Welcome to The Quarry, a new interactive experience from Supermassive Games. If you've played The Dark Pictures Anthology, or better yet Until Dawn, you'll know what to expect here. The Quarry is basically a B-List Horror Film where you play as a group of Camp Counselors on the last night of Summer Camp after all the kids have left, you get stranded for one last night and you either survive the night...or not. Your choices will have dramatic consequences on the outcome on your playthrough, who lives, who dies, who gets infected? It's all down to your decisions!
The game is straight forward enough, you watch cutscenes and make decisions as they happen with a few QTE events thrown in. A lot of the times you're making dialogue choices so what you choose might only effect the next line of dialogue...but there's crucial points that shape the outcome of the whole playthrough. When this happens the game will let you know with a "Path Chosen" message on screen, then as you make subsequent choices you'll see "Path updated", this usually means a crucial choice was made and you'll see it play out soon enough.
This is one of those games where you will likely want to do your first playthrough completely blind. Just play, make choices, grab the collectables that you can and enjoy the madness that ensues. But we are on a trophy site, so we know not everyone will want to do that. So this guide is going to be written in such a way that assumes your playthroughs are as foillows:
1. Everybody Lives
2. Everybody Dies
3. Final Girl
4. Last Man Standing
5. Everyone Infected
Only the Everbody Lives playthrough will be from the very beginning to end, everything after this, depending on how you play, will be more partial playthoughs since you can use Chapter Select aftter beating the game. But it needs to be noted that you CAN NOT skip around this game, once you choose a chapter from Chapter Select, you have to play the rest of the game from that point as Chapter Select will become unavailable until you finish the game again. This also goes for collectibles, so keep in mind that when you choose a chapter you'll have whatever collectibles you had when you got to that point and nothing after it. So plan accordingly.
*GLITCHED TROPHY WARNING* As of writing this guide the trophy Hard Pass is currently glitched for everyone. 2K and SMG ARE aware of this and they are working on a patch for it. However, the fine community at PSNP worked together to try and find ways of unlocking the trophy...and a method was found by matti11120, the method is outlined in the trophy descripton below.
As of the latest patch (1.03), this formerly glitched trophy works as intended.
NOTE to PS5 Players: Due to the nature of this game, it only allows you one save file at a time. And since Sony, in their infinite wisdom, decided to not let PS5 players upload their saves to an external drive, you're going to have to plan your playthroughs a little more carefully than PS4 players will. The reason for this, if you're following this guide, is that there's certain miscellaneous trophies that are easier to get from chapter select from a specific type of playthrough. For instance Should've Gone to the Motel is easier to get by loading up chapters from your Everybody Lives playthrough. Where as something like Final Girl or Last Man Standing need to be done after Everybody Dies. And if following PowerPyx's walkthroughs you're not going to get all clues until your Everyone Infected playthrough. So the issue posed here, is that it will be best to upload your Everyone Lives save to the PS+ Cloud and turn off Auto uploading your save for this specific game so it doesn't get overwritten due to Automatic Updates (Settings > Save Data and Game/App Settings > Sync Save Data > CLICK Auto Sync Save Data > Turn off for The Quarry). Your Everyone Dies Save can stay on the consoles SSD for now. This will allow you the flexibility to go back to Everyone Lives if you need it later.
TIP: There's a few instances in the game where you have combat encounters and have to shoot at enemies. There's a trophy tied to this Peanut Butter Butterpops! The thing is the shooting in the game can be a little janky at times, so there is a way to get this easily. If you go to Settings > Accessibility > Aim Assist > Auto. This will allow the game to shoot and hit all targets automatically and you can still get the trophy this way. If you want this easier and still want the interactivitiy, you can turn it to "On" instead and it'll automatically point to where you need to shoot, you just still have to pull the trigger yourself.
STEP 1: Everybody Lives Playthrough
Now for Everybody Lives, it's highly recommended you use @PowerPyx amazingly detailed Walkthrough. PowerPyx Everyone Survives Walktthrough
This walkthrough will get you a majority of the games trophies in one run, as well as set you up nicely for your subsequent playthroughs where you're using Chapter Select.
If you followed the walkthrough, then this playthrough will earn you:
Nick of Time
The White Wolf
Above the Law
Just a Flesh Wound
Bizzare Yet Bonafide
It's All Coming Together
The Truth is Out There
If done right you can also earn here (if not it can be done in cleanup, see Tip above):
Peanut Butter Butterpops!
STEP 2: Chapter Select - Reload Chapter 9 - Should've Gone to the Motel
After you finish your Everybody Lives playthrough, reload Chapter 9 by using Chapter Select and follow the instructions outlined in Should've Gone to the Motel . It's an alternate ending for this playthrough and is best to get it out of the way here before starting your next major playthrough.
After this step you'll earn:
Should've Gone to the Motel
STEP 3: Everybody Dies Playthrough
While this will be one of your longer playthrough, luckily you don't have to start from the beginning again if you followed the walkthrough, you can go to chapter select and start at Chapter 4 and still kill everyone (mostly by making the opposite decisions you did before).
Also since you likely chose "Move On" when talking to Eliza in your first playthrough, collect a Tarot card and get a reading from her in this playthrough for Forewarned is Forearmed .
You can also follow PowerPyx walthrough for this playthrough as well and he goes into some detail to save you some time and set you up for the next two steps.
Everybody Dies Walkthrough
After this step you'll earn:
Hackett's Quarry Massacre
Forewarned is Forearmed
STEP 4: Chapter Select - Reload Chapter 10 - The Final Girl
In this step you should have a fresh Everybody Died playthrough, simply reload Chapter 10. Make sure you kill Max by swimming to shore, then when it's Kaitlyns turn make sure to run from the monster and if you followed the walkthrough, you should have the ability to cause a distraction allowing Kaitlyn to get away.
The Final Girl
STEP 5: Chapter Select - Reload Chapter 9 - Last Man Standing
In this step, with your everybody dies playthrough, simply reload Chapter 9. Make sure after Travis kills Laura you pass the QTE to kill Travis, then in Chapter 10 Kill Max and Kaitlyn the same way you did in Everybody Dies.
Last Man Standing
STEP 6: Chapter Select - Reload Chapter 9 - Mutually Assured
Load up Chapter 9 and play normally until you get to the point where Laura turns and you have to shoot Chris Hacket as Ryan. DON'T shoot Chris, this will allow Ryan to die, but Travis and Laura will kill each other. This needs to be done here, because Max will end up surviving due to Chris living.
You'll Earn: Mutually Assured
STEP 7: Everyone Infected playthrough
This will be your third major playthrough, and it'll be combined with collecting all the clues as well. You don't have to start at the very beginning, but you will have to use Chapter Select and load up Chapter 2, so it's still most of the game. If you had separate saves, for Everyone Lives and Everyone Dies, it doesn't matter which you use here as the infections start at Chapter 2 anyways.
After this you'll earn:
STEP 8: Movie Mode
From the Main menu select Movie Mode and start a movie. This should pop right away.
STEP 9: Clean Up
If you followed along with these steps and the walkthroughs you shouldn't need this, but just in case go back through getting whatever you need.
What Doesn't Kill You…
