Introduction

White Knight Chronicles is a traditional style RPG with experience levelling and complete customization of the characters, with the ability to create your own Avatar to add to the group to enable you to become fully immersed in the game. The game was originally designed to have an MMORPG aspect on top of the single player storyline to allow your avatar to develop even further and take on the world in a slightly more literal sense. However with the servers shutting down on the 18th of June this year, it is unlikely that we will see any more online aspects to this game.

Step 1: Play the game

You will want to play the game and focus only on that. There is no need to worry about anything else at the moment.

Step 2: Second playthrough

Play the game again, but this time focus on collecting items. You can get about 4 or 5 sets of armour at GR7 and GR8 level which you will find very useful later. This can be done in about 4 hours if you rush through the game skipping cutscenes and not exploring.

Step 3: Build Guild Rank (GR)

You will start off at Guild Rank 1 and not gain any ranks from completing the story. The story will only build your level, however this is needed to start working on Guild rank. At the start you will just want to complete quests that you can access. As you start progressing to GR4 or 5 begin to go back to the older quests and try to complete them with an S rank. S ranks are gotten by completing the mode as fast as you can, by killing lots of enemies, or by killing the hardest enemies there are available. Use neoseeker to find the specific quest and it will tell you how to S rank that quest. If you struggle on S Ranking a quest, move on and come back when you're a higher rank.

You want to get to GR12 as soon as possible but you need to focus on other trophies too. Best Served Cold 2 is best for exp although until GR10 you will struggle to solo this (although I'll give you tips later). But you want to focus on item quests just as equally. Pick bosses that have rare items you need and complete those quests too. You do not need S ranks on these quests although obviously completing each quest once with an S rank is needed so try to do that as best you can. If you struggle with one quest, don't worry.

For S ranks, remember that the blue (bonus) quests are harder than the yellow (standard) to s rank, even if they are the same guild rank. However a bonus quest at GR7 is usually easier than a standard quest at GR10. Focus some energy on S ranks but you won't get the trophy till much later.

Step 4: Gold Star

You will need to get the rebirth trophy at GR10. (Master all 8 skills). I suggest you use sprog cleaning 2 once you've rebirthed to get from level 35 to 50 in about 2 hours. You will also get a substantial amount of money for doing this. Make sure you plan to finish with the skills you will wish to use for the rest of the game.

Step 5: Gold Medal

To get this to work in the same way as it did when you were working towards GR10: Complete quests you need, along with quests you have found to be quick, in order to rank up. This is the best way to get guild rank, and as you need items it is probably easier to go for them now rather than after you reach GR12. Only bind what you need, such as armor. Don't spend your money yet as it'll make the Gold Coin Purse trophy much harder.

Step 6: Perfectionist's Badge

You probably won't get all 50 S-Ranks till you're at least GR12, depending on if you've played the game online much before the server shut down. This will be quite hard to do without a party behind you for support, however with enough practice, character building, and learning the missions, a lot of them are fairly easy to run through quickly.

Step 7: Item Maniac

Items/materials. You should have a lot of items now but any that you don't have but need for binding you'll have to go out and get. Check the checklists to see what you need to get (FAQ again or download the table) and go specifically for those items. As you don't need GR anymore you don't have to complete the quest unless the items you need are only from completing the quests or bosses. For example you can start the quest, get various flowers or ores found at the beginning and quit out. Other materials will need to be gotten by kills.

Step 8: Gold Coin Purse

Money. Only after doing all of this should you go for money. Try not to bind much before getting this trophy since it's hard enough as it is. To get money you want to complete BSC3 repetitively. You get about 25000 gilda a run, so repeat till you have about 6 million total. After you have this, make a second save to load from for binding and sell all your equipment. You should be over the 10 million mark. If not, reload the save file that has your equipment and keep going for however much you were off by.

Step 9: Phibianacci's Diamond

Binding. This should be the only set of trophies left now, or you may still have to collect Equipment Maniac (Don't worry if you do, it should come along the way). You need about 4 million gold to complete it so you should have plenty, plus the items you have. If you're missing items, you can buy them if you don't have enough or complete the quests where they are found, or skip the item if you really want to although it is advised you stick to the easy items as the harder ones get expensive fast. The only hard items you should have to bind are those you used previously.

    Secret trophies

    • A crown reserved for one who is perfect in every regard. Rumored to have once been worn by an ancient king.

      Unlock all trophies.

    • Collect 100 different items. A bronze ornament in the shape of a bag.

A simple trophy to get. You'll probably get this before the end of the story. The "items" are things which go into your item storage such as potions, herbs, ores and materials. Equipment (armour and weapons) do not count towards this trophy. See Item Maniac for more information.

    • Collect 300 different items. A silver ornament in the shape of a bag.

A fairly simple trophy to get. You'll probably get this by Guild Rank 7-8. The "items" are things which go into your item storage such as potions, herbs, ores and materials. Equipment (armour and weapons) do not count towards this trophy. See Item Maniac for more information.

    • Collect 600 different items. A gold ornament in the shape of a bag.

This trophy should come naturally while going for binds. You will need a lot of items in order to get that trophy and therefore this trophy will come alongside it. However 600 items is a lot and will take some considerable searching to find them all. To get items you need to search trees, rocks and many other objects around the world that sparkle, glow or have bugs flying around them. Remember that each item must be unique. You can guess approximately how many items you have by using the item storage page. As only unique items are shown (duplicates are represented by x # after the name) multiply the number of pages by 10 to approximately work out the number of items you have.

Use the following list of items to find any items you are in need of. Only go for ones you need to collect for binding and if you still don't have enough, then and only then search for other items that you may not have found before.

    • Collect 50 different types of weapons / armor. A bronze ornament in the shape of a sword.

A simple trophy to get. You'll probably get this before the end of the story. The "equipments" are things which go into your weapon storage such as armour, weapons and accessories. Basically anything you can wear. Items that sound like equipment (eg. Troll Armour Suit) do not count towards this trophy. See Equipment Maniac for more information.*

    • Collect 200 different types of weapons / armor. A silver ornament in the shape of a sword.

A simple trophy to get. You'll probably get this by Guild Rank 8. The "equipments" are things which go into your weapon storage such as armour, weapons and accessories. Basically anything you can wear. Items that sound like equipment (eg. Troll Armour Suit) do not count towards this trophy. See Equipment Maniac for more information.*

    • Collect 500 different types of weapons / armor. A gold ornament in the shape of a sword.

This trophy will come alongside binding, however while you are expected to bind 450 different types of weapons and armour, this only means use 450 different recipes and chances are you will only create 300-350 unique pieces of equipment. Don't worry however. There are plenty of equipment pieces that you can purchase from shops. There are 4 types of shops, weapon, armour, accessory and binding. Purchase weapons, armour and accessories (especially accessories) that you haven't heard the name of before and you should get this trophy if you don't get it through binding. Accessories are the best way to boost this trophy as you won't be buying duplicates as the only accessories you can bind are capes and glasses. Rings and Earrings you will not have created, and there are lots of them for sale.

Be aware that you can only hold 250 pieces of equipment in your storage at once (minus inventory slots) so you will have to sell some of your equipment in order to get this trophy.
    • Learn one entire set of Skills. Its bronze light shines from the soul of the wearer.

There are 8 skills to learn in White Knight Chronicles. You can master any of them. You need to master 1 of them to get this trophy. Mastering the skill means that you have unlocked every ability within that skill tree. While this is not the most effective way to learn for later development, it is needed for this trophy. Just pick the skill you're happiest with and aim to master that. You need to spend approximately 90 skill points on 1 skill to master it. You can only get this trophy with your Avatar.

    • Learn eight entire sets of Skills. Its gold light shines with the power of every technique.

Of course, at no point in the game will you have enough skill points to master every skill at once. You will need to go through a process which is known as rebirthing. Once your avatar reaches level 50 you get a new quest. Select Van Haven Waste from the world map and pick Sinca Reincarnation Pilgrimage. Completing this quest puts you back to level 35 however gives you an extra 40 skill points as a bonus each time you do it (for 4 rebirths). This means you go from a maximum of 200 skill points without any rebirths to a maximum of 360 skill points after all 4. Of course you can continue rebirthing after your 4th rebirth but you won't get any extra skill points from it. A skill that has been completed is resembled with a star next to it. If you do not complete the skill before rebirthing then you will have to start from the beginning in order to master it.

This allows you to master more skills at a time and if you plan it properly you can master all the skills before your final rebirth to give you the best advantage when you rebirth a final time.

Use the following interactive checklist to plan out your builds in order to maximise your effectiveness in creating character builds. It displays what previous skills are needed to unlock later skills and builds up total SP needed to create all the selected skills.

    • Slay 100 monsters. A trophy in the shape of a monster's horn.

A very straightforward trophy. This should come easily during your first playthrough of the story.
    • Slay 3000 monsters. A trophy in the shape of a devil's horn.

This trophy should be fairly straightforward too. 3000 monsters may seem like a lot but this should come around Guild Rank 5 or 6. It won't take you long to get this trophy.

    • Slay 10,000 monsters. A trophy in the shape of a dragon god's horn.

Again, you do not need to do anything in order to get this trophy. 10,000 is a lot of monsters but you will be killing a lot more than this in order to get your platinum. This should come naturally at about Guild Rank 9 or 10.

    • Complete five quests with an S rank. A badge presented by your clients.

You must complete 5 quests and get rewarded the "S" rank when completing them. The S rank comes from completing the game with minimal flaws. See Perfectionist's Badge for more information.
    • Complete 20 quests with an S rank. A badge presented by your clients.

You must complete 20 quests and get rewarded the "S" rank when completing them. The S rank comes from completing the game with minimal flaws. See Perfectionist's Badge for more information.
    • Complete 50 quests with an S rank. A badge presented by the Adventurer's Guild.

You must complete 50 quests and get rewarded the "S" rank when completing them. The S rank comes from completing the game with minimal flaws. This will take a lot of time and will be tricky without a team (as the quests were designed to be completed with teams). The easiest way to do this trophy is to get up to a high guild rank and then go back and complete the lower level quests. The standard quests (yellow) are mostly easier to S rank than the additional quests (blue). You will however have to complete at least a few additional quests to S rank in order to get this trophy as only 49 of the standard quests are completable without a team. It has been confirmed that the patch with additional quests can be downloaded without having to play the game online first which makes this trophy easier.

Here is BrightBlade's guide for suggested quests to S rank Solo, with point margins and GR.
    • Bind 50 different items. A stone fashioned by the Don's underlings. ...It's rather moist.

Binding in this game means collecting items and upgrading weapons and putting them together to make a new weapon. It's quite expensive if you try to buy all the items so you'll want to scavenge/harvest (collect from sparkling, glowing or otherwise emphasised spots) as much as possible, as well as relying on drops. Later on when binding you will need rarer items and will instead have to focus on killing specific enemies, or harvesting certain spots to get items. The Phibianacci's Diamond is the last trophy you should focus on as it's in direct conflict with Gold Coin Purse. You will want to focus only on the higher level items you need to to be effective in combat.

    • Bind 200 different items. A gem stone rumored to have been made by Anura herself. ...You don't want to know where this has been.

    • Bind 450 different items. A gem stone fashioned by Don Phibianacci himself. ...But why is it sticky?

450 is a massive number of items to bind so you will want to make this the last trophy you do, so you can spend the 10 million that you have earned up to that point (or at least the 6 million) with no fear of it impairing your progress. You will still have to go out of your way to collect items but it is by far less strenuous when you have the money to spend. Although you will only have access to low level shops, you'll find that buying things like upgrade pearls will help you a lot when you have to.

Below is a downloadable checklist which helps you to keep track of items you've bound previously, how many more you need to do, and suggests the "best" items for you to bind (the less extravagant, less expensive ones). Use it as best you can, and if you can't figure it out then it at least provides what equipment needs which items to make it.

    • Raise Guild Rank to 4. A small prize from the Guild.

This is fairly straightforward. Just complete all the Guild Rank quests that are available at your level. At lower ranks there won't be much difficulty difference. You should be able to complete the quests quite easily alone.
    • Raise Guild Rank to 8. A respectful award from the Guild.

Similar to before. Guild Rank 8 will take you a fair while but not that long in comparison to 12. The quests will get more difficult as you go along however you shouldn't have too much trouble completing quests at your Guild Rank.

    • Raise Guild Rank to 12. A high honor from the Guild.

This is the one you will struggle with. You will need to get a total of 22 Million guild points to get this trophy. That is a lot and is what will take the most of your time. Once you reach Guild Rank 8 quests will start getting harder to complete. You will want to focus on quests such as Best Served Cold 2 (see tips and tricks for how to complete this solo at a lower level), Home of the Knave 2 and any other quests you find good. This will be very hard to do solo and will take you a long time (a good 400 to 500 hours to complete) but if you can persevere then you will have completed the longest trophy and will be in good standing for completing all the rest.
    • Earn 100,000 guilder. A coin purse filled with hope...

This should come with playing at about Guild Rank 5. 100,000 is a lot of money to get over the course of the story but you'll find that once you start questing you'll get quite a bit of money without trying. Of course this is the easiest of the money trophies to obtain.

    • Earn 1,000,000 guilder. A coin purse filled with hopes and dreams.

This will come at about Guild Rank 10. 1 million guilder is a lot of money but shouldn't need any farming. It should come while you're going for Guild Rank 12. Just make sure you don't spend too much on binding and you should get this before Guild Rank 10.

    • Earn 10,000,000 guilder. A coin purse filled with...a ton of money!

You won't get this trophy naturally. 10 million Guilder is a lot of money, even among online players and if you use some of your money to bind items you will find it depleting very quickly. Best Served Cold 3 is the best way to gain money where you will get approximately 25,000 guilder per run when selling items. However you can't do this solo until at least Guild Rank 11 so you will find that this is one of the later trophies. There is a trick which you can use where you make a separate, second save file and on that one you sell all your items. This may get you the trophy but leave you itemless, so you will have to load your first save file to get the items back. This will only work if you have been saving up items and have about 6 million already in your savings.
