Octodad: Dadliest Catch Squirms Onto PS4 Next Week

Richard Walker

Octodad: Dadliest Catch is finally wriggling onto PlayStation 4 next week, following a short delay from its originally mooted March 2014 release window.

You assume the role of a yellow octopus masquerading as a father in an everyday nuclear family, coordinating his eight squiggly tentacles in an effort to pass as human.

You'll be able to download Octodad: Dadliest Catch for PS4 on April 22nd in North America and April 23rd in Europe. It looks utterly nutty, as you can see for yourself in the trailer below.

  • YES!!! I have been waiting for this since launch :3
  • My 6 year old daughter loved the trailer. Shes now 7 but Ima have to get this for her. And me too...
  • I really wasn't going to get this, but the game looks too interesting not to demo if they have one. Hopefully they have a demo... would be silly (And is silly) when indie doesn't have demos...
  • They have a demo, I played one. Controls are really confusing. For example you control your legs by pulling L2 and left stick is your left foot and right stick is the other. If you want to move your arms you have to pull R2. I guess it gets easier as you play and get used to these controls, but in the beginning it is weird.
  • How much will this be?
  • @7 - $14.99 there will also be a 20% PS+ Discount at launch, so $11.99 if you have Plus.
  • @8 or simply wait to get it as a freebie with ps + in a few months.
  • @6 Saw on the blog they won't have a digital demo which is so lame... They only have retail demos or something
  • @19 Sony ran some PS4 promo events before the console released in the UK and had it to play along with Knack and some others. Controls will take some getting used to. Need to be very gentle with the analogue sticks to walk, or use them at full angle to kick or interact. Not sure if I have the patience for this to buy but still looks interesting.
  • Wait till its free with plus. The game, even when exploring is about 2 hours long max. The second playthrough is about 30 minutes. It is a fun game but there are going to be a lot of complaints about the lackluster controls and length. I would say its a 6/10 overall.
