Footage From Desilets' Unreleased THQ Game, 1666: Amsterdam, Emerges

Footage from 1666: Amsterdam has found its way online, following the rights to the game recently returning to Creative Director, Patrice Désilets. And coming from the man behind Assassin's Creed, it unsurprisingly looks a lot like its spiritual forebear.

However, unlike Assassin's Creed, 1666: Amsterdam would have cast you as a protagonist able to wield black magic, controlling ravens and black cats. "Be worse than the devil" was apparently the game's theme, and this footage shows the a 2-year build of the game running in real-time.

1666: Amsterdam was originally intended to launch for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and had THQ and Désilets' studio managed to last long enough to see the game through to fruition, it might have ended up releasing for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. What will become of 1666: Amsterdam now, however, remains up in the air. Take a look at the footage below.

  • looks nice
  • i would probably get it, if they decided to finish it sounds like it'd be a decent game
  • This looks like it could have been good. I wonder if since he has the rights again that it will be released in the future.
  • I more and more hate it that THQ closed down as so many great studio,s ofcourse, but man what a shame this game never been finished and released. Now all i can do is hope they somehow still finish this, but not got much hope tho.
