Developer Velan Studios, the makers of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit and Knockout City, have announced Hot Wheels: Rift Rally, a mixed reality racing game for PlayStation and iOS releasing this March. The game will ship with a Hot Wheels Chameleon RC car, which is able to digitally transform into over 140 variations of vehicle.

These variations include classic Hot Wheels cars like Twin Mill, Bone Shaker, Mach Speeder, Gotta Go, and other fan favourites, as well as a handful of original designs made especially for the game. Featuring a Campaign mode and challenge maps, Rift Rally will involve setting up physical ‘Rift Gates’ to create tracks.

Stunt mode, meanwhile, will have you driving and pulling off stunts with the Chameleon, chaining drifts, wheelies, and burnouts to rack up high scores. You can even play co-op with up to four Chameleon cars in the same room. Check out the reveal trailer below to find out more.

Hot Wheels: Rift Rally will be coming to PS5, PS4, and iOS on 14th March, with a $129.99 standard edition bundling the Chameleon with four gates, and a $149.99 Collectors Edition available, with a special CE Chameleon RC car, limited edition die-cast McLaren Hot Wheels car, and bonus unlockable McLaren Senna car.

  • What if I live in a humble house without a lot of "obstacles"?

I'm currently playing Hot Wheels Unleashed and enjoying it.

I have a feeling this game will not sell well.
  • @Dark Shadows, They're charging €130+ for basically a mobile game and it's from the developer of that Knockout City game that just shut down. I'd be surprised if it sells at all.
