Introduction:

Welcome to WRC10, another solid installment of the officially licensed product by KT Racing. Fans of motorsports will love it, as the fan service is served right, everyone else will enjoy the soft-sim driving model, and smooth 60 fps, hi-res gameplay/visuals on PS5. In terms of difficulty this is a rather nice and easy plat (especially for racing games veterans). First of all - before you start playing I highly recommend to turn OFF the Traction Control (TCS) in options, because 98% of the cars you will be driving for this plat will be 4WD and they're easy to control to begin with. TCS will actually limit your control over the car/limit your experience with very enjoyable driving physics. The rest of the settings are completely up to you (I used ABS + semi-auto transmission). In terms of difficulty - you can pick whatever you want, but if you're an experienced racing games player I recommend the default (100/150) difficulty. It's still not hard and very manageable, main thing is that you're limited to 5 restarts per stage, so it makes you drive smarter rather than at maximum attack all of the time (which is what rally is all about tbh). Around 70-75/100 difficulty you will have infinite restarts at your disposal, but the game will get very boring/too easy. It's also worth it to begin with the Club section of the game to optimise the time of your platinum if you want to do get the platinum really fast (check Clan Leader trophy_bronze.png and It's the Taking Part That Counts trophy_bronze.png for more details)

Walkthrough:

Step 1:
WRC3/WRC2 Career

Trophy-wise you can completely ignore JWRC & jump right into WRC3. I recommend doing all of the rally-win specific trophies within WRC2/WRC3, because a few rallies are a bit harder to win in WRC (Monte-Carlo/Greece) than within the lower series. Please do note that if you start a season with a private team, you will be forced to finish the season with the same team, as you won't be able to advance to a higher series mid-season. This is not exactly bad, because with private team you will go for a full season rather than just selected rallies (in which factory teams take part), which will enable you to get all rally-specific win trophies early on. Private team can by unlocked by starting with 12 Anniversary events (check Unforgettable trophy_silver.png below). I recommend going for long or medium rally duration here. It will be more interesting with tire allocation strategy, but most importantly will help you get the mileage trophies quicker.

After this step you should unlock:

Step 2: WRC Career
If you got any rally-specific win trophies left after the previous step you will probably get them here, as WRC teams take part in every rally in a calendar. You will also easily grind the max lvl, legendary staff and mileage trophies (if you didn't get it already, as grind in this game is very mild/quick and it's shared throughout all modes) and get the season objective (available only in WRC).

After this step you should unlock:

Step 3: Online
Yes, there are online/co-op trophies, they will require boosting (you will find boosting thread here) but they're very easy and quick to do (no need to win anything, just take part).

After this step you should unlock:
Clan Leader trophy_bronze.png
It's the Taking Part That Counts trophy_bronze.png
Taking One for the Team trophy_bronze.png

Step 4: Misc trophies
Here you will mop-up extra stuff like challenges, Anniversary mode and time trial stuff. Unexperienced players may find this step the hardest, because you can't alter difficulty in Anniversary mode (I reckon it's set at default 100/150 difficulty), but it's still manageable.

After this step you should unlock:

47 trophies ( 34  )

  • Earn every trophy in the game

As always - this will be the last one
  • Start a new career in WRC10

Just pick your driver's/co-driver's name & nationality, pick your starting category/team & this will pop
  • Win 1 Special Stage in Career mode

Self-explanatory. One of the 1st trophies you will get
  • Win 20 Special Stages in Career mode

  • Win 50 Special Stages in Career mode

Unmissable on your way towards world championship. This is cumulative over all single-player modes/stages won.
  • Win 5 Night Special Stages in Career mode

You will encounter many night stages within the career mode (most of the rallies have at least one). They're usually harder & will force you to pay attention to pace notes way more, but there are easier ones as well (with better visibility), which will be not much harder from the day ones. You will most likely get this without even knowing. If you're struggling you can always tone down the difficulty & win these with your eyes closed :)
  • Complete a season objective

Season objective is only available in top category - WRC. It can be somewhat misleading, or bugged in a positive way (hard to tell) - my season objective was suggesting I should finish within top5 in each rally, but the trophy popped with my 1st rally victory in the WRC. You can look it up with the objectives section of career main hub
  • Complete 5 objectives of any type during the same season

You will most probably get all these completed  without even trying throughout your multiple career stages. There are 3 kinds of objectives:
    • Short-term objective - they usually apply to an upcoming rally, not geting a penalty, not exceeding a given repair budget or repair time. They also concentrate on calendar activities like doing a given number of rest/extreme conditions/training events. These are easiest to complete, concentrate on them
    • Medium-term objective - few of them are plain stupid, like not using hard/soft tires within 2 upcoming rallies (I always ignored these), but also easy ones like keeping the morale/bank account balance above the given limit for a given time period
    • Season objective - see Good Work trophy_bronze.png
  • Join the WRC Championship

As you advance within your WRC3/WRC2 careers you will encounter Manufacturer Tryouts in your calendar, which will increase your reputation within the given manufacturer. Try to do these whenever you can and the Manufacturer Challenges will soon come. Winning the Manufacturer Challenge will let you immediately end your current season and restart within the higher tier/series team. This is one way to advance, the 2nd way is just finish the current season and Manufacturers will give you contract proposals. Go whichever way you like, this applies to advancing from any category to another, with WRC being the final/top category
  • Finish a career in Realistic duration mode

Sounds serious, but it's actually very quick and easy. As the description says - you just need to finish, not win. That means you can actually skip everything till the end of the season. Here's what you need to do:
    • Pick a blank career slot, just for sake of this trophy, choose JWRC and set the duration to "Realistic"
    • To make things faster pick the resting events (if your crew form drops) or Team Building events to boost their morale (you can also keep the PR Manager active to decrease morale drops) until rally day comes
    • When rally day begins just allocate your tires, pick "Abandon Rally" and you will return to the hub.
    • Keep skipping weeks with Resting/Team Building events up to next rally and keep abandoning rallies until the season ends and the trophy will pop. Simple as that
  • Become World Rally Champion

Not much to explain here. Just accumulate enough points to be on the top of the championship table at the end of the WRC category season. I recommend going with Hyundai or Toyota for this, but it's entirely up to you. Do mind that if you win enough rallies in the season, you can always skip the final one or two and still win the championship (I could skip 2 and still win). Just monitor the standings and note that max points you or your rivals can get for a rally is 30
  • Secure a podium finish at the Rallye Monte Carlo in Career mode

This is the most tricky rally to win, because AI seems to "cheat" here, being equally fast on tarmac and snow no matter the tire setup they're using. Played it on default difficulty and still managed to win, but if you're not feeling confident about it you can tone it all the way down. Try to do this rally with at least "Long" or "Medium" duration, to accumulate enough time advantage in early stages, so you can afford to lose time in later, partially snow-covered stages. Do note that this victory is way easier in lower categories than in WRC, as in WRC you will encounter stages with more snow coverage, making it harder to manage your time advantage
  • Secure a podium finish at the Rally Sweden in Career mode

Just finish on a podium in whatever category and you will get this
  • Secure a podium finish at the Safari Rally Kenya in Career mode

Just finish on a podium in whatever category and you will get this
  • Secure a podium finish at the Croatia Rally in Career mode

Just finish on a podium in whatever category and you will get this
  • Secure a podium finish at the Vodafone Rally de Portugal in Career mode

Just finish on a podium in whatever category and you will get this
  • Secure a podium finish at the Rally Italia Sardegna in Career mode

Just finish on a podium in whatever category and you will get this
  • Secure a podium finish at the Rally Estonia in Career mode

Just finish on a podium in whatever category and you will get this
  • Secure a podium finish at the Rally Finland in Career mode

Just finish on a podium in whatever category and you will get this
  • Secure a podium finish at the Rally RACC Catalunya - Rally de España in Career mode

Just finish on a podium in whatever category and you will get this
  • Secure a podium finish at the Rally Japan in Career mode

Just finish on a podium in whatever category and you will get this
  • Win all rallies in Career mode

This can either be done with a Manufacturer team in WRC, or with a Private team in whatever category you want (because you can go full season with it). This trophy bugged out on me, but in a positive way - I was doing full season with my private team and it popped 2 rallies before the end of the season
  • Reach level 10 in Career mode

  • Reach level 20 in Career mode

  • Reach level 50 in Career mode

  • Reach level 80 in Career mode

This will require some grind if you don't do it right, but can be done way quicker with a single tip. As you start in lower categories, be sure to hire the best (preferably 3-stars/legendary) Engineer you can get for an XP boost & keep upgrading your Engineers skill tree up to the max (including the 5-points, top upgrade). With fully upgraded Engineer skill tree and a good engineer (I was lucky to get the 3-star one early), you can get up to 7 levels up per rally. Just make sure your best Engineer is always in active crew line-up for the rally week, as the rallies are the top XP events you will perform (have one engineer in reserve to have him active in between rallies, so your main, legendary Engineer can rest up)

PS: Do note that Engineer becomes obsolete as you reach the level cap of 80, so if you're still doing WRC career when this happens (as I did), be sure to respec all the skills and put everything from Engineer's skill tree into other categories that will actually make sense to upgrade
  • Complete a Skill Tree branch in Manufacturer Team mode

In the Career hub, under R&D section there will be 4 categories (colors in text correspond with the colors of the in-game skill tree). I will outline the best things to upgrade in each as an extra tip for the best development of your team:
    • Team (get upgrades that help you find legendary staff for hire and enlarge crew reserve)
    • Performance (get upgrades improving tire grip and overall performance)
    • Crew (Engineer is the only one to upgrade to the max, after that concentrate on the Mechanic, the guy that gets you more events and the one that helps you get more money)
    • Reliability (concentrate on upgrades reducing the tire consumption and then parts reliability

Crew section will eat up most of the points so I'd avoid maxing that, concentrate on Team or Reliability, as these two are the most important in the long run. Note that if you have enough points, you can get this early by backing up your save to the cloud, using a Respec option (it costs 25 000$) to get the trophy and then restoring your save to develop the team as you wish.

Important: This trophy will be unavailable if you choose to do the season with your Private Team. To get this trophy you will need to either pick a Manufacturer team when starting a seson, or finish a season with your Private team and switch to manufacturer at the beginning of the next season
  • Have 4 legendary cards in an active crew

In the Career hub go to Crew Management, press r1.png and you'll see the crew members available to hire. Staff you're looking for will be marked with 3 golden stars, the more stars, the better the employee (0-3 stars range, more stars = better skills, but also higher salary). This will be a bit RNG, you can get lucky and get it quick, or this can take some time, as the members available for hire will be random and will cycle every in-game week or two (look it up as often as possible). There are some things to help your luck though:
    • Spend at least one point in each Crew branch to have all professions unlocked, this will make all professions available to hire, even if you don't really need them
    • Hire Legendary staff as soon as they're available, but do note that you need to have 4 legendary staff members active simultaneously and you cannot have 2 of the same professions active at the same time (for example 2 mechanics). That means the 4 Legendary staff need to be of different professions to have them active and unlock this trophy
  • Change team 3 times

You can either do this legit while doing Career Mode and advancing between categories (WRC3 > WRC2 > WRC > WRC 2nd season contract with different team), or make it faster if you want with this 2nd method:
    • From main menu go to SEASON (not Career) and pick JWRC
    • At the rally menu allocate any tires and pick QUIT RALLY, keep doing this until season finishes
    • At the end of the season make sure you swap to a different team for the new seson
    • Repeat twice more for the trophy
  • Create a Ghost in Quick Play

From Main Menu go to Quick Play, pick any rally/stage (shakedowns are the shortest), pick whatever car/conditions and complete the chosen stage. At the end your time will be uploaded to the leaderboards unlocking this trophy.
  • Download an online Ghost in Quick Play

After finishing a stage in Quick Play you will see a Leaderboard for the given stage. Just highlight any player, press cross.png, choose "Download Ghost" and this will pop
  • Complete 3 Special Stages with dynamic weather in Quick Play

From Main Menu go to Quick Play pick any rally/stage (shakedowns are the shortest), at the weather selection screen press square.png  for the dynamic weather conditions. Pick any of these and complete the stage. Do this 2 more times by restarting to get the trophy
  • Beat a Ghost

From Main Menu go to Quick Play pick any rally/stage (preferably a shakedown). After completing it you can either download your own ghost from Spooked trophy_bronze.png or filter out the leaderboard for some lower-tier player, download their ghost and beat it for the trophy
  • Win an Anniversary event

  • Drive over 200km in any mode

  • Drive over 500km in any mode

This is cumulative among all modes (I got the 200km trophy during one of the Anniversary events) and will come naturally on your way to platinum, just make sure you don't go for "short" rally duration in Career just to be safe
  • Perform a jump longer than 30m

This will most probably be one of the first trophies you will unlock. I literally got this on my test run, after which the game adjusts difficulty level suggested for players skills. If by some reason you don't unlock it earlier, just wait for Rally Finland in Career, or go to Quick Play/Rally Finland, pick a powerful car and go flat-out
  • Complete a race in Co-driver mode as the driver

This is an online co-op trophy, but it's almost impossible to find other players available in lobbies, so boosting is suggested. This requires you just to complete a stage in co-op as a driver, just drive from start to finish and the trophy will pop. Make use of the Boosting Thread to find a boosting partner and get this in no-time
  • Complete a race in Co-driver mode as the co-driver

This is an online co-op trophy, but it's almost impossible to find other players available in lobbies, so boosting is suggested. This requires you just to complete a stage in co-op as a co-driver, it's based on a QTE, but you don't actually need to be precise or do anything in a matter of fact, just wait till the driver carries you to the finish and the trophy will pop. Make use of the Boosting Thread to find a boosting partner and get this in no-time
  • Cross-mount tyres in Career mode between 2 Special Stages

At the begining of the rally, at the service area allocate your tires in a way so you will have at least 2 tires of different compound (Hard/Soft). At the tire selecion screen make sure you cross mount different tires at front and rear (4 example hard tires on left front + right rear and soft tires at right front + left rear). The trophy will pop as soon as you do this, so you can switch your tires back for a single compound again to run the next stage normally
  • Finish a rally with at least a 30s lead

This will most likely happen naturally, even on default difficulty (100/150) I managed to win some rallies by minutes to spare sometimes. If you don't manage to gain this kind of advantage you can always tone down the difficulty and get it with your eyes closed
  • Create a Club

From Main Menu go to Multiplayer > Club and just create your own club, preferably with 1 short event (Shakedown) and a minimal time limit which is 24hrs. Trophy will pop as soon as you do this
  • Participate in 20 Club games

From Main Menu go to Multiplayer > Club, here you can join 3 other clubs than your own you created earlier (as explained in Clan Leader trophy_bronze.png), just pick a club with a lower time limit and shortest stage selection (Shakedowns preferably). There are 2 big Japanese clubs that host shakedown stages daily, just filter out clubs based on number of players and you'll find them easily. You can participate in 4 Club games per day (that includes your own club), so this trophiy will take 5 days to complete. Just make sure you don't quit a club once you finish it's event(s) or it will not count. Club game counts as completed only when the timer reaches zero and the event ends/restarts
  • Win Bronze in at least 10 challenges

  • Win Gold in at least 10 challenges

This mode is something like Licenses from Gran Turismo series, but way easier. It's basically Training / Maintenance / Extreme Conditions events taken from the Career and put into a different mode, but this time you will be using preset cars for each challenge. I just did the first ten for the trophy, but if you're finding any challenge too difficult, you can always skip it and try another one. This will unlock after getting gold in any 10 challenges
  • Complete 12 Anniversary mode events

You can access this mode by pressing dpad_left.png in the main menu. It's a bit like challenges, but unlike these it uses only the classic cars and real, classic rally stages. Note that there is no difficulty setting here, so you need to complete these events in default difficulty, which means this will probably be the hardest trophy in the game (still very manageable though, so don't fret). This mode also brings a realistic touch, showing how safety was a bit disregarded back in the days and spectators flooded sides of special stages. Mind that hitting spectators will give you a 5 second penalty, so most of the times when hitting them you will probably not make it in time

Note: completing 12 Anniversary mode events is required to take part in the Career with your own private team (not required for any trophies), so if you're planning on doing that, this mode is the first you should aim for
  • Complete a full season in Season mode

Season mode is a Career mode minus management aspect, so just racing and nothing else. You only need to complete the season, not win it, so just pick JWRC and keep skipping shakedowns/abandoning rallies until the season ends and the trophy unlocks.
