Rumour: Just Cause 3 Screenshots Leak

Screenshots are circulating from what is supposedly a debug build of Just Cause 3, Avalanche’s long-rumoured to be in development open-world title.

The screenshots were dug up by the Xbox-Underground forum. The images are covered in watermarks, but clearly visible are images suggesting that the game will feature microtransactions.

According to “a source close to the project”, the image shows an in-game Black Market that lets players buy in-game items. The source adds that a free-to-play version was planned for PC, but the idea was eventually ditched.

There is no official information on the game. Just Cause 3 remains unannounced.

  • Maybe it's just me, but microtransactions leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
  • My first thought was Mad Max actually
  • Yeah, I'm thinking Mad Max here with the armor he's wearing in the second screenshot. Would be happy with either, though!!
  • microtransa- and you lost me. That idea is ruining gaming.

  • Please be for PS3
  • They did announce Mad Max, though this does no look like it to me (military presence is non existent in universe...). Whatever it is, it has ways to go and for all we know these micro transactions might have been from the free to play title they were thinking about.... In other words, nothing to see here really IMO.
  • Yeah, this might be Just Cause, but it doesn't look like Rico "Mr. Scorpion" to me. and i don't know how I feel about playing a new character. Also i don't see any Grapple Hook contraption, I'm sceptical about this.
  • Gotta be Just Cause because the first picture shows faction troops... I've recently just finished JC2 and upon seeing this pic, it hit me right away that it's JC3. Mad Max is post apocalyptic so nice cars don't apply...
  • Please please please, still love JC2 on PC....
  • Why do people get so upset about microtransactions? Nobody is twisting your arm to pay for anything. I loved JC2 a hell lot more than GTA4 (back in those days) so really looking forward to the next one.
  • @11 I'm guessing it's because it limits your gameplay. It isn't like DLC to where it adds extra, micro transactions just limits how you'll play. If you got money, then you'll be able to have a great experience, if you don't, then you'll have a simple slow experience. But there has been some games that force you wait hours to continue playing unless you buy micro transactions to play whenever. But that's probably not the case here.
  • i don't think that its micro-transactions it doesn't show real money symbol but a in-game one, so maybe like just cause 2 buy stuff and its delivered to you??
  • oh baby... gimme some-a dat Just Cause 3... o.O
  • Micro Transactions or not, I don't see the grappling hook and parachute. So not interested. The grappling hook shenanigans are like 80% of the fun in Just Cause 2.
  • I'm not one to make a such a comment but its so blatant I cant resist... Penis in screenshsot #2 lol.
  • @12 you got the idea about microtransactions all wrong. MTs are usually bonus items and benefits you can buy to "enhance" your playing experience. MTs are NEVER required to play a game normally. This isn't freemium we're talking about here. For example, MTs can apply to bonus vehicles, like in the screenshot above. Do you want that vehicle? Maybe. But do you NEED it? Absolutely not. No game with MTs has ever been a bad experience for me.
