it looks like Assassin's Creed Codename: Red could be due to launch sometime next year, according to a LinkedIn post from a Ubisoft marketing employee.
The Feudal Japan-set chapter, which will form part of the ambitious Assassin's Creed Infinity platform, is referred to as “the biggest blockbuster for 2024” in the post in question. Spotted by Access the Animus (via Eurogamer), the post has since been amended to remove the “for 2024” bit, which only makes it more suspicious.
Alongside Assassin's Creed Codename: Hexe, which is set during the Holy Roman Empire, Assassin's Creed Codename: Red is among the first games coming as part of Assassin's Creed Infinity, with Ubisoft Quebec of Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Assassin's Creed Syndicate, leading development.
Feudal Japan has been the most-requested setting for an AC game for ages now, but it looks like it could finally be happening in 2024. First up, however, is Assassin's Creed Mirage this October, a Valhalla prequel set in Baghdad, which tells the origin story of master assassin Basim.
