Indie developer Playtonic Games is releasing the spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, the equally hyphenated Yooka-Laylee, in April this year. We recently got the chance to get some hands-on with the game and we really, really enjoyed what we saw.
If you prefer your previews in a less verbal and more written capacity, you can check out our extensive preview here. Bear in mind that we titled this preview 'Yooka-Laylee is the kick up the arse the 3D platform genre needs, so that should give you an indication of how we felt about it.

Yooka-Laylee is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on 11th April 2017, with a Nintendo Switch version to follow.
