CD Projekt RED has released the free Update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077 today, paving the way for the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion next week.
Update 2.0 is the most significant patch for Cyberpunk 2077 yet, introducing a litany of major gameplay overhauls, new features, reworks, and other improvements to the game. Revamped cyberware, vehicle combat, car chases, police system, skill trees, and perks are among the key changes, making for a deeper, more refined experience.
According to CDPR, the new skill tree changes offer a greater level of freedom for building unique and effective playstyles, while visits to the ripperdoc require “a more strategic approach”. Vehicle combat, meanwhile, now enables the use of quickhacks while using a vehicle, and you can wield katanas while riding a motorcycle, as well as being able to remotely control enemy cars and blow them up.
Clashes with the NCPD (Night City Police Dept) will play out more like a “dynamic and highly demanding” boss battle, with the cops now deploying barricades and other measures, depending on your heat level. Reach max heat, and you'll have to deal with MaxTac, the most challenging, zero tolerance unit the NCPD has to offer.
