Welcome to the final season of The Walking Dead. Once again you step into the shoes of Clementine with your tag along little buddy AJ. You guys have been on your own since the events of the last season and AJ has grown up quite a bit. TTG changed the formula a bit with this one as the combat is a bit different because you can stun the walkers and then kill them. Also, they have added missable trophies in the series now. I have set up this walkthrough to focus on the collectables first and gathering what missable trophies you can, then reloading a backup save to get the rest of the trophies that you are not able to obtain during the first playthrough.

Be aware, there is no chapter select like in The Wolf Among Us. If you don't want to playthrough the majority of the game a second time, make a backup save when prompted.


EPISODE 1

Step 1: Play The Episode & Gather Collectables

You will want to play through the game, making whatever choices you would like (for the most part) You will have to make certain choices for some collectables so you don’t miss out, like during the start of Act 2, where you will be given the option to either go hunting or fishing (you will want to make a backup save before deciding). To get one of the collectables, you will want to choose to go fishing. In the walkthroughs of the trophies for each Act, there is a simplified walkthrough of showing you where each trophy will be earned and where you will pick up the collectables throughout the story. I will only make note of dialogue choices that matter towards the completion of a trophy, otherwise you are free to choose whichever option you want. This is not meant to be a full fledged walkthrough. You can view the other trophies for a better description on how to obtain the missable ones.

Step 2: Load Your Backup Saves

The last two trophies you should have left:

Here you will want to load up your backup save and choose to go hunting instead of fishing at the start of Act 2. Once you make your way to the hunting grounds, make another separate backup save as you can only earn one out of the last two trophies at a time. Here you will have the choice to either help Aasim or Louis. Pick one and earn the trophy and then load up the other save and choose to help the other to earn the remaining one.


EPISODE 2

Step 1: Play The Episode & Gather Collectables

Play through the episode and keep an eye out for the collectables in Act 2. There's only 3 this time around and they are all found in Act 2.

EPISODE 3

Play through the episode and keep an eye out for all the collectables in Act 1. There is a total of 6 to collect. Keep an eye out for the trophy As A Mouse at the start of the game, as you have to make certain dialogue choices in order to obtain the trophy near the end of the game.

There is no reloading need to be done with this. You are able to get all the trophies within a single run if you didn't end up missing any the first time around. If you did, then start the chapter over and go back and earn whichever you missed.


EPISODE 4

Step 1: Play The Episode & Gather Collectables

Play through the episode and keep an eye out for all the collectables. Three are located in Act 1, while the last one is located in Act 3. There is a total of 4 to collect. During Act 1, you'll have to make a choice to trust AJ or not. Make a backup save after you have crossed the riverbank in the cave, as you will need to reload from that point to make the opposite choice for a trophy if you don't want to restart the entire episode.

  • Completed Act One.

    Story related, cannot be missed

    • Once you arrive at the house, go to the left to pick up the Deer Skull and then make your way inside. 1/6 Collectables
    • When you're finished inside, you will make your way back to the car where you'll crash and then wake up inside a school.
    • After waking, you will leave the room and be introduced to Tenn and Marlon, who'll lead you to the building where AJ is.
    • After being told to follow the music when you enter the building with a staircase in front of you, go behind it to find the Plastic Flowers. 2/6 Collectables
    • Follow the music to AJ, where dialogue choices appear and you'll want select to tickle him. Tickle Monster
    • Shortly afterwards, you'll be tasked to help kill some Walkers. When shown the traps, kill the four Walkers by ONLY using the traps. Nothing Wasted
    • Back at the school, when helping AJ make friends, go to the right upper corner of the area to find Real Flowers sitting on a stone bench. Then talk to everyone before talking to Marlon. 3/6 Collectables Social Butterfly

    Story related, cannot be missed

    Make a backup save during the start of this act by going to the Main Menu => Settings and selecting your Save File, then copying it into an empty slot.

    • You will go upstairs and be confront by Rosie. Choose to trust Marlon. Good Girl
    • Look at the map points and then choose to go fishing (this locks you out of Where’s the Candy? & Rabbit Season).
    • When you get to the hut, turn around and pick up the Cat Skull on top of the fireplace and then go talk to AJ on the bed. 5/6 Collectables Lost Love
    • Grab the spear and catch all 3 fish. Upstream
    • After finishing fishing and the train station, Tenn will be drawing and ask you if you'd like to be in it, which you'll agree to. 6/6 Collectables Scavenger, Fitting In

    There is a total of six items you will need to find. There are four in Act 1 and two in Act 2. Once you have them all, at the start of Act 3 you'll be in your room and able to place them in various spots. Do so before blowing out the candle and going to sleep.

    Act 1

    1. Deer Skull - At the start of the game, you'll be driving in a car and arrive at a house. Go on the left side of the house before you enter it to pick up the skull.
    2. Plastic Flowers - When you start looking for AJ in the school, you'll see a set of stairs. Walk behind them to find the flowers.
    3. Real Flowers - When you’re set with the task to help AJ make friends, in the top right corner by the school (where the brick pillars are) will be the flowers sitting on a stone bench.
    4. AJ's Drawing - After dinner, AJ will be drawing a picture and Violet will come in asking about the art supplies. Let AJ keep the supplies, else you won't get the drawing.

    Act 2

    1. Cat Skull - Choose to go fishing at the start of Act 2. When you arrive at the area and gain control of Clem, turn around and you will see the skull on the fireplace.
    2. Tenn's Drawing - After coming back from the train station in Act 2, Tenn will be drawing a picture. Pick to be included in the picture and he will give it to you.

     

  • Completed Act One.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

    • Go through the dialogue with AJ and then attend the funeral.
    • After you will be forced out and meet an old friend.
    • Have Louis and Violet either shoot or run and you'll be chased down.
    • Slaughter some walkers and then remove the bullets from AJ and talk to James. We're Staying
  • Completed Act Two.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

    • When back at the school you'll be tasked with obtaining barbed wire from the greenhouse.
    • When you arrive at the greenhouse, turn around and pick up a Wild Boar Skull in the right corner. 1/2 Collectables
    • Climb the ladder on the side to go inside the greenhouse. Then grab the knife, and kill the walkers.
    • Once inside, make a backup save. This is in case the trophy glitches on you.
    • Go to the planter with the mushrooms and take one. After you grab the mushroom, select the prompt to eat a mushroom. 2/3 Collectables Edible
    • Examine everything in the greenhouse. Press to show you what can be interacted with.
    • Grab the pry bar from the shelf and use it to open the cabinet for the barbed wire and some fertilizer.
    • Go to the back of the greenhouse and move the shelf to uncover the door.
    • Deal with the walker and then pick up the Venus Flytrap sitting on the planter. 3/3 Collectables Gatherer
    • Examine everything in the lab. Press to show you what can be interacted with (besides the igniter and propane). Botanist
    • Grab the igniter and propane and burn or bury Ms. Martin. Old Ghosts

    • Back in your room, place the collectables you've gathered. Personal Touch
    • Pick out a shirt for AJ and then go to sleep.
    • When back in control of Clem, search for AJ. Once you find him, you'll wake up and then talk to AJ until you arrive in the courtyard.
    • Go to the graveyard and pet Rosie. Great Girl
    • Interact with everything around the Courtyard before talking to the people. Be Prepared
    • Talk with Louis and shoot the compound bow at the target and hit it with every arrow. Sureshot
    • Go over to the picnic table and talk to Mitch.
    • Go near the entrance to the gate and talk to AJ and Tenn.
    • Talk to Violet and back either trap idea.
    • Play truth or dare, choosing whatever choices.
    • Choose to follow Violet or Louis.
    • Make a backup save after you decided whom to follow and arrived at their destination if you're not comfortable with backing out quickly.

    Followed Violet

    • Go through the dialogue options and connect the stars.
    • When given the choice to either stay friends or tell her you have feelings for her (and then kiss her) choose one. Bonded or Moving Fast
    • Once the trophy pops, return to the main menu and load back into the episode and make the opposite choice.
    • Afterwards, you'll attend to your lookout duty.

    Followed Louis

    • Help tune the piano and go through the dialogue options
    • When prompted with "I'm glad we're friends" or "I LIKE like you" (and then kiss him), choose one. Bonded or Moving Fast
    • Once the trophy pops, return to the main menu and load back into the episode and make the opposite choice.
    • Afterwards, you'll attend to your lookout duty.
    • Talk with AJ and then spot the caravan through the binoculars.
    • Defend your home against the raiders (don't shoot Lily the first chance or you'll die).
    • Save Violet or Louis.
    • After the raiders leave, shoot all the walkers in the head. Deadeye Defender

    There are only 3 collectables to find, all of which are located in Act 2. Once you have gathered them, at the beginning of Act 3, you will be back in your room and can place them in their proper place. Do so before going to sleep after picking out a shirt for AJ.

    Act 2

    1. Wild Boar Skull - When you arrive at the greenhouse, turn around and in the right corner will be the skull on the ground.
    2. Mysterious Mushroom - After you enter the greenhouse, in one of the planters will be mushrooms, pick one.
    3. Venus Flytrap - In the lab of the greenhouse, it will be sitting on the corner of the planter.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

    • Pick any dialogue options and when you control Clem for the first time, you'll see a School Pennant on the wall to your left (it's like a flag), take it. 1/6 Collectables
    • Walk a few steps further up and on your left at the end of the table is a shelf with a Sketch Pad on it, take it. Then head over to Rosie and attempt to pet her. 2/6 Collectibles Best Girl
    • Continue until you reach Abel and talk to him. The next choices in dialogue are important for a trophy later on.
    • When talking to Abel, choose the following: Let AJ wake him, let Abel drink, they've abandoned you, fuck your war, let him smoke, I hope so, let him sweat, you'll know soon enough.
    • Kill Abel or let him turn.
    • When you arrive at the scouting area, turn around and head towards the fallen log. There will be a horseshoe on the ground, pick it up. 3/6 Collectibles
    • Afterwards you'll head towards Willy and behind him to the right will be a rabbit's foot on the ground, pick it up. 4/6 Collectibles
    • When scouting the boat, talk to Willy, Lewis/Violet, and AJ, and check out each location with the binoculars, examining each spot before you exit. All-seeing
    • Go through the dialogue options with the raider and then AJ.
    • You'll meet with James and help him get his mask. Distract the walkers until James gets his mask by stunning them with . Do not kill them. Mercy
    • When you arrive at the barn, go to the left of James, and to the left of the haystack is a toy. Pick it up. 5/6 Collectibles
    • Go to the side of the barn by AJ. To the right of him, there's a wind chime. Take it. 6/6 Collectibles Hunter

    • Grab the coffee heater off the desk and talk to AJ.
    • After arriving at the music room, go through the three objects and decide what to do with them.

    • Attend the party and go through the dialogue options with everyone. Nightlight

    • Go through the dialogue options with everyone in the clearing near the boat.
    • Make your way to the pier. Hide behind walkers with to avoid getting shot.
    • Once on the pier and in the water, make your way around the dock and then avoid the spotlight.
    • When you have control of the bow, kill all four walkers with the bow. Personal Space Shoreline

    Story related, cannot be missed.

    • When you're on the boat, continue ahead and you'll be seen by a raider while hiding. Respond to him by using the phrase "Rockingham". As A Mouse
    • Continue onward, either killing or knocking out raiders you run into.
    • Plant the bomb and make your way up the stairs and talk with Minerva.
    • When you wake up in the cell, by the right side of the door is some scratches, look at them. Tally
    • Check out the door and look through it to talk to the others and look at the latch on the bottom left of the screen.
    • Grab the shiv off the ground and chip away at the rusted welds on the door.
    • Go through the dialogue options with Lilly.
    • Once you escape, make your way across the top of the boat while avoiding detection.
    • Confront Lilly and help the others. Leader

    There is a total of six items you need to find, all located in Act 1. After they're all collected, you'll be able to place them in your room during the start of Act 2. Do this before you talk to AJ.

    Act 1

    1. School Pennant - At the start of the game, you'll have control of Clem. Look to the left of the wall in the basement, you'll see it attached to the wall.
    2. Sketch Pad - After you picked up the first collectible, you'll find the sketch pad on a shelf on the left side of a room at the end of a table with duct tape sitting on it.
    3. Horseshoe - When you first arrive at the clearing to scout the boat, turn around and head towards the downed tree. You'll find it lying on the ground in front of the tree.
    4. Rabbit's Foot - Once you get the horseshoe, head towards Willy and behind him to the right will be the rabbit's foot lying on the ground.
    5. Toy - When you arrive at the barn with James and AJ, to the left of James, will be a haystack. To the left of this haystack there will be the toy lying on the ground.
    6. Wind Chime - When you arrive at the barn with James and AJ, to the right of AJ on the side of the barn, there will be some wind chimes hanging for you to take.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

    • Make your way to AJ and catch him then make your way to the dock.
    • Fight off the raider and then go through the dialogue options.
      • If James is dead, you'll automatically pick up his skin mask. 1/4 Collectables
    • Help your friends and find a way to escape the area.
    • Kill the walkers to help your friends escape.
    • Run towards Tenn while dodging the walkers to escape.
    • Once in the cave, go along the wall to your left by the river and pick up a crystal. 2/4 Collectables
    • Head back towards the entrance and go left past AJ and on the ground in front of him is a Calpyso Cauliflower, pick it up. 3/4 Collectables
    • At the edge of the stream in front of you, is a walker corpse. Interact with it to get a piece of cloth.
    • Head back to the main entrance and go to the stream and to the right is a stick, grab it.
    • Examine the cave wall behind Tenn to grab flint and make a torch.
    • Go left and examine the log and push it and then fend off the walkers.
    • Cross to the other side of the bank.
    • Once on the other side of the bank make a backup save.
    • Talk to AJ and choose the dialogue options of "You've earned it." or "You're not ready". Depending on what you choose will have an affect on two different trophies in Act 2. You'll then exit the cave. Red Water
      • If James is alive, you will obtain his skin mask Collectable

    • Go through the dialogue options.
    • Make your way across the bridge and defend against the walkers.
    • If you trusted AJ or not he'll make a choice based on your decision.
    • Continue onward and escape the walkers by climbing up a small cliff. Goodbye or You And Me
    • Go through the dialogue options with AJ and make your way to the barn.
    • Fend off the walkers and close the barn door and the stall doors.
    • Use the axe to cover yourself in walker guts.

    • Go down the path and through the area to try and find AJ.
    • Once you made it to the lockers, take the key, open the locker door, grab AJ, and leave the area. Promise

    • Replace the spear on the wall and go outside.

    There is a total of four items you need to find, three are found in Act 1, while the last is found in Act 3. After they're collected, you'll be able to place them at the end of Act 3 when prompted.

    Act 1

    1. Crystal - When you first enter the cave, it'll be along the wall to your left on the ground near the stream.
    2. Calpyso Cauliflower - When you first enter the cave, head right past AJ and on the ground in front of him will be a toy.
    3. Skin Mask - This is collected one of two ways. If James died in the last episode, you will automatically collect this when you're escaping the boat. If not, you'll obtain this after you reach the cave and have a falling out with James and he leaves his mask behind.

    Act 3

    1. Skull - At the start of Act 3, when you go into the shack to put away your spear, go to your right and on the left side of the stove is the skull.
 

Secret trophies

  • Tickled AJ.

    MISSABLE

    In Act 1 when you arrive at the school and find AJ by following the music, your first dialogue choices will have the option to tickle him. Select it by pressing .

  • Used ALL traps.

    MISSABLE

    In Act 1 where you need to defend the school from walkers, you'll be shown how to use traps that are set up. You must use all four traps on all four of the walkers. You will have to run around a bit and set up the walkers to walk under the traps in order to cut the rope. The circle on the ground will turn red when they are in position.

    If you screw up, you can just reload the game or die as you'll start right at the beginning of the fight.

  • Talked to EVERYONE at dinner.

    MISSABLE

    After you help defend the school from the walkers, you'll need to help AJ make friends. Walk around and talk to everyone in the area. Be aware of Violet and Tenn on the left side of the school by the graves. If done right, the trophy will pop when AJ lets you know when he is ready to talk to Marlon, if not, you have missed someone and should find them before talking to Marlon.

  • Found Heart Graffiti.

    MISSABLE

    In the start of Act 2, you'll have the option to go hunting or fishing, you'll need to choose to go fishing. Once you arrive at the area and gain control of Clem, walk over to AJ and talk to him. He will point out the heart carved out on the wall.

  • Speared ALL fish.

    MISSABLE

    The start of Act 2, you will have the option to go hunting or fishing, choose to go fishing. After you arrive at the area, you'll need to pick up a spear. Then you'll be tasked with helping out catching fish. For this, you must make sure you do not miss any fish. If you do, reload the game and start over from the last checkpoint (grab the collectable again). You should be aiming near the bottom of the steam when you do this.

  • Hit all Pinata Swings.

    Make another backup save when you reach the hunting grounds as you can only earn one of the two trophies in the area.


    During the beginning of Act 2, you'll have a choice to go hunting or fishing. Choose to go hunting. Once at the hunting grounds, you'll need to either help Aasim or Louis. Help Louis. He will have you hit the hanging Walker with the table leg in the head. You will need to hit it 3 times.

  • Shot ALL rabbits.

    Make another backup save when you reach the hunting grounds as you can only earn one of the two trophies in the area.


    At the start of Act 2, you will have a choice to go hunting or fishing. Choose to go hunting. Once at the hunting grounds, you will need to either help Aasim or Louis. Help Aasim. You'll need to shoot two rabbits. Don’t miss, or you'll have to reload your save.

  • Rosie.

    MISSABLE

    The start of Act 2, you'll be confronted by Rosie. Marlin will come in and ask you to trust him to get to know Rosie. When given the option to trust him or refuse him, choose to trust him.

  • Made sure everything was ready.

    During Act 3, you'll arrive in the courtyard to check over your defenses. You will want to interact with all the objects around the courtyard. Press to display what can be interacted with. Do this before talking with Violet.

  • Green Thumb.

    MISSABLE

    At the start of Act 2, you'll go to the greenhouse. You'll need to interact with everything outside and inside of the greenhouse. Once inside, do not open the door to the lab before you have interacted with everything else. To see what you can interact with press and it will display everything for you. Also talk with both Ruby and Mitch. When you make your way back to the lab, once again interact with everything around you. Do not take the igniter and propane before you have done so.

    During Act 3 in the courtyard while preparing your defenses, go over to the graves and you will find Rosie lying by Marlon's grave. Go up to her and pet her.

    During Act 3 in the courtyard while preparing your defenses, go over to Louis and talk to him. He will give you the compound bow to practice your shot. Press to aim and to fire. Aim at the center of the target and fire away until you run out of arrows. Make sure you hit the target every time.

  • Platonic.

    MISSABLE

    During Act 3, you'll have the choice to either follow Violet or Louis. It doesn't matter which one you follow. When you reach a certain point in the conversation with whomever you followed, you'll have the choice of choosing to stay friends with them, or express your feelings and try and become something more.

    Choosing to stay friends will net you Platonic while expressing your feelings and then choosing the option to kiss them will unlock Teenage Romance. Once you make your choice and the trophy pops, you can exit out of the game and reload the episode and you'll start at the beginning of the scene so can make the opposite choice for the other trophy. If you do not feel comfortable exiting out after the trophy pops, make a backup save after you arrive at the destination of whomever you decided to go with.

  • Protected your turf.

    At the end of Act 3, the raiders will show up and attack the school. After they leave, you'll be left dealing with the walkers. Use your compound bow by pressing to aim and to fire and shoot all the walkers in the head. Do not melee attack them. If you miss a shot, it will not count against you.

  • Rosie!

    MISSABLE

    During the beginning of Chapter 1, you'll be tasked with interrogating Abel. Down in the basement, you'll see Rosie. Walk up to her and attempt to pet her.

  • Did no harm.

    MISSABLE

    During Chapter 1, you'll meet with James and he will need help retrieving his mask. You'll need to distract the walkers. Do not kill them, just stun them by hitting and kite them around the area. Keep it up until James gets his mask. If you accidentally kill one, just let yourself die and restart the scene again.

  • Made sure they slept tight.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

    During Act 2, you'll attend a party before attacking the raiders to try and save your friends. Go through the dialogue options during the party and at the end of it after the performance, the trophy will unlock.

  • Let nothing slip by.

    During Act 1, you'll find out the location of the raiders and go out to scout the boat. Talk to Willy, Lewis/Violet, and AJ and you will be given a set of binoculars to scope out the area. Make sure to check out all the points before exiting out. These are listed from left to right.

    When you arrive at the barn with James and AJ, you will find AJ on the side of the barn crouched down looking at a salt lick. Interact with the salt lick before you talk to James and tell AJ not to lick it.

    In Act 2, you'll make your way to the raider boat. When you're trying to sneak on it, you will end up at the entrance to the boat. You will be confronted by walkers before you enter and will have to kill four of them before you enter. Kill all four of them with the bow.

  • Was very sneaky.

    During your conversation with Abel at the start of the game, you'll need to select certain dialogue options to get a code from him. You'll use it near the end of the episode. Here is the choices I know for sure you need to make while interrogating Abel:

    • Let AJ wake him
    • [Let Abel drink]
    • They've abandoned you.
    • Fuck your war.
    • Let him smoke?
    • I hope so.
    • [Let him sweat]
    • You'll know soon enough.


    Once you've obtained the passphrase "Rockingham", you won't have any use for it until you have infiltrated the boat and inside. You'll run into a raider whom you'll have the option to use the code with, do it.

  • Counted the days.

    During Act 3, when you sneak above the boat and get captured, you'll wind up in a cell. Look by the right side of the door on the wall, you'll see scratch marks. Look at them.

  • Did all you could.

    MISSABLE

    During Act 1 in the cave after you cross the riverbank, you'll be talking to AJ and will have to make a choice to trust him or not. Decide to trust him by picking the dialogue choice "You've earned it.". In Act 2 when trying to cross the bridge, AJ will make a choice due to you trusting him. After you've crossed the bridge and made your way up the cliff to escape, the trophy will pop.

  • Came full circle.

    MISSABLE

    During Act 1 in the cave after you cross the riverbank, you'll be talking to AJ and will have to make a choice to trust him or not. Decide not to trust him by picking the dialogue choice "You're not ready.". In Act 2 when trying to cross the bridge, AJ will make a certain choice due to you trusting him. After you've crossed the bridge and made your way up the cliff to escape, the trophy will pop.

  • Said you'd never leave.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

    This is obtained at the start of Act 3 when going through a scene of Clem rescuing AJ. After you find AJ and bring him to the car, you'll go through a dialogue option where you will tell him that you'll never leave him again.

  • Found Clem's hat.

    Story related, cannot be missed.

    At the beginning of Act 3, after you leave the shack you'll run into the survivor at the end of Act 2, who will have found Clem's hat. They will give it to you.
