Teased as far back as November 2021, ray tracing support for Elden Ring has been a long time coming, with support for the feature added via update 1.07 last October. Now it's finally here.

Ray tracing has been added to Elden Ring on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via update 1.09, which also includes an extensive laundry list of fixes and improvements across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC . These include PvP balancing adjustments, Ashes of War tweaks, general balancing changes, and an array of bug fixes.

“Please note that performance - such as frame rate and resolution - may be impacted while playing with Ray Tracing on," publisher Bandai Namco warned in the full v1.09 patch notes.

Elden Ring launched last February, and, since then has racked up more than 20 million copies sold, standing it in good stead for the upcoming release of its Shadow of Erdtree expansion, whenever that might be.
