Introduction

The Tony Hawk series is back, with the definitive version of the first two games in the series. If you were let down by recent games or remasters in the series, this game will more than make up for it. There's an enormous amount of content for completionists, the upgraded visuals look incredible and the core game is as fun as ever.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Play through THPS1 and THPS2 with a Created Skater

You're going to need to 100% both games in addition to completing the challenge collections for 3 Pro Skaters and a Created Skater. I suggest starting with your Created Skater first, as there are trophies and challenges related to setting up a Created Skater as well. Just focus on the goals and medals for each stage first, while collecting as many stat points as possible as you go along.

Completing this step will earn you the following trophies:

Creator
Summer's Over
Medallion
The Truth Is Out There
Grand Tourer
Back to School…. Again
4 for Four
Mess with the Bull….
Valhalla
#10 Downing Street
Shattered

Step 2: Cleaning up Skate Tour trophies

Once you've gotten 100% in both games, there will be a few trophies you can finish off fairly quickly if you didn't get them along the way.

Completing this step will earn you the following trophies:

...Get the horns
The Truth is In Here
BEEP BEEP
Bought the Farm
Ouch!
Can't Judge Me

Step 3: Working towards the Rookie, Veteran and Legend Challenge Collections

Completing all 3 of these collections will take a considerable amount of time, will take you through the game's various modes and will involve you completing the challenges for the other 3 Skaters you haven't done yet.

Completing this step will earn you the following trophies:

Matchup
Creative
Donut Mess with a Cop
Rookie of the Year
Going to the Vet
Legen-Dairy
Got There

Step 4: Clean Up

After all of that, you're still going to have quite a bit to do in terms of cleaning up, particularly in terms of doing all of the Gaps in the game, along with any score related trophies you haven't done yet.

Completing this step will earn you the following trophies:

ONE HUNDRED!
Paint the Town
Horsin' Around
Combination Blow
Shoot and Score
High as a Kite
You Broke the Scoreboard
Gap Master
Piece by Piece
Score Total
Combo Total
Pro Skater Returns

37 trophies ( 13  19  7  )

  • Complete all other Trophies!

Self-explanatory. Complete all other trophies in this list to earn the Platinum.
  • Unlock School in THPS1 Classic.

School is the second stage in THPS1. You unlock this by completing 4 objectives on the first stage, Warehouse. See Grand Tourer for a guide to help you with any of THPS1's objectives.
  • Earn a Medal on any competition park in Tours.

You'll earn this trophy over the course of completing either THPS game. There are six Competition stages total, three in each game:

    Skate Park
    Burnside
    Roswell
    Marseille
    Skatestreet
    The Bullring

You'll eventually need to earn a gold medal for each stage but for the purposes of this trophy, you just need a bronze. Once you get comfortable with the controls and upgrade your stats a bit, you'll have no issue finishing in the top three. Play conservatively when it comes to combos, and your top priority should be not bailing, as you'll lose points each time you do.
  • Unlock Roswell in THPS1 Classic.

Roswell is the last level you unlock in THPS1, which you unlock by completing objectives. Try to be thorough as you move from stage to stage and by the time you reach the Streets level, you should only need to complete a handful of objectives to unlock Roswell.
  • Complete every goal in THPS1 Classic and gain all gold medals.

If you played the original THPS1, the goals will likely come easy to you but for newcomers to the series, some may seem challenging. You can break up the goals into multiple attempts but for collectibles like SKATE letters or anything that requires you to do multiples of something, you'll need to do those in a single run. Focus on doing the score-related goals separately, then worry about the other stuff on its own so you have enough time.

If you need help, there are multiple guides online from both the original game and this guide which will cover the new additions for this version.
  • Unlock School II in THPS2 Classic.

School II is the second stage in THPS2. To unlock it, you'll need to complete 4 objectives on the first stage, Hangar. See Valhalla for a guide to help you with any of THPS2's objectives.
  • Earn any 4 Medals on competition parks in Tours.

You'll earn this trophy over the course of completing either THPS game. There are six Competition stages total, three in each game:

    Skate Park
    Burnside
    Roswell
    Marseille
    Skatestreet
    The Bullring

You'll eventually need to earn a gold medal for each stage, but for the purposes of this trophy, you just need any four medals. Once you get comfortable with the controls and upgrade your stats a bit, you'll have no issue finishing in the top three. Play conservatively when it comes to combos, and your top priority should be not bailing, as you'll lose points each time you do.
  • Unlock Bullring in THPS2 Classic.

The Bullring is one of the last levels you'll unlock in THPS2. You will unlock it over the course of playing through the game but it should unlock after completing 4 objectives on the Philadelphia stage if you've completed everything prior.
  • Complete every goal in THPS2 Classic and gain all gold medals.

If you played the original THPS2, the goals will likely come easy to you but for newcomers to the series, some may seem challenging. You can break up the goals into multiple attempts but for collectibles like SKATE letters or anything that requires you to do multiples of something, you'll need to do those in a single run. Focus on doing the score-related goals separately, then worry about the other stuff on its own so you have enough time.

If you need help, there are multiple guides online from both the original game, and this guide which will cover the new additions for this version.
  • Complete a match in multiplayer.

From the Hub page, select Multiplayer, and then choose either Quick Playlist or Local Multiplayer. I unlocked this by playing a quick playlist, which will be a random game mode against online opponents. You don't need to win so complete a game, then the trophy should unlock after time runs out and the results are shown.
  • Create a skater using the CAS system.

After you've finished the tutorial and you're on the main Hub page, press  to go to the character select screen. Choose one of the blank custom skaters at the top of the screen and go through the process of creating a custom skater.
  • Create a new park and upload it.

You'll need to do this as part of the Veteran challenge collection so may as well do this all at once. On the Hub page, go to Create A Park, then select Go To My Parks and create a new park. There are a series of challenges you can complete here by placing certain items and editing Smart Pieces, so press  and go to the Challenges page and then select the Veteran challenges on the bottom right. Complete all of the CAP Challenges and then when you're done, go back to the Pause menu and select Publish. Name your park and then hit publish at the bottom of the screen for the trophy.
  • Spend $10,000 in the Skate Shop.

By the time I completed 100% of the objectives in both games, I had $16,000 so you'll have more than enough money by the end of the game. There is a deck you can by for $12,000, or you can buy all of the available decks, wheels, shirts etc. until the trophy unlocks.
  • Find all Stat points for any Pro Skater.

Stat points are floating icons in every stage that look like the THPS logo. The stage select screen will track how many Stat points you've collected. Most of them are fairly straightfoward to collect but if you're having trouble, this guide lists the locations and how best to get them.
  • Earn the "Rookie " Challenge Collection.

Most of these will be earned as part of setting up your Created Skater and learning the mechanics of the game. Please see the Challenge Guide for any particularly tricky challenges.

  • Earn the "Veteran" Challenge Collection.

A significant number of the Veteran Challenges are built around creating your own park or playing online. Please see the Challenge Guide for more information.
  • Earn the "Legend" Challenge Collection.

These will be the most time consuming of the three Challenge Collections and will include completing all of the goals and medals for both games, as well as completing every challenge for 3 Pro Skaters and your Created Skater. Please see the Challenge Guide for more information.
  • Complete all "Hard" Get-Theres.

"Get-Theres" are specific combos you need to do on each stage, which consist of linking together several Gaps. There are 19 Hard Get-Theres, one for each level, and the list can be found within the Skate Park Challenges menu, under Get-Theres.

Some of these are definitely going to test your patience and skill level so be prepared to spend a lot of time on a handful of these. I found School, School II, Bullring, Venice and Roswell to be the hardest. Below is a video of how to complete each of the Get-Theres. I can update the Challenge Guide with tips for the particularly difficult ones.
  • Reach Career level 10.

You level up by completing challenges, which at the start of the game will be happening pretty much constantly. You'll reach level 10 before beating the first game.

  • Reach Career level 100.

Reaching level 100 is going to be a significant grind but by the time you complete the Character Challenges for your Created Skater, the 3 Pro Skaters, the Gaps, the Get There's and the stage related challenges, you should have enough. If that isn't the case, I'll update this but if not, there are more than enough challenges to complete to get you to 100, it'll just take a while.

  • Paint 100 surfaces in Graffiti across all playtime.

Graffiti is a multiplayer mode you can play either locally or online. Any time you do a trick off of something in the stage, whether it's a rail, ledge, kicker or quarter pipe, it will change color, until someone else does a bigger trick or combo off of the same object. Whoever has the most objects in their color at the end of the round wins. You should be able to grind this out locally fairly quickly.

  • Give 50 Letters in Horse.

Horse is a multiplayer mode you can only play through split-screen multiplayer. The first player will do a combo and the second player will have to beat that score, or they're given a letter. You can grind this out fairly quickly locally by having the first player land a basic combo and having the second player bail each time.

Thanks to JohnnyTsunami01 for the following workaround if you only have one controller:

If you only have one controller you can still play split screen. You will need a smart phone (both Android and Apple work) and download the "PS4 Remote Play" app.

    - Start Tony Hawk and sign in to your main account, then go to the local multiplayer screen
    - Sign in with a second account, different from your main on the Remote Play app on phone (not sure if necessary to use a second account, probably will work as guest as well)
    - It will ask you to verify with a code that could be found on the remote play settings on your PS4
    - You should now be able to press X on your phone to join a session and use the phone exactly as a second controller
    - It is confirmed that you can get all multiplayer trophies (horse letters, graffiti and veteran challenges) just by playing with the PS4 controller and bailing with the phone controller.
  • Land a 50,000+ point combo.

See You Broke the Scoreboard for more info.
  • Achieve a High Score of 1,000,000+ on any classic Park.

See You Broke the Scoreboard for more info.
  • Land a 1,000,000+ point combo.

See You Broke the Scoreboard for more info.
  • Achieve a High Score of 10,000,000+ on any classic Park.

Go into Created Parks and search for parks called "10 million". Several should pop up but I used one that was called "10 million easy". The level has an infinite rail with kickers you'll kick off of as you travel around on the rail, resetting your balance meter as you go. Hold the grind button down and wait until you have a combo multiplier of 1,500 or more before jumping off and landing. You should get all four score-related trophies for doing this. Thanks to Warbear for pointing this out to me.
  • Complete all Gap collections.

The gaps for each stage can be found in the pause menu under Game Options, and you'll know if you've completed a Gap if there's a number other than 0 next to it. These can be pretty tricky to find, let alone complete but Mr Splash has made a series of easy-to-follow videos, the first of which I'll link below. To make things easier, make sure you do this in Free Play so you don't have to worry about a time limit.
  • Place 500 objects in CAP.

Create a new park then select cardboard boxes or anything else that's small from the Dynamic Props menu. Now spam cross.png until the trophy unlocks.
  • Earn 5,000,000 points in Trick Attack across all playtime.

Trick Attack is a multiplayer mode you can play either locally or online. You'll have a certain amount of time to get the highest score possible. You can set up a 10:00 game locally and grind this out pretty quickly.
  • Earn 2,000,000 points in Combo Mambo across all playtime.

Combo Mambo is a multiplayer mode you can play either locally or online. You'll have a set amount of time to get the biggest combo possible. I believe it's only your final score that will count towards your total, but this shouldn't take long to grind out.

Secret trophies

  • Find every alien plushie.

There's a hidden alien plushie in every stage in the game. They must be found in a timed goal run and they won't appear on Free Play. Below is a video showing all of their locations:
  • Get hit by the Bull in Bullring.

Once you unlock The Bullring, start a run and you'll quickly notice a dirt track around the perimeter of the stage. There is a bull that runs around the track and you just need to stand in the way of him and get hit to earn the trophy.
  • Get hit by a vehicle on every map that features them.

There are five levels with vehicles that you can be hit by:

    Downtown
    Streets
    School II
    NY City
    Philadelphia

You'll likely get this over the course of playing through the two games, but in the event that you don't, play these maps again and make sure a vehicle knocks you off your board.
  • Unlock Officer Dick.

Officer Dick is unlocked by completing the Create-a-Skater challenge collection. It's a pretty extensive list, which you'll find by going to the Challenges tab, then selecting Skater Challenges, then finally Created Skaters. You'll need to complete 24 different Challenges, ranging from specific combos to earning "Sick" scores on each of the non-Competition stages, to earning Gold Medals on each Competition stage. Please see the Challenge Guide if you're having any issues with specific challenges. When you finally complete the list, you'll unlock Officer Dick and you'll be one step closer to finishing the Legend Challenge collection.
  • Bail a 100,000+ point combo.

This is inevitable as you work towards some of the big combo challenges in the game but if you feel like getting it over with, find a continuous rail with a wall you can wall-plant off of like in the Hangar and just grind back and forth, switching grind tricks until you have a large enough multiplier going, then just hold a grab into the ground or land sideways. I shouldn't have to tell you people how to blow a big combo and I feel like I probably don't.
  • Break 20 Panes of Glass.

You should earn this by the time you reach the Mall stage, as the Directories count towards panes of glass but either way you'll have done this many times over without trying by the time you reach the end of the game.
  • Achieve a judge score of 99.9 on a competition run.

You only need to do this on a single round but it's easier than it sounds. The key is to never bail during your run, because it will deduct points. I got it in the first round of the first competition with a score of 300,000 so don't feel like you have to go insane here. Be fairly conservative with your combos, rather than risking bailing and by the time you've played all six Competition stages, you'll have done this at least once.
