Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered now features supply drops as part of the recently released December Update, which has also brought six additional multiplayer maps to the game - Bloc, Countdown, Pipeline, Showdown, Strike, and Wet Work - as well as Gun Game and Hardpoint multiplayer modes. Previously PC-only festive-themed map Winter Crash has also been added, marking its console debut.
Like Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3 and Infinite Warfare, supply drops in Modern Warfare Remastered contain a number of cosmetic items and although you can purchase them as microtransactions using Call of Duty Points bought with real cash, you can also earn supply drops by completing challenges and accumulating Depot Credits.
Modern Warfare Remastered's December Update has also brought with it a version of Infinite Warfare's Salvage, known as 'Parts'. Like Salvage, Parts can also be used to craft items found in supply drops, while the current loot drop is titled 'Operation Arctic Wolf', introducing new weapon camos, emblems, calling cards, outfits, reticles and melee weapons like a shovel. It also adds female soldiers to multiplayer.
"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is a game we want players to be engaged in for a long time. We're excited to support this great game with new content, beginning today with a ton of new customisation items that allow for a level of personalisation that wasn't possible in the original release in 2007," said MW Remastered dev Raven Software.
"Personalisation is a big part of Call of Duty and something we've done in the series for a while now that fans really enjoy. But of course, we've done it very carefully as our highest priority is to retain the balance, aesthetics and player silhouettes in the game."
