Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered now features supply drops as part of the recently released December Update, which has also brought six additional multiplayer maps to the game - Bloc, Countdown, Pipeline, Showdown, Strike, and Wet Work - as well as Gun Game and Hardpoint multiplayer modes. Previously PC-only festive-themed map Winter Crash has also been added, marking its console debut.

Like Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3 and Infinite Warfare, supply drops in Modern Warfare Remastered contain a number of cosmetic items and although you can purchase them as microtransactions using Call of Duty Points bought with real cash, you can also earn supply drops by completing challenges and accumulating Depot Credits.

Modern Warfare Remastered's December Update has also brought with it a version of Infinite Warfare's Salvage, known as 'Parts'. Like Salvage, Parts can also be used to craft items found in supply drops, while the current loot drop is titled 'Operation Arctic Wolf', introducing new weapon camos, emblems, calling cards, outfits, reticles and melee weapons like a shovel. It also adds female soldiers to multiplayer.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is a game we want players to be engaged in for a long time. We're excited to support this great game with new content, beginning today with a ton of new customisation items that allow for a level of personalisation that wasn't possible in the original release in 2007," said MW Remastered dev Raven Software.

"Personalisation is a big part of Call of Duty and something we've done in the series for a while now that fans really enjoy. But of course, we've done it very carefully as our highest priority is to retain the balance, aesthetics and player silhouettes in the game."

  • if you want more people sell it by itself duhhh
  • People wouldn't be as mad if, you know, this was included in the game from the beginning. I get it's only cosmetics, but the supply drop outrage could've been avoided if you could get this stuff without the "parts" or whatever it's called
  • sad there are microtransactions on the remaster. still may get it when it goes stand alone (if ever). I plan on playing Infinite when it goes free for 5 days. hopefully its campaign too.
  • They even fucked up this game with the supply drop bullshit. Just wow lol
  • Heres a gentle reminder for Activision of what made cod 4 so good.....people played the game extensively to UNLOCK camos as a showing point of their skills and dedication. I.e gold camo for snipers werent easy to obtain. Now its all being ripped away and replaced with money grabbing bullshit. I was going to buy this when it eventually sells solo but they can fuck right off now
  • @#3 you only get 1st 2 campaign missions during the free trial. & MWR will be sold separately soon enough it's what Cod always do. Say an item can only be obtained through pre-order or exclusive edition then they give it to everyone anyway, look at the Terminal bonus map. As for supply drops in MWR as long as they don't add new weapons and keep it Purley cosmetic I think it's good for them game if people care about personalization it just adds that aspect to a great game.
