Now that's an underwhelming revelation to what they are actually doing.
I also don't think they are understanding what "persistent" in terms of multiplayer means. I'll refrain of adding to the list of no-meanings for now, though.
With how much money they spend on "R&D" for their "cloud studio" and all that high profile hires I don't see the studio surviving for a second game. Another co-op multiplayer shooter in a time when many mediocre live serivces don't even make it through (or even to) their second year? Money well burned.Friday, May 26, 2023 @ 02:38 PM
The idea sounds fun, could have been a very nice single player game.

Following its formation in 2021, and confirmation last year that it's working on a “persistent” online game, Sony-owned developer Haven Studios (founded by former Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell creative Jade Raymond) has now revealed its first game: Fairgame$.
Described as a “fresh, modern” take on the heist genre, Fairgame$ has you assembling a team to rob the ultra-rich, fulfilling the role of ‘modern-day Robin Hood’. You'll trespass inside forbidden locations around the world, filling your coffers with loot, while unravelling the schemes of usually untouchable billionaires.
According to Haven's Creative Director Mathieu Leduc, Fairgame$ is a new kind of multiplayer experience that will boast “emergent sandbox gameplay”, rewarding “creativity and mastery” with surprising stories each time you play. You can get a feel for the game in the CG reveal trailer below.
Fairgame$ will be coming to PlayStation 5 and PC, but a release date has yet to be announced.
