XBlaze Lost: Memories is the follow up to Aksys' visual novel XBlaze Code: Embryo. In the game, you play as a pink haired girl looking desperately for her little sister in the Phantom Field. While searching, you meet up with another young lady who calls herself Nobody. Nobody will serve as your guide through the game.
The biggest thing you need to know about this game is that it is not played exactly the same as XBlaze Code: Embryo. In the previous game, your only task was to read through the story and the TOIs that would appear throughout in order to reach the ends of the various routes the game allowed you to take. In XBlaze Lost: Memories, the TOIs are gone, and you will not need to do multiple playthroughs in order to get different endings. Also different in XBlaze Lost: Memories is having a playable character. Throughout the game, you will be tasked to find TIPs from the cat dolls that are spread throughout the different levels, as well as memory fragments. Because of the implementation of a playable character, the controls differ somewhat from XBlaze Code: Embryo, so please see the walkthrough below.
Controls:
Move your character throughout the levels in the dungeon crawling sequences where you are searching for cat dolls and memory fragments.
Serves three functions. Press
to pick up cat dolls and memory fragments during dungeon crawling sequences.
will also select your answer to quizzes presented by Nobody. Pressing
will also advance text during the story.
Pressing
is not required in all levels. In those that utilize
, it is used to traverse from one point on the map to another.
During the dungeon crawling sequences, use this to summon Nobody.
Access TIPS and memories
Pause, and access menu to load, save, etc during gameplay
Step One:
The first thing I would recommend doing after getting to the title screen of the game is to go into the settings tab and make sure auto save is turned on. This will save you in case you forget to save and fail to pick up some memory fragments or cat dolls for TIPs. I also sped up animations and the text, but if you don't want to, that is up to you.
Step Two:
Start up the game by selecting the start tab on the main menu. Watch the opening sequences and advance the story. Eventually, you will get to a point where the game becomes more interactive than its predecessor. After meeting up with Nobody, she will ask your name. You will be prompted to type your name in. You will be limited to a name of no more than 5 letters.
In this step, you should at a minimum earn:
Awakening
Open Your Mind!
...The Single Step
Step Three:
Play through the game, collecting every cat doll and memory fragment in every level. If you miss one, load up a save file to go get it. Keep in mind, there is no way to know exactly where the item is that you missed. This is why I recommend autosave being left on, as it will save in every chapter so you can easily go back. You will need to play from the point where you think you missed until the end, re-collecting everything. For the memory fragments, you can summon Nobody, and she will let you know how many fragments are left in your current level. Depending on whether or not you collected every cat doll, earned every TIPs, correctly answered every one of Nobody's riddles, and found every memory fragment, you should earn:
Phantom Field, First Floor
Phantom Field, Second Floor
Phantom Field, Third Floor
Phantom Field, Fourth Floor
Phantom Field Fifth Floor
Phantom Field, Sixth Floor
Phantom Field, Seventh Floor
Final Destination
Sensory Memories
Implicit Memories
Explicit Memories

Step Four:
This is your cleanup step. If you missed any TIPs or memory fragments, or failed to correctly answer all of the riddles, load up your saves and go through the game again. You may need several more partial playthroughs in order to find what you are missing.
