Deep Silver and developer Red Thread have released a new Dreamfall Chapters trailer, running you through the story so far to get you duly caught up before the game launches next week. In the video, you'll be introduced to Dreamfall's two heroes, Zoë and Kian, whose adventures in the previous game are neatly summarised.

"Beside the look back, the video will also be featured in the upcoming game as introduction to the two diverse worlds that build the foundation of the The Longest Journey saga," the press release reads. "Dreamfall Chapters is a mature, emotional, dark, magical and heart-breaking adventure that will take players by surprise."

A 3D adventure set across two different worlds - a cyberpunk futuristic one and a magical fantasy realm - Dreamfall Chapters will be heading to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 5th May with a number of visual enhancements and an expanded, improved in-game soundtrack. Catch up with the story in the trailer below.

  • That's one awkward looking blanket... is an alien about to burst out of her chest or something? The concept reminds me of Bruce Willis/Rosamund Pike's "Surrogates" movie... I like these kind of plots, I hope they do it right considering the graphics could have been done better for next gen... It's not as artsy as Life Is Strange... not realistic either. This is something we'd expect on a PS3/XB360 though...
  • "...will be heading to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 5th May with a number of visual enhancements and an expanded, improved in-game soundtrack." So it's not finish yet then... they've admitted that the game needed "visual enhancements"... it must have been criticised hard... having finished the video, it looks like the story will evolve into something scattered in it's plot... "episodic" isn't mentioned but I have this feeling it will be... I kinda lost interest, shame...
  • It is episodic but all the episodes are already finished. It was a kickstarter PC game that is now getting a console port. And it was bassicly made to finish the story started in; The Longest Journey, a old point and click adventure (2000) and Dreamfall (2006). So worth looking into if your into the adventure games of old.
  • @2 or maybe it's their way of saying improved visuals since it's a remaster.
  • I'm very intererested but the only problem I have with it, the same as Syberia 3, is that I don't want to jump into the last game of a series. I have to play the others first but only on PC, and I think the Wii? Hahaha. But interesting series like these coming to consoles I feel should work a remaster collection first or something
  • #3 #4 that explains it then, thanks!... I'll keep an eye on it then... it will be on my radar...
  • @2 I think it will be released complete on PS4, I remember them saying that the game comes out with the last episode included.
