We Happy Few is almost upon us, and as next month's release date looms, Compulsion Games and Gearbox have released a new trailer, offering a 101 on how to live the most Joyful life you can while among the drug-addled residents of Wellington Wells. It's the ABCs of Happiness.
When you're walking the cobbles of We Happy Few's retrofuturistic 1960s English town, attempting to unravel the mystery at its dark heart, you'll need to blend in, unless you want the Bobbies beating on your head with their truncheons. Does that mean you'll take your Joy and conform? Or will you fight the authority and Uncle Jack?
A story-driven adventure centred around the interwoven narratives of Arthur, Sally and Ollie, We Happy Few will see you fighting to overcome a town in denial, when it launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 10th August. Check out our latest gameplay preview here to find out more.
The more I see of this, the more it looks like an even more twisted and scary version of George Orwell's seminal "1984". I' am going to get this at some point but it may have to wait a month or so, because I'm low on funds at the moment and my backlog is going to get ridiculous once September rolls round.
