Despite being universally panned, it's not over for Rambo: The Video Game just yet, as this week will see a free DLC update launching for the game, more than two years after its original release for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It's called 'Baker Team' and adds an original story with new missions in which Rambo and co. venture deep into Viet Cong territory.

Charting John Rambo's service as a Green Beret during the Vietnam War, the free Baker Team DLC teams the eponymous super soldier with Barry, Messner and Danforth on a covert mission, with three new on-rails shooty missions, the ability to upgrade your Rambo to level 25, a new John Rambo difficulty setting with x1.5 multiplier, five new weapons (the CAR15, MP44, SPAS12, XM79 and PPSH41) unlocked through completion of five new Trautman Challenges, five new perks and eight new trophies to earn.

Rambo: The Video Game's free Baker Team DLC will be coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC from tomorrow (19th April). Check out some screenshots from the upcoming add-on content below.

  • :yawn.
  • Even though this game looks to be the equivalent of a school bus fire, you have to give it up for them releasing a rather large chunk of free DLC to the -7 people that have bought and/or played this.
  • wtf lol
  • They could have put their effort and money/resources into making a new game, this just seems like a waste of time on their part.
  • "This is great news!" - nobody ever.
  • It's probably just content they cut from the game in the first place to sell later on, I can't see anybody being that moronic to spend money developing something for a game that has been slated by literally everybody and sold less than the Zune.
  • @2 you are DEAD WRONG!!! It was five people not seven!!
  • If I'm not mistaken, this DLC trophy list was added to the game years ago, but never released, meaning this has been an unobtainable 100% title. While it may be shit, I'm sure a number of people will be pleased that it is being released (free, to boot), so that they aren't stuck with a list that can't be completed. I actually might pick this up now.
  • As I said on Twitter earlier, they have to have done this just to piss off trophy hunters. What other reason could there be for releasing DLC for a game nobody was playing 2 months after it released, let alone 2 years?!
  • Good to see that they are finally releasing it. If they have patch the reload glitch I won't even bother attempting John Rambo difficulty, but nice to know the 100% will actually be obtainable.
  • I have one question... WHY?
  • @11 For the trophy hunters. As discdocx said, the DLC listing was released ages ago, so the 100% has been unattainable. This news story is totally pertinent to playstationTROPHIES.org, lol
  • @9 - no, the DLC was added to the trophy list ages ago. It has been on profiles as an incomplete for months now (I believe it was added June or July 2015). So if anything, this will make trophy hunters happy, especially if they are completionists, and they are giving it away free. While you could make an argument it should never exist to begin with, I'm not sure why anyone would be pissed now?
  • Oh cool!Cannot wait to go back to this masterpiece!...oh..sorry,wrong game.
  • OH LMAO! I remember reading about this DLC way back. I thought this is a different one. Can't believe they didn't release it sooner.
  • I think despite everything. Its nice that they release the DLC after all this time, and even better Free.
  • This game looks like a PS2 game and probably plays like a NES game. Wow. Concentrated hot garbage... No thanks.
  • I want the Game of the Year edition.
  • This is going to be game of the year. I can't wait for the HD Remake.
  • So when is the HD version for PS4 coming.
  • Yay, I can have 100% now!!
  • Now you have to play it on stream. No excuses.
  • Full game will probably now rock up on plus next month.
  • This looks like a "Bargin Bin" game. I don't mean INSIDE the "Bargin Bin", either. I mean this is the kind of game you find UNDER the "Bargin Bin", helping to prop it up and keep it level.
  • Random...lol
