Agents of Mayhem is a spin-off of Saints Row, and as such, both games share a lot of common DNA. Both are open-world, both like purple, both have sweary humour by the bucketload and both revel in wanton destruction and balls-out action.
Unlike Saints Row, however, AoM is almost entirely focused on its core shooter gameplay, bolstering its brash bullets and bombs madness with a few layers of RPG stuff. Does the combination make for something fresh and interesting, though, or is Volition's game all too shallow?
