A Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake Apparently Leaked

A remake of A Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons has seemingly leaked, ahead of an announcement. Just how much of a remake it will be – as opposed to a remaster, say – remains to be seen.

The news comes from billbil-kun (via VGC), who tweeted – X’d? – out the news that a remake was due to be announced soon. It will, apparently be published by 505 Games, which published the original, and how involved Starbreeze Studios will be it remains to be seen.

Brothers was one of those games that found fame on XBLA. It was a critical darling, and it struck a cinematic pose, hinging on an ingenious central mechanic that had you controlling two brothers – one with each analogue stick. It was like co-op and single-player rolled into one. And it was good.

It came out in 2013, on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC and was ported to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2015. Then onto Switch in 2019.

All eyes on The Game Awards this Thursday night, then, for a possible announcement.

  • The game was somewhat fun, sure.
But do we really need a remake of a two-hour game that is still perfectly fine?

The gaming industry surely has surpassed Hollywood in terms of rehashing and remakes this generation. Can't wait for another round coming for PS6.
  • I second that. Did this game really need a remake?
  • All games need remakes if there are trophy hunters involved and there is money to be made. But for younger gamers who never experienced this before, it also makes sense.
