  • Do cheat codes disable trophies?: No known cheats
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: No difficulty setting (besides 8-bit gamer mode in the Smith's Challenge, for which you only need to redo the 10th mission on this difficulty setting)

Introduction:
This game is in a way a variation on the classic game "Memory" (which coincidentally is also one of the available minigames). I say this because, due to it's speed, this game requires you to memorize all the things you have to do and when and where you have to do it. The consequence of this is that you will have to replay many of the Zones before you'll have mastered them. Sadly due to this, I can not possibly think of more tips that could help you, other than: keep trying and you'll succeed.

There are a few bugs you might encounter. Luckily all of them are easily fixed:

  • You might experience a bug where the River and/or Neutrino Speed Is Too Slow trophie(s) won’t pop. If this happens, simply collect another survivor in a Zone or Bonus Mission to unlock River and/or replay a critical urgency Zone and earn the “Perfect” rank again to unlock Neutrino Speed Is Too Slow.
  • A bug might occur where playing through all the stages in 8-bit mode, without having beaten them in casual mode first, doesn't unlock the ingame award for the Navigator trophy. Should this happen: replay the last level (10) in casual mode and the ingame award should unlock.
  • A bug might occur where getting a trophy doesn't unlock the associated ingame award (other than the Navigator trophy, see above). Should this happen: go to the main menu, press the save button in the upper right corner, completely close the game and restart it, the ingame award should now be unlocked.

Steps:
1. Beat all 50 zones and earn the PERFECT score

Play through all the Zones and try to get the “Perfect” ranking immediately by:

  • Finishing the game within the fastest time limit
  • Rescuing every survivor
  • Getting more than the highest score requirement (by killing enemies and collecting items/survivors)
  • Not dying, if you do: hit start --> restart and try again

Once you've tried enough times to make a Zone your own, you will succeed in getting a "perfect" ranking.

A good advice is to primarily use to kill enemies, instead of using , unless a situation has so many enemies so that the weapon under is better suited (this only happens 2 or 3 times though!).

Once you’ve gotten a “Perfect” ranking on all 50 Zones, you’ll have unlocked the following trophies:

Velocity
Face Palm Napalm
Nakatomi
Deadly
Manhattan
Double Whammy
Triple Whammy
Quadruple Whammy
A Perfect 10
Ahmad Dash
Unstoppable
Champion
Mastered
Penultimate
We Don't Need Roads...
Very Deadly
Neutrino Speed Is Too Slow
River
Perfectionist
Elite

2. Unlock and succeed in every bonus mission, play every minigame

During your playthrough, you should have collected a fair few bonus medals, if you haven’t collected them all, here is the list where to find them:

1. Zone 2
2. Zone 5
3. Zone 6
4. Zone 9 (Crab Nebula)
5. Zone 12 (Viper's Trial)
6. Zone 14 (Smith's Challenge)
7. Zone 16
8. Zone 19
9. Zone 21
10. Zone 23
11. Zone 25
12. Zone 27
13. Zone 30
14. Zone 32
15. Zone 34
16. Zone 35
17. Zone 39
18. Zone 44 (Rama Remembers)
19. Zone 47 (James vs Bolivar)
20. Zone 50 (Enders Game)

See Bonus and secret area medal locations (incl. screenshots) for screenshots of the locations.

Beat them to unlock the following trophies:

Taking All The Credit
Slacker
Perseus
Navigator

3. Collect every remaining in-game award (mop up)

Collect the remaining trophies and awards in the game, which should be:

  • Hit boost 100 times in a single Zone
  • Find every secret area (see the Bonus and secret area medal locations (incl. screenshots))
  • Using the portal () teleport 1000 times (as this probably won't come naturally)
  • Beat Smith's Challenge on hard (you only have to complete the 10th stage in 8-bit mode to unlock this)
  • Beat the 18th Zone again, but this time without collecting the weapon upgrade
  • Beat the 21st Zone again, but this time without collecting any survivors
  • Find the wallpaper, options and enemies secrets

Completing these will earn you the following trophies:

Kangaroo Fuel
Discoverer
Explorer
The Force
Dark Side

Completing all ingame awards will grant you:
Ripley

and consequently

31 trophies ( 10  14  )

  • Because this player earned it.

  • Complete a zone without letting go of boost.

This trophy will most likely come naturally. If it doesn't: don't have the button pressed before starting the Zone or the trophy won't pop. You have a little over a second after the Zone has started to press and keep holding the button. Zone 1 is the first Zone where you can get this trophy.

  • Get trapped and killed by the scroll.

This trophy will come naturally. Should you want to get it early: let your ship get stuck under a wall and let the scroll catch up on you. Zone 1 is the first Zone where you can get this trophy.

  • Hit boost 100 times in a zone.

This trophy won’t come naturally. I suggest to get this in Zone 1, by continuously pressing (and letting go of) the button.

  • Destroy 500 Zetachron ships.

    See “Elite".

  • Discover at least one secret area.

    See “Explorer".

  • Discover all the secret areas.

The secret area’s can be found in the following Zones:
    1: Zone 17
    2: Zone 22
    3: Zone 26
    4: Zone 28
    5: Zone 32
    6: Zone 35
    7: Zone 39
    8: Zone 40
    9: Zone 45
    10: Zone 49

See Bonus and secret area medal locations (incl. screenshots) for screenshots of the locations.

  • Disable two switches in quick succession.

    See “Quadruple Whammy".

  • Use pulse bombs to gain 50 multikills.

This trophy will come naturally if you use the right stick to kill enemies (which I highly recommend).

  • Smash 500 pieces of glass.

    This trophy will come naturally.

  • Complete Zone 18 without upgrading weapons.

I suggest to first complete this Zone as normal (preferably getting the “Perfect” rank before continuing). After that: replay the level and don’t collect the weapon upgrade item (found on the right side of the level). You don’t have to get a “Perfect” ranking to get this trophy.

  • Complete zone 21 without rescuing any survivors.

I suggest to first complete this Zone as normal (preferably getting the “Perfect” rank before continuing). After that: replay the level and don’t collect any of the survivors (which will require some dodging/teleporting).

  • Disable three switches in quick succession.

    See “Quadruple Whammy".

  • Get 140,000 points in the credits minigame.

You can get this trophy by going to “Credits” on the main menu. Just shoot as many letters of the credits as you can. You don’t have to destroy all the letters to get this trophy.

  • Beat the minesweeper minigame.

Go to: “Flight Computer” --> “Mines” and beat the minigame. Keep trying and you’ll get better at it. Sometimes there’s no other way than to guess where a mine should be, for other tips I refer you to this website. If you're really stuck on this, this YouTube video does a really great job at explaining the game!

  • Disable four switches in quick succession.

This trophy will come on your quest to perfecting all Zones. You have about 2-3 seconds time to hit the 4 switches.

  • Destroy 1000 Zetachron ships.

    See “Elite”.

  • Complete the reaction test minigame.

After finding the 5th bonus medal, go to: “Flight Computer” --> “Missions” --> “Viper’s Trial” and complete the minigame. This is a version of Snake, many of you probably know well from the old Nokia phones, you have to collect 20 dots to get this trophy. Try to avoid making large circles, instead try to make curling waves from the top to the bottom, but not all the way to the bottom. Follow your own tracks around the screen.

  • Earn a PERFECT medal on Zone 10.

    See “Perfectionist”.

  • Earn a PERFECT medal on Zone 46.

    See “Perfectionist”.

  • Earn a PERFECT medal on Zone 48.

    See “Perfectionist”.

  • Achieve above average XP on every zone.

    See “Perfectionist”.

  • Earn a PERFECT medal on Zone 50.

    See “Perfectionist”.

  • Reach Zone 50.

Achieve 5500xp to open Zone 50 up for play, once you enter the Zone this trophy will pop.

  • Complete Zone 50.

Finish Zone 50 in under a minute, there's no need to get a “Perfect” ranking.

  • Complete the Smith's Challenge minigame.

After finding the 6th bonus medal, go to: “Flight Computer” --> “Missions” --> “Smith’s Challenge” and complete the minigame. This is a remake of the classic game “Lunar Lander”, complete the 10 stages to get this trophy (and in addition: after this you only need to complete the last stage on 8-bit gamer mode to unlock the ingame award, needed -amongst others- for the Ripley trophy!). A (very) general tip is to try and use the shield as little as possible as it burns up your fuel in mere seconds, also try to shoot down the enemies right away and from as far away as possible. Be patient, you’ll get through the stages eventually!

  • Destroy 5000 Zetachron ships.

This trophy will come naturally within your first playthrough. All kinds of enemies are included, so not just the flying enemies, but the (stationary) turrets as well.

  • Earn a PERFECT medal on all Critical Urgency zones.

    See “Perfectionist”.

  • Rescue every survivor.

Rescue all survivors in all 50 Zones (will come naturally, as this is required for a "Perfect" ranking).

  • Earn a PERFECT medal for every zone.

You will get a “Perfect” ranking when you:

    • Finish the game within the fastest time limit
    • Rescue every survivor
    • Get more than the highest score requirement (by killing enemies and collecting items/survivors)
    • Don’t die, if you do: hit start --> restart and try again
  • Collect every in-game award in Velocity Ultra.

Get all awards available in the game, which includes:

Completing all the (remaining) bonus missions, most of them require you to avoid hitting the walls and getting to the finish within a set time period. Others are (not including the bonus missions discussed above):
    • Bonus mission #4:
      Crab Nebula (Coconut Crab):
Don't try to get all the items, you just have to make it past the 6 levels, your score doesn't matter!
    • Bonus mission #18:
      Rama Remembers (Memory):
Just complete one game, it doesn't matter which player wins.
    • Bonus mission #19:
      James vs Bolivar (Bomberman):
Just complete one game, it doesn't matter which player wins.
    • Bonus mission #20:
      Enders Game (Space Invaders):
Try to destroy the aliens from one side and keep destroying more aliens from that side, as this slows down the downward movement of all the aliens. When you've destroyed about half of the aliens, get in some quick shots on the lowest row, be cautious though as the lowest row is the most dangerous one. Keep at it and you'll finish this minigame without much effort!

      Finding all secrets:
    • Wallpaper secret:
In the "Flight Computer" menu, hold and tap OS name.
    • Options secret:
Hold + + + in the options menu.
    • Enemies secret:
Go to the hostiles menu in the flight computer, go to the enemy 'Predator' and hold + + . It then says congratulations on top.

      Getting the remaining ingame awards:
    • Using the long distance portal () teleport 1000 times (as this probably won't come naturally)
    • Beat Smith's Challenge on hard (you only have to complete the 10th stage in 8-bit mode to unlock this)
    • Beat the 18th Zone again, but this time without collecting the weapon upgrade
    • Beat the 21st Zone again, but this time without collecting any survivors
