There are a lot of commonly held myths surrounding pirates that have derived from movies, books and TV that aren't necessarily true. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is looking to set the record straight, telling a story from the Gold Age of Piracy, based on the actual recorded history rather than the myth.
Continuing with Connor's lineage for ACIV with his grandfather and swashbuckling pirate Edward Kenway, Black Flag is shaping up to be everything you could ask for from a game with pirates. Except there'll be no parrots on shoulders. Damn.
Check out our interview with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's Creative Director Jean Guesdon for the lowdown on the next instalment in the ongoing franchise, as well as some debunking of those aforementioned myths and clichés surrounding pirates. Arr, matey!
