GTA Online: San Andreas Mercenaries Update is Coming Later This Month

Richard Walker

Rockstar has announced that Grand Theft Auto Online will be getting a new San Andreas Mercenaries update later this month, enabling you to take the fight to Merryweather Security, as its shady and corrupt contract killers scale up and attempt to squeeze out any rogue competition.

Teaming up with elite pilots and ex-military operators, you'll take on San Andreas' largest private military company, across the streets, seas, and skies of Southern San Andreas. Led by ace aircraft mechanic and pilot Charlie Reed, your squad of proficient aviators and guns-for-hire - known as the Los Santos Angels - will be able to tackle new private work, data theft, raids, and missions that involve blowing up high-value targets.

Thanks to Charlie, the Mammoth Avenger will serve as an enhanced aerial command centre, complete with Operations Terminal and weapons system upgrades. From here, you can take on missions, as well as new ventures running valuable contraband on the ground, and random opportunities to pilfer cash and smuggle commodities from lucrative targets.

Mammoth Avenger and Hangar owners can expect upgrades and benefits, such as being able to store the aircraft and customise it from your Hangar, or even store and access your Avenger without having to own a Hangar or Facility property. A new Tactical SMG will also be added, alongside daily time trials, and more, including the following improvements, inspired by community feedback:

  • When calling Mors Mutual Insurance, you'll be able to claim all destroyed vehicles at once.
  • An alternate sprint control option (hold to sprint) will be added to the Settings Menu.
  • Custom description tags for garages to help quickly locate your favorite rides.
  • The Willard Eudora and Albany Classique Broadway will become eligible for Taxi Work when using Taxi Liveries.
  • Updates to the Creator to incorporate additional props and weather options, including snow.

Grand Theft Auto Online: San Andreas Mercenaries will be coming as a free update to all GTA Online players on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC from 13th June.
