Yes, we've been going pretty hard on the Assassin's Creed Origins videos of late, but with the series taking a year out, the game heralding an array of changes to the formula and the release date looming large on the horizon, it's hard for us not to get just a little bit excited.

Going big on the RPG elements and the dynamism of its open-world, it's difficult not to see Origins as something of a reinvention for Assassin's Creed, but that's not entirely the case, according to Game Director Ashraf Ismail. There's a lot of new stuff, for sure, but there are aspects of AC that are never going to change.

We discussed all of this with Ismail, while finding out other nuggets of information on taming hippos, filling the biggest Assassin's Creed map with meaningful content, and loads more. Check out our full interview below. Assassin's Creed Origins launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 27th October.
