Battleborn will be getting its first story DLC on October 13th, Gearbox announced today.

The newest Battleborn hero - Ernest - is also out today, you can read more about him here.

'Attikus and the Thrall Rebellion' is the name of DLC pack, and according to Gearbox it'll let you "relive the days of Attikus leading the Thrall rebellion in the Jennerit slums".

The content will set you back £3.99 if you buy it as a standalone - otherwise it'll come as part of the £15.99 Season Pass.

Then, later this autumn, Battleborn will receive 'Toby's Friendship Raid' DLC. Through the winter, we can also expect three more story packs, too.

Gearbox explains that each of these missions is designed to be 'highly replayable' (think Destiny strikes) and will give more colour to the lore of each hero.

If that wasn't enough to enthuse you about the game (again), then Gearbox has also promised that three more heroes are due to land soon, and a new 'Face Off' PvP mode is due to land on the same date as 'Attikus and the Thrall Rebellion' - October 13th.

Gearbox describes Face Off as such:

"Each team must coordinate between defense and offense to kill Varelsi, collect their masks and deposit them for points. The first team to 500 points wins. Of course killing Varelsi makes them mad – Be ready for intense, multi-phase battles! Steal masks from enemy players and be quick to pick up masks your teammates left behind."

Will this new content convince you to go back to the game if you're a lapsed player?
