Introduction:

War Tech Fighters is a mech based action pseudo rpg. You can control your mech either in first or third person view and have an array of attack options. The story is your typical Gundam type stuff but the action is pretty solid and generally fun. There are three mech types you can choose from the start of the game: the fast and deadly Hawk, the do it all Lynx, and the tank Rhino, as you progress through the game you’ll be able to upgrade your preferred choice. It doesn't matter which one you go with but the guide will assume you chose Lynx, because I did.

Controls:

Movement is standard, is forward/backward/strafing and the is your aiming. You fire your fast weapons with , your heavy weapon with and you missiles with . You also have a shield which can be used with , can boost with and can engage other mechs or perform executions with .

Here you'll need to replay the mission Down to the Ground if you missed out on Fallout and start 3 new games, one for each of the two mech types you didn't choose at the start and one for New Game +. Finally in new game + equip the Black Mantis armor set and enjoy your new plat.

  • Fast and swift!
  • Heavy and tough!

46 trophies ( 34  5  )

  • Complete all other trophies

If you are following the Guide, you will get your brand new shiny Platinum after equipping the Black Manties Set.

  • Play with a Rhino War Tech

See Virtue stands in the middle!

  • Play with a Hawk War Tech

See Virtue stands in the middle!

  • Play with a Lynx War Tech

Start a new game and play through the mini-tutorial that is required. Once you have completed it you will get to pick which mech type you want to use. The trophy should pop once you are on the ship which acts as your main screen while playing. You will have to do this three times, once for each mech type.

  • Buy your first upgrade

In the upgrades tab, you can create your mech mixing and matching various pieces or simply using sets. Just purchase a piece using your material. You’re likely to do this many many times throughout the game.

  • Complete the "Home sweet home" mission

    Story related, cannot be missed.

Once you complete the mission, the trophy should pop.

  • Complete the "Burning hot" mission

    Story related, cannot be missed.

Once you complete the mission the trophy should pop.

  • Execute your first enemy

You will get this during the mini-tutorial. As part of it is to execute an enemy. If for some reason it doesn't pop, then you will get a lot of executions during the game so hit when you have an ship enemy at low health. A fun little animation will play to kill the enemy.

  • Win your first close combat in a mission

You will likely get this during the mini-tutorial as you engage in close combat with another mech. It could be possible not to get it there as the enemy can disengage. Don't worry though this acts pretty similar to Merciless in that there are a lot of opportunities and you hit to engage in close combat. You can do this against all non-boss mechs no matter their health, just make sure to kill them during the close combat and if you fail to do so you can engage with them again.

  • Use the quantum wave for the first time

    Story related, cannot be missed.

You'll get this in the "Freedom for Deimos" mission.

  • Find and save Sule

    Story related, cannot be missed.

You will get this during the mission "Damsel in Distress".

  • Replay a mission in the simulator

You can get this at any time, just go to the simulator and replay a mission. It doesn't matter which one, you'll likely get this while going after collectables as you may not get all of them during your first playthrough of all the levels.

  • Win your first challenge

Challenges unlock after you complete missions and are located in the simulator. Simply pick one and beat it. I suggest doing the Netrunner challenge but not until after you have an upgraded mech, I preferred the Archangel Mk 1.

  • Develop your first R&D project

In the Research tab, you can spend the materials that you find. Simply spend them on a research project. You'll be doing a lot of these throughout the game.

  • Complete the "Tabula rasa" mission

    Story related, cannot be missed.

Once you complete the mission "Tabula rasa", the trophy will pop.

  • Complete all the tutorials in the simulator

There are four tutorials in the simulator that teach you how to play the game. Complete all of them and the trophy will pop.

  • Fight in a low-orbit battle

    Story related, cannot be missed.

Trophy will pop while playing the mission "Burning the Bridges II".

  • Buy your first sword

You can purchase swords in the upgrades tab under weapons. Simply pick one you like and purchase it. You will also get this when you buy wraith if you haven't purchased one before then.

  • Buy your first shield

You can purchase shield in the upgrades tab under weapons. I suggest waiting until you can get Faith as your first. The healing is the best part and is available much earlier than the reaper shield which is better but won’t be available until later in the game.

  • Develop the laser technology

There is one piece to this project and it can be found in the mission "Burning the Bridges III". Once collected research the project in special projects and the trophy will pop.

  • Develop the magnetic technology

There is one piece to this project and it can be found in the mission "Freedom for Deimos". Once collected research the project in special projects and the trophy will pop.

  • Develop the anti-matter technology

There is one piece to this project and it can be found in the mission "The Needle in the Haystack". Once collected research the project in special projects and the trophy will pop.

  • Get your first prize in survival mode

This is available in the simulator and there are eventually three survival arenas available. To get a prize you'll need to complete at least three rounds. Do this once to get the trophy. The trophy will pop once you fail after completing the minimum requirements.

  • Equip the Mantis set

There are three pieces to the Mantis set, one each can be found on the missions: Incoming!, Burning the Bridges I, Starving the Wolf. Once you have all the pieces you'll need to research the set in special projects, then you can equip it in the upgrades tab to get the trophy.

  • Battle the Black Hound for the first time

    Story related, cannot be missed.

This trophy pops after beating the mission "Hound and Fire".

  • Witness a nuclear attack

This trophy pops if you fail the first time objective in the "Down to the Ground" mission. You'll have to wait four minutes for the mission to fail, then dying will not pop the trophy.

  • Equip the Fury set

There are three pieces to the Fury set, one each can be found on the missions: Burning the Bridges III, Tabula Rasa and Rest in Pieces. Once you have all the pieces you'll need to research the set in special projects, then you can equip it in the upgrades tab to get the trophy.

  • Find the first special project

During most of the missions until about the 2/3 point of the game, there will be between 1 and 3 collectables. These save on collection so you can go back and do them in the simulator if you like. Some are necessary for trophies while others aren't. I suggest researching the special project radar expansion upgrades early and often to help find these as they are usually of the beaten path.

  • Find all the parts of a special project

You'll get this at some point when you complete one of the many special projects needed for the plat. See any of the "equip x" trophies.

  • Fight with Starburst

    Story related, cannot be missed.

This will pop after completing the mission "The Dragons Treasure".

  • Meet the miners droids

    Story related, cannot be missed.

This will pop mid-mission at the first checkpoint in the mission "The Needle in a Haystack".

  • Help the miners corporation

    Story related, cannot be missed.

This will pop mid-mission after re-routing the power to the collectors in the mission "Hard Work".

  • Use a miners' remote energy generator

    Story related, cannot be missed.

This will pop mid-mission after you repay your debt in the mission "The Needle in a Haystack".

  • Equip the Reaper set

There are four pieces to the Reaper set one each can be found in the following missions: Untold Secrets, The Needle in a Haystack, The Dragons Treasure and Blind Flight. Once all are collected you must research the set then you can equip it in the upgrades tab.

  • Equip a Supernova Ray gun

There are three pieces to this armor but single pieces can be equipped unlike some the sets. One piece can be found in each of these missions: Preparing for Battle, The Needle in a Haystack and The Dragons Treasure. Once all pieces are found, you need to research it then purchase the piece you want to equip from the upgrades tab and equip it for the trophy.

  • Dismantle your first component

As you start to get various sets, you'll find that the upgrades you've unlocked become kind of useless so go back to one of them and hold to get the option to dismantle it and get some materials back.

  • Equip "Wrath"

To equip the wraith you must first find all the pieces to the Reaper set and then research the set, see Here comes the Reaper! Now you need to unlock the wraith in the upgrades tab, it will cost over 9,000 material. Once unlocked equip it for the trophy.

  • Witness Andreas' courage

    Story related, cannot be missed.

This will pop after you complete the third arm objective in the "H.E.L." mission.

  • Complete the game and start a New Game + campaign

Once you complete the game exit to the main menu. From here you’ll have the option to start a new game +, do so and the trophy will pop.

  • On a New Game +, Equip the Black Mantis set

In New Game +, go to the upgrade station and find the Black Mantis armor underneath the regular Mantis Armor - simply equip it for the trophy. If you don't have the Mantis armor from your regular playthrough the Black Mantis armor may not be available.

Note: It has been reported but I was unable to confirm that either a glitch or a new feature following an update may occur where the Black Mantis is not available at the start of New Game+ even after having the Mantis set. If this happens it may require an additional 5 hours of play on your New Game+ save to unlock as the Mantis and Anti Matter tech show as needed to unlock the Black Mantis. My old saves still had everything but this is something to be aware of as it could add a fair bit of time to the plat all things considered.

  • Equip one of the War Machine components

There are three pieces to this project before you can purchase any of the components. The components are sold separately so pick whichever you want once they are unlocked. You'll need to find the three pieces first then unlock War Machine in the research tab. Now once you purchase a component from upgrades, equip it for the trophy. I went with the arms but it doesn't matter. The pieces can be found in the missions: Burning the Bridges I, Starving the Wolf and Hard Work.
