How to unlock I Wore Ofieri Before It Was Cool

    **Glitched**
If it glitches on you, the best known method is to start the DLC as a standalone and do not talk to the Ofieri merchant. Instead, go and get the diagram from the Zuetzer Castle and then follow the quest until completion.

You can collect the Ofieri armor set during the quest "From Ofieri's Distant Shores", which will have you find the four diagrams that you will need to have translated by an Ofieri merchant in Upper Mill. You can also buy a sword from the same merchant or a diagram for the sword along with the Crossbow. The horse saddle can be won by racing the Ofieri merchant and the horse blinders and saddlebags can be bought from his shop.

You will need to craft the armor, which the female armorer in Crow's Perch is the only one who is able to do so, and the elf blacksmith in Novigrad can forge the sword if needed. Once you have all the physical items, the trophy will unlock.

  • This one is bugged. Did the quest and crafted the items. no dice
  • They're patching this. Apparently the Ofieri merchant that you race for the saddle should also be selling Ofieri horse blinders and saddlebags, but for whatever reason, he's not with the initial release. Seems like kind of a big Whoops.
  • Patched. Just got it. You don't even need to equip like the Armed and Dangerous trophi, you just need to have it for the trophy to pop.
  • Got it too! Finally patched
  • While it's true you don't have to equip the armor, you apparently still must be able to. The armor requires level 38 to wear and I crafted it all at 37 and got nothing. Reloaded my game and came back after I hit 38 and the trophy popped immediately after crafting the last piece.
  • I sold the damn Saddle due to it being worse than my existing one. I have no idea which shop I sold it to. It could be anywhere. Anyone know if there are others you can get, maybe in Blood and Wine dlc or something?
  • Well the first bandit's hideout has bugged for me (apparently a common problem according to what I googled), no diagram or note in the chest that it should be in. I might try playing the dlc standalone from the menu and see if that helps.
  • To follow up on #7, I reloaded my save from prior to starting the DLC, and the underground hideout was still bugged - no diagram in the chest. I then started the DLC standalone as a new game and the required stuff to continue the quest was there, sucks I can't do it with my original save though.
  • If you SOLD the saddle you win from the horse race.. you can buy it in tousant where you can make your legendary witcher gear... i bought it there...
  • To follow up on #7 and #8, as well as anyone else having this same issue. I had the same problem, went into the bandit's hideout as part of the diagram quest and there were no armor diagrams in the chest. However, when I continued to play and looted another random fallen knight bandit camp I looted their chest and found an untranslated boots diagram, so I'm figuring that instead of being in the main chest from the quest they are now spread out among other fallen knight bandit camps instead. Will know soon enough i guess...
  • To follow up on my previous comment, yes they are all scattered at other fallen knight bandit camps. Just loot them all and you should find the armor diagrams. You'll then have to take them to the Ofieri Merchant and have him translate them. And have the female armor at Crow's Perch craft them for you.
  • In patch 1.31 everything is fixed and the quest work perfectly even by continuing your adventure from the wild hunt. 1- Completed all the bandit camp without taking the quest 2- A started the treasure hunter after 3- Go see the merchant to translate the schemas 4- Build all the armor set from the female armor at Crow's Perch 5- Build the sword from the Elf blacksmith in Novgorode 6- Buy all the horse gear from the merchant 7- Trophy is yours
  • Quest is still bugged for me, but I'm going to try #10/11's advice and see if they're just spread around. I'd hate to redo the dlc as a standalone just for the one quest.
  • If anyone is still getting the glitch, I got the glitch tonight (no diagram /letter in the underground camp chest). Workaround: I started a stand-alone dlc hearts of stone game and went straight to the zuetzer castle bandit camp and found one diagram, went to the merchant and bought the saddlebags and blinders, won the race for the saddle, did the quest by finding the underground camp (no glitch) and the two others in the other camps. Had to do the master armours side west at crows perch again to unlock the female armoured then the trophy popped once I crafted the 4 pieces. Took about 1 1/2 hours.
  • Funny. I just got this trophy ahead of crafting the set. I did however have a tunic I found in a chest at the shore near where you land after the storm and some random Ofieri sword I picked up after defeating some enemies. Then I bought the horse items and the crossbow from that Ofieri merchant and went to craft the armor. The trophy popped as soon as I crafted the gloves, shoes and trousers but before I crafted the body piece... So appearently this is not about having that very set from the diagrams but you just have to own/carry ANY Ofieri item for each slot!
  • DO NOT SELL the saddle received by winning the horse race. That is the only way to get it, and if you sell it/discard it you can't buy another. If you did what I did, and upgraded saddles in the Blood and Wine expansion before doing trophy, it's likely you sold it to one of the Merchants/Blacksmith/Armourer at the Tourney Grounds. They're one of the first merchants you come across that has a better saddle. So pop back and check if they have the Ofieri saddle in their shop list.
  • Is it still glitched? What are the correct steps to do in order to get this trophy?
  • Can confirm that it's still bugged, and at this point I'd say there's about 0 chance of them fixing it. I guess I'll just have to start the dlc in standalone mode.
  • I just got the trophy on my normal playthrough. It was weird though. It unlocked as soon as I bought the saddlebags and horse binders. I didn't buy the crossbow or the sword, although I have a Relic Ofieri Crossbow from somewhere in my inventory. Weird innit?
  • To anyone inevitably stumbling upon this, just go ahead and restart as mentioned and go for it. Doesn't take much more than an hour - don't be an idiot like me and waste countless hours trying to find a workaround in the glitched save. Fucking annoying such a slight, trophy-breaking glitch has existed untouched for years now.
  • It's not glitched, but make sure to carry all the objects in your inventory. don't sell any. Just carry them all in the inventory in the same time.
