties for this year's Call of Duty, having previously released Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare back in 2016, but what the studio has up its sleeve is currently under wraps. Modern Warfare 4, anyone?
