Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Dev Diary Explores the World

Ubisoft has released a new developer diary for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, focusing on the game’s open world.

“Discover the diversity of environments and settings the team has implemented in the game,” says the blurb, “from varied Cities and Mayan Ruins to the vast sea and its sunken ships.”

You can read our latest preview here. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag launches on October 29th in North America and November 1st in Europe. The next-gen version will follow soon after.

  • Have they yet explained if you can swim underwater EVERYwhere or 'just' where there is a sunken ship, reef or area of interest? Can't see the vid at work (so maby the answer i seek is in it).
  • @2 i think dev stated in an interview that you can swim and dive everywhere i believe it was this one
  • @2, you can't dive everywere, only on certain landmarks like sunken ships. Not sure if you can actually swim everywhere though.
  • Picking this up with my launch day PS4. Can't wait.
  • If i remember correctly they mentioned swimming yes, but you can`t dive everywhere, just on these special spots "sunken treasure" But how more they show how more i can`t wait for it anymore. The fast open world and the upgraded naval battles are one thing that realy got me into this.
