Serial Cleaner is a 1970s-style stealth game that looks a bit like a less violent Hotline Miami, and features 10 bonus levels inspired by classic 70s movies like Alien, Enter the Dragon and Taxi Driver. These will be in addition to the game's full story mode.

In Serial Cleaner, you'll adopt the role of the eponymous Cleaner, tackling fast-paced challenges as you clean up murder scenes while avoiding the attention of 'The Heat'. The game will also feature 20 "nail-bitingly hard" challenge mode levels to complete, with their own online leaderboards.

The game also boasts a neat twist in using real-time data to modify levels according to the time of day that you're playing, so if you're enjoying Serial Cleaner at night, you can use the cover of darkness. Conversely, playing in the daytime will give you better visibility, as you take on various enemy types and a range of different challenges.

Serial Cleaner will be heading to PlayStation 4 on 11th July for $14.99/£11.99, with 20% off for PlayStation Plus members when you pre-order via the PS Store for $11.99/£9.59. Check out the announcement trailer below.

  • Sounds like the undertitle of a hypothetical Joe Dirt 3 that will hopefully never exist lest humanity suffer eternal damnation.
