Capcom has today released Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the massive expansion previously released for Switch and PC, featuring new monsters, a new storyline, new combay options, new locales, a Master Rank quest difficulty, and another 50 trophies to unlock.

Sunbreak takes place in the wake of your heroic defence of Kamura Village in Monster Hunter Rise, with gallant knight Dame Fiorayne journeying from a distant Kingdom to enlist your aid. Heeding the call, you'll travel to the port of Elgado Outpost, where you'll encounter powerful creatures known collectively as the ‘Three Lords’.

These include elemental powerhouse Garangolm, chiling Fanged Wyvern Lunagaron, and vampiric Elder Dragon Malzeno, and arrive as part of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak alongside new monster variants and returning fan-favourites. There's the Scorned Magnamalo, Espinas, and Shagaru Magala, all available to hunt in Master Rank quests.

Helping you to fell these beasts will be new Switch Skills for all 14 weapons, the ability to to use two different Switch Skill loadouts with ‘Switch Skill Swap’, and more. New single-player Follower Quests are also included, with the likes of Fiorayne, Luchika, Jae, Admiral Galleus, and Master Arlow all available as Followers, alongside members of Kamura Village like Hinoa and Minoto.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is out now for Monster Hunter Rise on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, priced $39.99/£32.99, with all post-release content up to Free Title Update 3. This includes the Chaotic Gore Magala and more, while future updates will be forthcoming.
