Waking Dream Trophy in Ys Memories of Celceta (PS4 & Vita)

    How to unlock Waking Dream

Nightmare is the hardest difficulty and is unlocked right from the beginning. It’s not recommended to start the game on Nightmare though. You need to clear the game twice for platinum anyway, so complete the first playthrough with all your characters at max level and with half of them having their ultimate gear and the other half with their second best gear to make things a lot easier.

Map progress carries over to NG+ and if you had 100% completion on your previous playthrough, you can talk to Griselda to receive Ares’ Seal right after you accept to map the Great Forest. Keep that artifact equipped at all times, whenever other ones are not necessary for story progression to boost your EXTRA gauge’s fill rate.

Take advantage of skills and especially EXTRA skill. When you use your skills, you will take around 1/10th of actual damage dealt. During EXTRA skill animations, you can switch your characters and deal additional damage using another character, meanwhile the enemy will be frozen for the duration of that animation. You can deal massive damage if you activate your EXTRA skill while bosses are in their dazed state. Hero’s Ring accessory will unlock secondary, more powerful versions of EXTRA skills and some of them, especially Frieda’s, take a very long time to complete, which once again might give you a huge edge against the enemy, if you activate it at right moment.

Try to memorize enemy attack patterns if you can. If you’ve earned every other possible trophy on your previous playthrough, you can just skip all monsters and unnecessary combat and head directly to your objective to save time and avoid pointless damage/item usage.

Assuming this is your second playthrough, make sure to collect Sun Stones and complete Weapon Test related quests at Selray’s blacksmith again to unlock the rest of the weapon test/ultimate weapons during this playthrough to avoid an additional one.

  • There is a small tip for getting through the second play through. Hold your thumb down over all the face buttons (circle, square, triangle and X) to skip through any cutscenes. Made my life way easier the second time through the game
