SEGA Pulling Support For Aliens vs. Predator

With new DLC arriving for Aliens vs. Predator only last week, it seems like an unusual decision for SEGA to suddenly decide to remove future support for the title, but that's what a SEGA community administrator has posted on a SEGA forum regarding the matter.

Assistant Community Manager, Clumsyorchid writes: "I've just received a mail this AM regarding patches for the console versions of AVP and I regret to inform everyone that these have sadly been scrapped.

"I had previously made a claim that these were coming and at the time, this was very much on the table. For the console community, I apologise, as I know there are many features and updates that you'd like to see. I'll keep fighting internally for this to happen, but until I hear otherwise, there will not be a console patch for either Xbox or PS3."

The move to cancel patches and other updates for AvP has obviously upset the community who still play the game on a regular basis, and as such they're looking to rally support to voice their collective concern to SEGA. You can join in over at AvP.net.

  • Probably pulling out because the game is a load of crap & lets be honest the franchise is dead now
  • I dont have the game was goin to buy it on day 1 but was short on cash and then i read the reviews and was glad lol. All i kept hearing in forums and message boards was that there is hardly ever any1 online so i dont blame sega for not supporting it further.
  • can they un-patch it so I can get my platinum since no-one is online? :p
  • #3 Agreed
  • I was really excited about this game when I seen all the screen shots. until I played the demo and found out it was rubbish lol
  • Predators was good.
  • lets just say thank god for demos
  • I literally JUST bought this game. Waiting for it to arrive in my mailbox. never buying a sega game again.
  • There mnever said what the new patch was going to entale, I never knew the game needed patching again and what was the new patch meant to fix?
  • Forget the DLC, people would play it more if they fixed the match making, lobbies and match problems in general that plagued the game from day one.
  • i just bought the game 2 days ago.
  • O'great! that means the De-ranking glitch will never get fixed!!!
  • Hmm, I've always planned on going back and playing more (preferably after matchmaking was fixed), but this is probably gonna put a real hurt on the community. Shame, I really liked playing the game too.
  • This is why I stuck with Bioshock 2.
  • I've got 91%, and the only trophies I need are campaign mode trophies for the nightmare difficulty setting. I was only line last night playing, and in about 45 minutes I was able to get in 6 matches. GuapoPogi
