WRC 2 Trophy Guide

Overview:

The servers for this game have been closed without warning, the is now unobtainable if you didn't get the online trophies prior to the shutdown.

Road Map:

Introduction:
In World Rally Championship 2 you create your own rally team with a goal to get reputation and skill to make a contract with one of WRC rally teams and race in the official World Rally Championship. Best part of game is quite realistic car handling and obviously official rally teams/drivers/cars. This is not exactly a driving simulation game but is very far away from arcade racing. The difficulty settings can be adjusted to match your skill at any point of the game, which make it quite easy. Online trophies and winning every event in "The Road to WRC" can be considered as the most time consuming part of the game. The only missable trophy is "Grand Slam" requiring you to place first in every event during The Road to the WRC. Please check the trophy description for details.

There is no need to play different game modes in specific order and you probably will jump from one step to another, because it become quite repetitive to do one step at the time.

Step 1: WRC Rally School
If you are not familiar with rally games, I suggest you start with "WRC Rally School". It contains 18 quite short lessons, which will introduce you to handling of different car classes, different type of surfaces and your co-driver calls. Note: this is the only game mode where you can't use brake assistance and rewind effects. After you complete your first lesson you will get "Let it be a lesson to you!" and after mastering all 18 you get "Ace of the Race" Also you can get several miscellaneous trophies during this step. "Rolling Rolling…Rawhide", "El Mariachi", "Take it!", "Hairpin Addicted", "The best thing a man can do…", "Gravity is for Losers".

Step 2: The Road to the WRC
In this step you will spend most of the offline time playing the game and getting most of the trophies. Only missable trophy in the game is in this game mode: "Grand Slam" (see trophy description for details) Just go through all the racing programs here and win every championship/event. You don't have to win every stage or rally in championships, as long as you place first overall in the end of the championship. I recommend you select programs to race in order from 01 to 09, so it is easier to keep track of winning every event.

Step 3: Online
Online is a bit grinding for this game. And the only hard trophy is also online one. There is 10 online trophies but only two of them will take 95% of your time online. You have to get level 50 in Hall of Fame and Super Special Stage rankings. Luckily experience points you get from racing in SSS stages will increase your Hall of Fame ranking to. You should concentrate on SSS races from start. I highly recommend to find a boosting partner from this forum.

Step 4: Single Player and Hot Seat game modes, clean up.
Here comes an easy part in the road to the Platinum. You have to race few single stages in Single Player mode to get "Beat the Man to be the man!", "Historic Victory", "Know your limits… to pass them!", "Can't touch me!", "Your speed is melting the snow!", race one rally in Hot Seat mode to get "No friends in race!" and possibly get any miscellaneous trophies you may have missed earlier.

Safari Legends

In The Road to the WRC, win the Legends Of Rally Championship - Event.
You will come across this championship in race program 09. Choose opponent level and possible driving assists from the settings menu, so you will win for sure. In some rallies in the championship you can choose how many stages rally includes. Choose the minimum 3 (4 in some rallies) stages with before starting it from calendar.
Historic Italian Job

In The Road to the WRC, win the Historic Italian Job - Event.
You will come across this championship in race program 07. Choose opponent level and possible driving assists from setting menu, so you will win for sure. In some rallies in the championship you can choose how many stages rally includes. Choose the minimum 3 (4 in some rallies) stages with before starting it from calendar.
Great Scott!

Complete an upgrade research in 'The Road to the WRC'.
Can't miss this one. Game will force you to start first research during tutorial program. Just start research on any part of car. It will be completed in a few weeks and the trophy is your.
Teamwork

In 'The Road to the WRC', increase the team level of development up to 23.
In The Road to the WRC you have a opportunity to hire mechanics in the Garage menu, Mechanic Management. As you get higher reputation level from winning races more and better mechanics will be available for hiring in your team. Check the available contracts and hire mechanics with best development levels. You can reach level 23 when your reputation level is around 45.
Employee of the Month

In 'The Road to the WRC', increase the staff level of efficiency up to 25.
In The Road to the WRC you have a opportunity to hire office staff in the Office menu, Staff Management As you get higher reputation level from winning races more and better staff will be available for hiring in your team. Check available contracts and hire staff with best efficiency levels. You will reach level 25 when your reputation level is around 45.
Show off the style!

In The Road to the WRC, unlock the sponsor Rally Style.
In the Road to the WRC you will put your office staff to do negotiations with sponsors for your team. Rally Style sponsor will be available for the negotiations in the racing program 02.
No Mercy!

In 'The Road to the WRC', fire 10 co-workers in your Office or Garage.
This will come naturally as you progress through The Road to the WRC. As you hire new office staff and mechanics you naturally fire old ones. Do this 10 times and trophy is yours.
Buddying Mechanic

Spend a total of 10 minutes in the Car Setting section of the menu
This is the easiest trophy ever! Before you start a stage in any game mode, go to the Car setting menu, Edit Car settings and change any setting.in any way. Then put your controller down and take a 10 minute brake. The trophy will pop after 10 minutes of you doing nothing. If you complete a stage with this change you will also get "Homo Faber Fortunae Suae" trophy.
Beat the Man to be the man!

Beat Sébastien Loeb in a Single Player - Single Stage match
From main menu go to the Single Player, choose Single Stage, WRC car class and any car except Sébastien Loeb. Choose whatever stage you like, adjust a difficulty level to match your skill and win the stage. The trophy will pop during loading/saving screen after the stage.
Your speed is melting the snow!

Complete a Single Player - Single Rally match in Sweden using Kimi Räikkönen in first position.
From main menu go to the Single Player, choose Single Rally, WRC car class and Kimi Räikkönen for a driver. Choose Sweden rally, 3 stages and place 1st in the rally. The trophy will pop during loading/saving screen after the last stage.
Historic Victory

Complete a Single Player - Single Rally match in first position with a WRC Group B car.
From main menu go to the Single Player, choose Single Rally, WRC Group B car and any driver. Choose whatever rally you like, adjust a difficulty level to match your skill and win the rally. The trophy will pop during loading/saving screen after the last stage.
Power is with you. Always.

Complete a Power Stage in an offline Championship in first position.
To get a Power Stage in a rally you have to choose a full 6 or 7 stages rally in the championship. It have to be a WRC championship. When you complete first 5 stages, 6th stage will become a Power Stage. I got it in the race program 07 in the WRC championship, during first rally in Sweden.
Sinister Appearance

Upload one of your ghosts on the online Leaderboards.

This is the only difficult trophy in the game if you don't want to buy any DLC. You can upload a ghost to the online Leaderboards after you complete a stage but your time has to be in top 100 times in the world for it to count. You should download a ghost from 100th place of the stage you feel is easy for you and practice with that ghost, so you will see where you can improve your time. I personally wasn't good enough driver to get there and got the Tokyo Urban Rally DLC for €4,95 (the DLC does not have any trophies) At this moment (July 2012) there are between 25 and 65 entries in 6 stages in Tokyo, so you will automatically get the top 100 time if you just finish the stage.
Ghost Hunters

In Time Attack mode, complete a race against one of the ghosts you have downloaded.

To download a ghost go to Multiplayer, Leaderboard, Stage record leaderboard, choose any stage and download any time with . Then go back to the main menu, choose Time Attack, any car class and any driver. Choose the same stage you downloaded ghost from and start a race with Downloaded Ghost. You don't have to win, just race to finish and trophy will pop during loading/saving screen after the stage.
Let it be a lesson to you!

Successfully complete one of the lessons in the WRC Rally School.
Go to the WRC Rally School and beat the goal time in any lesson. The trophy will pop soon after lesson is over.
No friends in race!

Complete a Hot Seat - Single Rally match against three other players in first position.
Go to Hot Seat, choose Single Rally, 4 players. You will race in turns with same controller, complete the rally, let the first player win. The trophy will pop during loading/saving screen after the stage.
Super Special Duellist

Win 10 Super Special Stages in Online matches.

Go to Multiplayer, Create or find in Custom Match Super Special Stage and win 10 times. There is no special strategy for this, you just have to be good racer. For getting "Tireless Boxer" you will need at least 200 wins to get it, see that trophy description for details.

In an Online lobby, vote for the Special Stage that wins the voting.

Go to Multiplayer, Custom match and choose championship, single rally or single stage with voting selection policy, not random or host selection. Before stage is started everyone have to vote and you have few seconds to see what stage other people is voting for. Vote for the winning stage and trophy is yours.
Event Planner

Create a Lobby in the 'Create Match' page and start the race.
No longer obtainable due to server shutdown.

Go to Multiplayer, create any type of race and wait for at least one player join your lobby. Start the race and trophy is yours.
Heads-Up Specialist

Reach level 30 in the Super Special Stage Online Ranking.
No longer obtainable due to server shutdown.

See "Tireless Boxer".
Player of Age

Reach level 18 in the Hall of Fame Online Ranking.
No longer obtainable due to server shutdown.

See "Eat dust, bleed gasoline".
Racing Time

Reach 30 cumulative minutes of race in valid Online Matches.

This will come naturally. You will spend many hours in online SSS races, after first 30 minutes trophy will pop. Any online race will count.
Rolling Rolling...Rawhide

Roll over the car.
You will most likely roll your car without trying at some point. If not, just cut some chicanes or tight turn with high edge on any gravel stage and see you rolling. The trophy will pop few seconds after you are back on four wheels.
El Mariachi

Put down a cactus in Mexico.
There is a cactus on the side of road in every stage in Mexico. First I was looking for the tall cactus that's in trophy picture, but they are actually no taller then your wheel and more of a round shape. If you start with WRC Rally School, your first opportunity to put a cactus down is in lesson 05. The trophy will pop few seconds after you drive over a cactus.
Take it!

Enter the Photo Mode, take a photo and save it.
Another easy one. At any point whilst driving, push start, choose photo mode, take a snapshot, save. The trophy will pop few seconds after you save.
Hairpin Addicted

Sa Linea 1 - Drive the first sector in less than 45 secs performing at least 6 secs of drift.
This has to be done in Italy on the Sa Linea 1 stage. Can be done in any race mode. There are a few hairpins and tight turns at the start of the stage, so you must drift to get good time to first sector. If you start with WRC Rally School you will get this trophy whilst mastering last lesson.
Drive fast or drive home

Reach 225 Km/h (139 mph) on a Special Stage.
There are a few stages with straights long enough to reach speed of 225 km/h. I did it Finland, stage 03, Evo 1. Pick a WRC car, go to Car setting, edit car setting and adjust your Gear Final Ratio to the max speed (all the way to the left) before starting the stage and be sure to turn off breaking assist if you use any. 4-5 corners after the start will be a nice straight to drive fast. The trophy will pop few seconds after you reach 225km/h.
The best thing a man can do...

...is drive sideways. At least it's the best thing he can do dressed! Slide for 35 metres (115 feet).
Slide in this case mean drift and you will drift a lot! It is a rally driving technique on gravel anyway. If you start with WRC Rally School you can get in 1st lesson. It is a tarmac stage but just pull a handbrake while steering and accelerate in the corner. The trophy will pop few seconds after you drift for 35 metres or longer.
Gravity is for Losers

Perform a jump of at least 2.5 metres (8.2 feet) in height.

There are several stages with long and high jumps with Finland being a good example. I actually got it by accident in WRC Rally School in lesson 05 by missing a breaking point and jumping off the road. The trophy will pop few seconds after you land.
Know your limits... to pass them!

Win a Single Player - Single Stage match in using the Advanced Driving Style only.

This is not the easiest trophy to get. Go to Options, Game options and change driving style to Advanced. Go to the Single player, Single stage, choose any stage you good at and any car class you handle the best. Win the stage. Strategy for this one is strongly depending on driving style and skill. I am a very average couch racer and this setup helped me: I did the Sweden SSS for this stage, used the small WRC Academy Ford and made the 1st and 2nd gears a little bit longer so I could drive most of the track on 2nd gear on decent speed.
New Borns

Reach 30 used manual respawns in the offline statistic page.
This will probably come naturally. Holding when your car is stopped will respawn you in the middle of the road. Just do it for 30 times and trophy will pop during loading/saving screen after the stage on which you did it for 30th time. This has to be done offline.
I Never Give Up!

In an offline Special Stage with P.Solberg, gain at least 5 positions from one sector to the next.
Put the A.I opponent level quite low. Go to the Single Player, Single stage and choose WRC, Peter Solberg. Select any stage you like and drive for 1st sector of stage very slow so you will drop to place 15-20. When you about to start a second sector drive like P.Solberg would drive – go flat out and you will gain at least 5 positions.
Eternal Return

Use the Rewind effect in any game mode.
If you press , you will start rewind effect, which is very handy feature in tougher rallies. Trophy will pop few seconds after you start racing again.
Homo Faber Fortunae Suae

Complete a Special Stage in first position using a Car Settings preset you've created.
Before you start a stage in any game mode go to the Car settings menu, Edit Car settings and change any setting in any way. Complete a stage, you don't have to win and trophy will pop during loading/saving screen after the stage.
Can't touch me!

Complete a valid Special Stage without any damages. No Respawns or Rewind effects are allowed.
Go to Single Player, Single Stage. Choose any car class and any driver. Choose Spain and stage 02 Santa Marina (shortest stage in the game) Just drive very slowly (30-50km/h) in the middle of the road and be sure not to touch anything or jump. The trophy will pop during loading/saving screen after the stage.
Ace of the Race

Successfully complete all the challenges in the WRC Rally School.
See "The Perfect Storm".
Knockout!

In 'The Road to the WRC' complete in first position one of the Super Special Stage tournaments.
In the Super Special Stage tournament you will race head to head in same Super Special Stage. Winner go to the next round, loser will go home. First SSS tournament will be in race program 02.
World Tour

Complete a valid rally in Argentina, Australia, Jordan, Mexico & Greece in the same Championship.
See "European Tour".
European Tour

Complete a valid rally in Great Britain, Italy, France, Spain & Portugal in the same Championship.
You will get "World Tour" and "European Tour" in WRC championship during race program 09. Just do not skip any rallies mentioned in trophies description. You don't have to win, just completing it is enough but you want to win all of the championships in The Road to WRC for the "Grand Slam" trophy.
The Perfect Storm

Storm all the challenges of the WRC Rally School.
In the WRC Rally School you have to master all of lessons. That means you have to not just beat the time limit, but you also have to beat the ghost. I found it to be easier without visible ghost and spline marks. You can turn them on and off by pressing and .
Tireless Boxer

Reach level 50 in the Super Special Stage Online Ranking.
No longer obtainable due to server shutdown.

Here comes the grind part. Go to Multiplayer, create or join Super Special Stage and race, race, race. To get level 50 at SSS rankings you have to get a little bit over 200 000 exp. If you win the SSS race you will have maximum 730 exp per race. If you lose you will have 250 exp per race. Never quit an online race, because you will be penalized 800 exp for quitting (you lose only The Hall of Fame points and that car class xp you use). Unfortunately you will be penalized as well if the server decide to kick you out, happened to me few times. Good news is that exp you earn in SSS races will also get your Hall of Fame ranking up. Without boosting you will spend at least a 15-20 hours in SSS racing. This calculation assuming you win 3 races out of 4, you have always someone to race with and servers are working properly.

If you boost it with the 2 accounts method, have the losing account quit before race starts and is fast to rejoin the lobby, you will be getting 650 exp every 1-1.5 minutes. That makes about 5 -7 hours for each of you to get from level 0 to 50.

Any race you do online will net you some exp for Hall of Fame rankings. Never quit an online race because you will be penalized 800 exp for quitting. Unfortunately you will be penalized as well if the server decide to kick you out, happened to me few times. I recommend you concentrate on SSS races. By the time I got level 50 in SSS, my Hall of Fame level was 59 and I raced under 10 stages in others game modes.
Horsepower Overload!

In 'The Road to the WRC' get all the upgrades on one of your cars.
You should start with the R2 class car you had to buy during your first tutorial program. Just keep upgrading that car from Garage menu, Edit cars anytime you have free development slots. Hire more mechanics with better ability skill then you have enough popularity points and it will allow you to work on several upgrades in same time.
The Advent of the New King

In 'The Road to the WRC' complete the WRC Championship in first position.
You will come across this championship in race program 09. In some rallies in the championship you can choose how many stages rally includes. You can choose the minimum 3 (4 in some rallies) stages with before starting it from calendar.
Grand Slam

Complete all the events of 'The Road to the WRC' in first position.

This the only missable trophy in the game!

There are 10 (9 race programs and first tutorial program) different race programs to choose for each season you start and if you skipped or lost some championships/events in that program, you can always go back in the end of the season and complete them again. However very first tutorial program is not available anymore after you complete it and if you did not won every event in this program you will have to start a new game in order to get that trophy. Note that you can change difficulty settings from the options menu at any time (some can be changed even during the race). I recommend you set the difficulty as low as it will go at the start of tutorial program so you will win every event in it for sure. You can always change it back to match your skill and give you some challenge to races. You don't have to win every stage or rally in championships, as long as you place first overall in the end of the each championship.

Building Up the House

Enter the second season of 'The Road to the WRC'.
This will come naturally when you start your 2nd season in The Road to the WRC.
Pimp my Car!

Change the livery and the three colours of one of your cars in 'The Road to the WRC'.
Winning the races will unlock different liveries and colours for you car. In some point you will get livery which have 3 different colours. Go to the Garage menu, Edit car and change all three.
Four Seasons

Enter the fourth season of 'The Road to the WRC'.
This will come naturally when you start your 4th season in The Road to the WRC.
Time to sign autographs

In 'The Road to the WRC' achieve Reputation Level 70.
This will come naturally during the game. Winning the races in The Road to the WRC will give you reputation points. You will reach level 70 during race program 06 or 07.
Official Driver

In 'The Road to the WRC' complete the first rally of the WRC Championship.
You will come across this championship in race program 09. In some rallies in the championship you can choose how many stages rally includes. You can choose the minimum 3 (4 in some rallies) stages with before starting it from calendar. Just win any rally in championship and the trophy will pop during saving/loading screen after the last stage in the rally.
