Footage from 1666: Amsterdam has found its way online, following the rights to the game recently returning to Creative Director, Patrice Désilets. And coming from the man behind Assassin's Creed, it unsurprisingly looks a lot like its spiritual forebear.
However, unlike Assassin's Creed, 1666: Amsterdam would have cast you as a protagonist able to wield black magic, controlling ravens and black cats. "Be worse than the devil" was apparently the game's theme, and this footage shows the a 2-year build of the game running in real-time.
1666: Amsterdam was originally intended to launch for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and had THQ and Désilets' studio managed to last long enough to see the game through to fruition, it might have ended up releasing for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. What will become of 1666: Amsterdam now, however, remains up in the air. Take a look at the footage below.
