Tower of Guns is a rogue-lite game that requires you to make your way up a tower... filled with guns... Blast your way through the stages and beat the final boss in this really fast paced, and fun, little game.

  • Offline trophies: 12 (7, 4, 1)
  • Online trophies: 0
  • Approximate amount of time to 100%: 6-10 Hours
  • Minimum number of playthroughs: 100 (although most are only 15 seconds)

  • Glitched trophies: 2 (Chose All the Better Guns, Bluegrass Is Still The Best) Both are fixed with the latest patch.
  • Does difficulty affect trophies?: No
  • Do trophies stack?: No

Warning: There are 2 glitched trophies in this game, so make sure you've downloaded and installed the patch. With this installed, everything will unlock fine.

Step 1 -
Play the game and unlock some of the weapons and perks

Jump right in! Use whichever setup you'd like out of those available to you from the start, and give the game a go. You'll soon come to recognize the types of enemies, bosses, and the layout of some of the rooms, so use this to your advantage. I'd advise you to use The Consolation Charger gun that you get for dying 3 times as this will be your best friend until you've unlocked the Mini-LHC, it's a wide spread shotgun type weapon and, when leveled up, does a lot of damage.

In this step you should earn;

Trophy Farming 101
I'll Never Use That Pistol Again
One Down, More than One to Go!

Step 2 - Beat the game and 7 stages in Endless Mode

If you're already good enough, you may well have already done this! Make sure to set the game to Endless Mode on the main menu.

There are 5 randomized levels you need to complete to reach the final boss, and once you beat this boss you will be sent back to the start of the game. Complete a couple more stages to unlock another gun.

In this step you will earn;

But Did You REALLY Finish?
Eating Your Cake Too

Step 3 - Cleanup and 100 Run Grind

Firstly check which perks and guns you still need to unlock and work your way to getting those. Then make sure to check you've got Supertilt!, Start With a Jump... and At Least You'll Get a Trophy For It... Once you've got everything it's time to grind out the runs. This will take you a few hours, but you can make it very easy on yourself. Equip the handcannon weapon and just shoot at your feet as soon as you spawn, this will kill you and count as a run! (Thanks luke077 for this tip)

In this step you will earn;

At Least You'll Get A Trophy For It…
BlueGrass Is Still the Best

12 trophies ( 7  )

  • Kill over 350 Enemies in a Single Level

This sounds quite intimidating, but it really isn't. Just kill everything within a single level and you are more than likely going to get this. If you don't, just keep on killing everything in each level until you do!

  • Die while a Boss is Exploding

The hardest trophy in the game to get in my opinion, mainly because it's partially luck based. You may manage to have it happen by accident, and by playing naturally, but there are ways of making it pop if you don't want to risk it. You need to be dying while the boss is in it's glowing explosion state, after you've dealt the last bit of damage to him. A good way to do this is to be fighting one of the bosses that drops explosives on the floor that you can walk into. Take out most of the boss's health and then let your health get quite low. Then stand in one of the explosive bubbles and fire the last few shots to kill the boss, hopefully you will die as they do, getting you this trophy.

There is another way to do this involving killing yourself using the Hand Cannon weapon as the boss is dying. Here's a video showing you how that method is done courtesy of Superbuu3,

  • Unlock all the Perks

There are 11 Perks in total that you can unlock through playing the game. I'll go through them here detailing what they give you, and how to unlock them.

Bluegrass - Triple Jump from the start
    Already unlocked upon starting

Lift Ticket - Immune to fall damage
    Already unlocked upon starting

Fireforce - Immune to Environmental damage (Lava/Spikes/etc)
    Beat the Foundry level

The foundry is usually the second level you'll come to after the Foyer. This level is full of lava so be careful, defeat the boss and proceed on to get this.

Tooyoungtodie - Difficulty down, damage, armor, loot drops and xp all up
    Take 4000 Damage

You'll unlock this naturally, unless you are unbelievably good!

    Junkman - Loot never vanishes
Pick Up 451 Loot Items in 1 Life

You should get this naturally as you play. Each enemy you kill will drop loot, be it in the form of health, xp, item recharge orbs, or money and upgrades. Just run around and pick up everything you see, and you should get this in no time.

Major Moose - Immune to self damage
Take a +100 DMG hit (and survive)

This will probably come naturally as you play, once you've played a few levels and got your health up you will be facing tougher and tougher enemies. You will more than likely take a big hit at some point!

Tunnel Rat - Speed increased, armour down
    Fire 2999 shots

This will come naturally, you'll be firing a hell of a lot of shots so don't worry about keeping count.

Taco Terror - Allow's your gun to reach level 6
    Level Up 70 Times

This means to level up your weapon 70 times, not yourself. To level up you must collect the blue drops from the enemies, you can only level a gun up to level 5 so you will need to play through at least 14 times of leveling your gun to the maximum.

    Lifeline - Health Up
Find 5 Health Upgrades in 1 Life

Health Upgrades are the golden badges with the red cross in the center. You will get one of these after defeating most bosses, but you can also find them randomly in some rooms. The easiest way to get this is on your 50th run, as you are given a lot of health upgrades right at the start.

    Grease Pit - Luck Up
Find 15 Badges in 1 life

Badges are the gold loot drops that have a symbol in the middle of them. Each one offers a different boost (or decrease if you're unlucky!), the very easy way to get this perk is on your 50th run where you're given around 30 badges right at the start of the level.

Nightmare - Difficulty up, speed up, all enemies are champions
    Beat the Game

You need to beat the final boss and go through the elevator after doing so, see But Did You REALLY Finish? for tips on beating the game and the final boss.

  • See Chose All The Better Guns

  • Do as the description says! At the end of each level will be one of a variety of different bosses, beat one and you'll get this trophy. Most bosses are simple enough and just require you to strafe around them as you pick them off. Just look out for those with environmental traps in the bosses room.

  • Jump and Remain Airborn for 45 Seconds

A pretty tricky trophy by the sounds of it, but if you find the right room you will have no trouble at all getting this. There are several rooms throughout the game where this is very, very simple. In some rooms there is a beam of light that goes directly upwards, simply jump into this and stay inside the light as it carries you upwards. Eventually you'll reach the top but as long as you stay just above the beam of light you will stay afloat. Stay here for around a minute just to be sure and then land, soon after the trophy will ding!

Another method is to use the boost boxes (not sure what else to call them) to keep you in the air. There is one room which has dozens of them around the inside of a square area below where you start. If you jump into this area and then just move from box to box around the outside of this wall for a minute before landing, you will get the trophy.

If you're having trouble then wait until your 50th run, when you start this you will be given a huge amount of jump upgrades. With these you can get around 30 seconds of airtime just by using your regular jumps, mix these in with some of the boost boxes or beams of light and you will have no trouble getting this.

Just be warned, you must physically jump first to start the timer, if you walk into the beam of light or boost box and stay in the air for 45 seconds the trophy will not pop.

Here's a video showing you how to get it done, courtesy of Superbuu3

  • Finish a 10th run

See You Have Played This More Than Joe Has

  • Unlock all the Guns

    There are 10 guns in all, here's how to get them all;

    Peas-N-Carrots Pistol - Already Unlocked

Portable Pizza Oven - Already Unlocked

Babel Gun - Kill 24 Tanks

The tanks are large, flying and covered in spikes. You won't see them until a little ways into the game, but you will know one when you see one! There's not usually that many in a level, but this is cumulative so you will get them all eventually.

Blatherskite - Beat Stage 7 in Endless Mode

Endless mode allows you to carry on playing over and over again. To get this you will need to beat the initial 5 stages and the final boss, and then continue on and beat the next 2 stages. If you've managed to beat the final boss you should be alright with getting this.

Egon's Pride - Complete a Stage Under Par Time

Each level has a par time, and it will tell you this during the loading screen. Beating a par time is pretty simple as you don't need to kill everything in each room to progress. Just find the door, shoot it, and run on through. Try to kill a few things that are in your immediate path as you go to upgrade your gun, as the bosses are quite tough with a level 1 gun.

609mm Hand Cannon - Complete a Stage Without Taking Damage

This can be quite tricky, but there are some stages you can be randomly put in where there aren't even any enemies at all. Just make sure not to take any fall or environmental damage in these stages and you will get this.

Kegerator - Find 5 Secrets in One Level

Most rooms contain secrets that can be found hidden away somewhere. Most are quite tricky to get to and require multiple jumps, but there are others which are much easier to find. Here is a fantastic guide of where to find the secrets, including pictures, courtesy of Pantheon. I found the Gearworks to be the level with the easiest secrets to find.

Steam Community :: Guide :: A Guide to the Secrets of Tower of Guns

    Mini-LHC - Collect 22 Different Items

Items are different than badges in that you can only have one at a time, and can use it only when the item bar is filled (you can refill it with the yellow loot drops). Each boss you kill will drop an item, and you may find some from random drops as well. Keep beating bosses and playing through, and you should get this eventually.

Consolation Charger - Die 3 Times

Easy as pie, you'll die a lot more than this

Hedgehog - Kill 250 Spikeball Launchers

These are the smaller circular cannons that fire large black spiked balls at you. You'll meet a lot of these during your time in the tower so this should come naturally as you play.

  • Finish the game (non uberwin)

To get this trophy you must complete 5 stages and defeat the final boss, then take the elevator directly in front of you as you enter the final room with the hugbots. There is a second elevator in this room in a secret spot behind the regular one, this takes you to an optional secret boss and will not get you this trophy.

To make this easier for yourself, use the perk Tooyoungtodie as this turns the difficulty way down and means you should be able to fly through it quite easily. The weapons I had the most joy with were the Mini-LHC and the Consolation Charger. Both of these, when fully leveled up, pack a heck of a punch, but the LHC has the added advantage of slowing the enemies down once you hit them.

The final boss is slightly different to the other bosses as it will not be randomized since it is always the Gumball Machine. This boss has spinning walls that protect it, so you'll need to time your shots initially, but after a while of doing that, he will close himself in entirely. At this point, aim at the large ball of light above it, this will make the walls pull back and reveal the boss. Keep doing this until he dies!

To make it even easier for yourself you could attempt this on your 50th run, as you get given a huge amount of upgrades to your health and damage.

Gumball Tip: Thanks to Barra 333 for this.

One tip for the gumball machine - kill one of the small stationary enemies in the corners of the room and back right into their corner. From there, none of the other corner enemies can hit you, and you are also safe from gumballs circulating on the floor. The only hazard is when the flying enemies spawn, but as long as you have a decent amount of health, just take the damage while shooting them.

  • Finish a 50th run

See You Have Played This More Than Joe Has

  • Tilt 10 times in a row

Tilting sends you back to the start of the room, it's very useful if you get yourself stuck or lost somewhere. To tilt just press and hold , to get this trophy don't move and just keep tilting once you've respawned.

  • This does not mean you must finish the game and defeat the final boss 100 times. All you need to do is die 100 times. On regular difficulty this may be quite tricky to do quickly, but if you use the perk "Nightmare" the enemies will become ridiculously powerful and you should be able to die within 15 seconds of starting a new game! Just keep doing this over and over and eventually you will get this trophy and have gotten yourself the 100% if you've done everything else!

There's an even quicker way to do this, thanks to luke077 for the tip. Pick the handcannon, and at the start of your run, shoot at your feet until you die. Piece of cake
