Coming soon from ex-Spider-Man 2 devs Happion Labs, Energy Hook is a 3D action game that takes its inspiration from Spidey and games like Bionic Commando, as well as "points-for-style games" like SSX, Tony Hawk and PGR.

Spearheaded by Happion Games founder Jamie Fristrom, Energy Hook sees the developer revisiting "the coolest thing I’ve ever done – swinging game mechanics". In Energy Hook you can swing between rooftops, pull off stunts in mid-air, run along walls, racking up points and energy as you go.

You also have gravity beams, gravity boots and jetpacks, giving you the opportunity to pull off some crazy feats of traversal. Energy Hook will be heading to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in 2014. Check out a trio of screenshots below.

  • If only Spider Man 2 had jetpacks. This should make up for it I hope
  • It looks original and visually it's great.
  • Kind of looks like what Bionic Commando '09 should've been.
  • What the hell.. why would anyone want to play a game with graphics like this on a ps4? Where are our next gen titles?
  • @4 well, Sony is really pushing for indie developers to bring their games to the ps4. That being said you shouldn't be looking at the graphics as indie games don't have the budgets for things like that. I will agree that the graphics for this game a bit dull but at the same time you can't have the highest expectations for all releases.
