Introduction:

You may see Timberman Vs. on deep discount and dream of a quick and easy platinum trophy however this once mobile exclusive game now ported to console and PC is anything but. That's not to say you won't enjoy it or that it's impossible to platinum. The game's simple premise is easy to pick up and play, while taking lots of patience to learn the rhythm to make it far in the endless modes. Once you do get the hang of it, there will be a massive, repetitive grind to earn enough XP to unlock all the characters.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Race Modes

There is some flexibility on which mode you could start so this isn't a map with one path to the Platinum necessarily. The nice thing about Race Mode though is that you are free to make some mistakes while learning the rhythm to the game and won't be frustrated with early exits in Classic or Hero Mode.

Step 2: Hero Mode
You need to play this mode a total of 10 times. Eight of those on Beginner, once on Average and once on Axe Master difficulty. On one of these playthroughs, be sure to use Fireman Doug once unlocked.

Step 3: Classic Mode
There are several trophies that will require you to play as "xx" character on "xx" world in Classic Mode. You will eventually need to score 100+ with each unlocked character, so be sure to rotate through your characters as you are working on other trophies.

Step 4: XP, log chops and character unlocks grind
Although you need to chop over 100,000 logs for one particular trophy, the XP required to unlock all the characters will require north of 135,000 logs chopped. The best mode to grind out logs/XP is 5000 log Race Mode, which can be completed in around 13-15 mins each run. As you unlock new characters you may need to move over to Classic/Hero mode in the above steps to unlock character specific trophies and for scoring 100 with each character, which must be done in those respective modes other than Race Mode. After you've unlocked the 68th character and scored 100 with each of them you are finally done.

26 trophies ( 10  )

  • Acquire all trophies

This trophy is awarded for completing all the other of the game's trophies.

  • Score 100 in classic or hero mode

  • Score 500 in classic or hero mode

  • Score 1000 in classic or hero mode

This is the hardest trophy in the game and will require patience and practice to get in that zone or mindframe to have a mistake free run to 1000. You will want to do this on Classic Mode only because Hero Mode has a random log amount and on the hardest difficulty 1000 is the max and does not come up often at all. Classic Mode is endless, however.

You may be tempted to chase a high score after you have reached 1000 but if going for trophies, there is really no reason to keep going as grinding logs and XP are better suited for Race Mode. This trophy will require 3 minutes of flawless chopping. You need to keep a steady pace although if your meter is full, you may find yourself slowing down for a split second to view the branches ahead or if your brain gets fried feel free to literally pause the game for a moment.

  • Chop 10 logs in 2 seconds in classic or hero mode

  • Chop 100 logs in 16 seconds in classic or hero mode

Should happen on accident sometime on the way to unlocking the other game's trophies.
  • Play as Sitting Wolf on desert world in classic mode

Sitting Wolf is unlocked at Level 28. World/map selection is random in Classic Mode so just simply restart until you get Desert World.
  • Play as Plumberman on pipes world in classic mode

Plumberman is unlocked at Level 41. World/map selection is random in Classic Mode so just simply restart until you get Pipes World.
  • Play as Jasmine on palace world in classic mode

Jasmine is unlocked at Level 52. World/map selection is random in Classic Mode so just simply restart until you get PalaceWorld.
  • Save a bird on Beginner difficulty

    See Big Bird trophy_gold.png
  • Save a bird on Average difficulty

    See Big Bird trophy_gold.png
  • Save a bird on Axe Master difficulty

Hero Mode has a finite number of logs you need to chop in order to save birds at the top. You can pause and restart in hopes if getting less logs to chop. On Axe Master you should pause and restart until the required number of logs is somewhere between 650-700 rather than trying for 900+. After several hours of playing Timberman Vs. you sort of get into a rhythm or a zone of sorts but getting to 700 without screwing up can be very difficult still.

  • Save a bird 10 times on any difficulty

You will need to complete Hero Mode on each of the three difficulties, so after compelting Average and Axe Master you may as well do the rest on Beginner.
  • Save a bird as Fireman Doug

Fireman Doug is unlocked at Level 35. Complete Hero Mode on any difficulty with him.
  • Finish a race on every distance

    Race distances in Race Mode are 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 and 5000 logs.
  • Finish a race on distance 100 under 15 seconds

  • Finish a race on distance 1000 under 3 minutes

  • Finish a race on distance 5000 under 15 minutes

These timed based trophies are not too difficult once you get a hang of the game. You may very well achieve the time goal required on the first try. The last one here for getting 5000 in under 15 minutes may seem daunting but just be sure to keep an eye on your Nitro meter and as soon as you can use one hit triangle.png to boost up several dozen logs in seconds. Later when you are grinding out XP and logs you will find that you can do 5000 in 13 minutes roughly.

  • Win a race against 3 bots on distance 200 not using a boost

An exploit you can use to knock your opponents out early is to go slow to start out, going just fast enough so your meter doesn't run out. The CPU will tend to do about as well as you are doing and will be knocked out when their meter runs low. Once all 3 CPU bots are defeated you can finish the rest at your own pace.
  • Use a boost 10 times in one race

This can be done in many of the longer races and is critical for grinding out XP/logs. Press triangle.png to activate a boost in Race Mode.
  • Use a boost 1000 times in total

When grinding out XP/logs, you should be always using nitro the moment your meter fills up. Press triangle.png to activate a boost in Race Mode. While chasing 100,000 logs chopped or attempting to unlock all the characters you should reach 1000 nitro uses along the way.
  • Unlock all characters

This will require chopping approximately 135,000 logs to unlock the necessary XP, which is a massive grind in such a repetitive game. The best mode to grind out logs is Race Mode, where you can finish a 5000 log race in 13-15 minutes each. As you unlock new characters, make sure you are taking them for a spin in either Classic or Hero Mode and scoring 100+ for each for the Well balanced trophy_gold.png trophy.
  • Score at least 100 with every character

There are a total of 68 characters to unlock. Score 100 in Classic or Hero Mode with each one of them.
  • Chop 10000 logs in total

  • Chop 50000 logs in total

  • Chop 100000 logs in total
