Introduction
The Toy Wars DLC was added via a free title update to (already free) The Playroom VR. You can find Toy Wars in the main hub with the other minigames. This DLC requires just a bit more skill to obtain all of the trophies when compared to the main game, but well within the skill set of a regular trophy hunter.

Walkthrough
To obtain the three trophies in this DLC you need to complete three simple tasks, requiring at least 2 playthroughs.

You will likely need 4-5 runs to get the hang of the controls, mechanics, and wave patterns in order to defeat the invasion - especially if playing solo - and to line up a bomb explosion to kill 5 enemies at once.

Step 1: Finish the DLC

Simply play through the level. Getting hit once means you will die, so keep that in mind. I have provided a list of tips in the trophy guide to help you through the invasion.

At the end of this step, you will have earned:

The galaxy is at peace...

And probably Encounter of the block kind

Step 2: Cleanup

You probably got the death trophy making your way through Step 1, but if you didn't you want to get it here. This step is for you to focus on killing five aliens with a single bomb. See that trophy for more information.

By the end of this step, you will have earned:

It's a megablast!

44 trophies ( 33  18  )

  • Well done, you got all trophies in THE PLAYROOM VR! Time to go outside and explore the real world!

“The Playroom Bots had a lot of fun playing with you today. Hopefully you’ll be back to play again someday!”

This holy grail of a trophy is earned once you have obtained all other trophies in The Playroom VR.

  • Fire your first rocket and step into the magical world of VR!

As soon as you calibrate the VR headset and the controller position, you will appear in an empty VR space with the prompt to flick up on the touchpad (). Once you have done so, a rocket will shoot out of your controller, explode, and reveal all of the mini-game worlds. The trophy will unlock shortly after.

  • Win the final battle in Monster Escape (playing as the VR Monster).

As the VR Monster in Monster Escape, you must allow the TV player(s) to reach the end of the chase phase and engage in the defense phase. Once the TV player(s) has finished their transformations, simply have them not attack the monster and wait it out until all the platforms are submerged. If done without taking damage from the items thrown by the TV player(s), this trophy and Float like a butterfly… should unlock.

  • Defeat the VR Monster and save the city in Monster Escape (playing as the TV player).

While playing as a TV player in Monster Escape, you must survive the chase phase, enter the defense phase and take out the monster with the debris provided by the bots in the orange halo. Simply have the VR Monster stay still and you pelt it with the debris. You’ll know when you’ve won because a cannon will merge from the center platform and blast the monster into the atmosphere. The trophy will unlock once the cannon begins emerging.

  • Destroy every single building and helicopter and win the final battle in Monster Escape (playing as the VR Monster).

While playing as the VR Monster in Monster Escape, you’ll have to use your head to knock over buildings and swat helicopters. This shouldn’t pose too much of a problem. The buildings you must destroy are the ones in close reach, next to the highway you’re plowing your way through. Any other building isn’t counted for the trophy.

The helicopters usually fly right up to your face and shoot at you so they’re very hard to miss unless you are too focused on the TV players and miss them. The two fighter jets that fly past you towards the end of the chase phase do not count towards this trophy. If you have taken out all the buildings and helicopters before reaching the water, the trophy will unlock right before having to headbutt the bridge.

  • Hit both fighter jets at the end of the road in Monster Escape (playing as the VR Monster).

While playing as the VR Monster in Monster Escape, two fighter jets will appear on your upper left and right upon approaching the second-to-last building during the chase phase. The right jet will come faster than the left jet, so attack it first. Make sure to give the jets a direct hit and be sure to actually see them crash. The trophy will unlock once both jets are down for the count.

  • Rescue all VR Bots civilians in Monster Escape (playing as the TV player).

While playing as a TV player in Monster Escape, civilian bots will appear on the highway as you run away from the monster. You do not have to run over them to get them to follow you. However, you must ensure that neither you nor the bots are not hit by the flying debris being produced by the monster’s rampage.

Simply have the VR Monster dodge every building and avoid headbutting helicopters as much as possible for an easy path to the end of the chase phase. The monster cannot avoid running into the overpasses so you’ll have to be on the ready to dodge the debris coming from them. The trophy will unlock once you have snagged all 10 civilians, avoided danger and reach the bridge over the water.

  • Win the final battle without taking any damage in Monster Escape (playing as the VR Monster).

See Rooooaaar! for more details on how to unlock this trophy.

  • Win the game in Cat and Mouse (playing as the VR Cat).

While playing as the VR Cat in Cat and Mouse, simply have the TV player(s) run around while the Cat is out so they can be caught and the Cat can win instantly. Do this twice and the trophy will unlock after winning the second match.

  • Win the game in Cat and Mouse (playing as the TV player).

While playing as the TV player in Cat and Mouse, simply have the VR Cat stay behind the curtain while you collect all of the cheese for the round. Do this twice and the trophy will unlock after winning the second match.

  • Clear the living room in Ghost House.

See We came, we saw… for more details on how to unlock this trophy.

  • Clear the toys room in Ghost House.

See We came, we saw… for more details on how to unlock this trophy.

  • Capture a scary ghost in any Ghost House level.

This trophy is best done in the Attic level. A scary ghost is a ghost that lunges at the player in the VR headset and this is the only ghost that the VR player can see without the help of an outside player. Simply zap the ghost while he’s lunging at you and successfully capture him for the trophy to unlock.

  • Clear the kitchen in Ghost House.

See We came, we saw… for more details on how to unlock this trophy.

  • Clear the attic in Ghost House.

In Ghost House, simply have the outside player(s) call out the locations of the ghosts for the player in the VR headset to capture before the time runs out for each level. With each following level, the amount of ghosts increase but nothing else changes.

Once you’ve complete a level, the trophy will unlock for that level.

  • Clear the Rookie level in Wanted!

In Wanted!, the Rookie difficulty has 10 criminals to apprehend. Simply capture all 10 without losing your lives in order to unlock this trophy.

  • Clear the Sheriff level in Wanted!

In Wanted!, the Sheriff difficulty has 15 criminals to apprehend. Simply capture all 15 without losing your lives in order to unlock this trophy.

  • Stop the music in the end sequence after the saloon blew up (playing as the VR Sheriff).

After the failure scene where a criminal pulls out a bomb and blows up the saloon, you will be standing in the ruins of the saloon. To your left will be the pianist playing tunes. Simply shoot the pianist in the face with your dart and the trophy will pop.

  • Clear the Gunslinger level in Wanted!

In Wanted!, the Gunslinger difficulty has 25 criminals to apprehend. Simply capture all 25 without losing your lives in order to unlock this trophy.

  • Defeat more than 35 baddies in Endless Mode in Wanted!

In the Wanted! mini-game, endless Mode goes on until you lose all three lives. The criminal patterns will be the same as the Gunslinger difficulty until the 26th criminal. After, the game will speed up the timer and switch up criminals’ profiles in random patterns. Capture 36 or more without losing your lives in order to unlock this trophy.

  • Unlocked half the prizes in Mini Bots (playing as the VR player).

See Gatch'em all! for more details on how to unlock this trophy.

  • Blow on the little green helicopter and keep it airborne for 10 seconds in Mini Bots (playing as the VR player).

Inside the Mini Bots mini-game, once you have unlocked the green helicopter, you must blow on it (using your mic) to get it up in the air and keep it airborne. A good trick is to blow on the helicopter to get it up, position your head underneath it as much as possible and blow to keep it up. That way, you have more control. The trophy will unlock after 10 seconds has passed of the helicopter staying airborne.

  • Get all the prizes in Mini Bots (playing as the VR player).

In the Mini Bots mini-game, there are 59 items you must collect in order to unlock this trophy. You’ll need about 90 coins or so before attempting this. The items needed are listed below:

Once you have collected every item, the crane machine will pack itself away and the two sides will join together, unlocking the trophy.

  • Burst the balloon at the end of Robots Rescue (playing alone or with a friend).

At the end of the Robots Rescue level, you will have to jump on a platform and your Mini Bots will jump on as well, inflating a balloon in the background. Once this process is done, you will be able to fling your hero bot at the balloon using the :tp:. Once you have popped the balloon, the trophy will unlock. You’ll have multiple tries to do this, so don’t worry if you miss by accident.

  • Get a total score of at least 350 coins in Robots Rescue (playing alone or with a friend on the TV).

This is best done with two players. In the Robots Rescue, collect every coin you can while avoiding taking damage. Getting damaged results in a loss of coins. Once you’ve reached the end of the level, the balloon you popped will release more coins to collect as well. Simply have 350 coins by the time the level de-materializes to unlock the trophy.

  • Reach the goal with all 20 missing VR Bots in Robots Rescue (TV player required).

While playing Robots Rescue, collect all Mini Bots in one run in order to unlock this trophy. You need two players for this. Check the video for exact locations:

Secret trophies

  • Peek sideways to look at the VR Heroes behind the final bridge in Monster Escape (playing as the VR Monster).

While playing as the VR Monster in Monster Escape, at the end of the chase phase, a bridge will be raised in front of you, sporting a sort of “No VR Monster Allowed” icon. Do not headbutt the bridge. Instead, peek around the bridge at the TV player(s). The trophy will unlock as soon as the TV player(s) are clearly visible in your headset while peeking.

  • Admire the amazing appendage nature gave you in Monster Escape (playing as the VR monster).

This trophy can be a bit touchy. While playing as the VR Monster in Monster Escape, once you have control of the monster, do a complete 180 and look at your tail and body behind you for a small period of time. Make sure you get a really good look because getting the trophy to trigger is iffy. If done correctly, the trophy will unlock either on the spot or at the end of the defense phase.

  • Let the dog lick your face for 5 seconds in Cat and Mouse (playing as the VR Cat).

While playing as the VR Cat in Cat and Mouse, simply peek out of the curtain and stay out of the curtain until Jaws, the VR puppy, comes running out of one of the pet doors. While he is in the room, continue to stay exposed until he comes over to jump on you. Once he’s on you, he will start licking your screen. Let him lick until the trophy pops.

  • Use your nose to push a hiding mouse away (playing as the VR Cat).

While playing as the VR Cat in Cat and Mouse, have one of the TV players run up to the curtain and hide right in front of it. Once they are planted, peek out of the curtain and use your face to push the can as far away from the curtain as you can. The trophy will unlock after a good nudge is given.

  • Caught the last mouse with only one piece of cheese left to grab! (playing as the VR Cat).

While playing as the VR Cat in Cat and Mouse, let the TV player(s) collect all but one piece of cheese. Once there is one piece remaining, have the TV player(s) run around while you peek out of the curtain in order to let you capture them. The trophy will unlock upon completion of the round with one cheese remaining.

  • Fail to capture all ghosts within the time limit in any of the rooms in Ghost House.

While playing any room in Ghost House, simply allow the time limit to run out during a game. Once you are thrown out of the Ghost House, the trophy will unlock.

  • Use the interphone before entering the saloon in Wanted! (playing as the VR Sheriff).

In the Wanted! mini-game, before entering the saloon, you will be prompted to click the touchpad to open the doors. Do not open them. Instead, look to your left and you will see the interphone. While keeping the light of the DualShock 4 in view of the camera, reach your controller over to hit the button on the interphone and speak into your mic. If done successfully, the interphone will show a waveform, accompanied by the echo of your voice in squeaky form and the trophy will unlock.

  • Looked up and got pooped on by the vulture in Wanted! (playing as the VR Sheriff).

In the Wanted! mini-game, before opening the latch on the front gate, look into the sky. If done correctly, you will see the vulture above you and it will drop white poop on your screen inside the headset, earning you the trophy.

  • Blow the smoke coming out of your gun in Wanted! (playing as the VR Sheriff).

Make sure your mic is turned on before attempting this trophy. In Wanted!, after shooting your gun during a round, simply put the tip of the gun close to the headset and blow into your mic. The smoke should clear up and the trophy will unlock.

  • Look at your BotCop partner behind you at the beginning of Wanted! (playing as the VR Sheriff).

In the Wanted! mini-game, before opening the latch on the front gate, turn about 150 degrees to your left and your BotCop partner will on the back of the police car. Once he gestures at you, the trophy will unlock.

  • Make the huge outdoor monster look down at you in Mini Bots (playing as the VR player).

While playing Mini Bots, you must get the VR Monster from the crane machine. Once you have and it appears outside your dome area, simply look up at it until it looks down at you, earning you the trophy.

  • Look at a VR Bot behind you and make it wave back (playing as the VR player).

While playing Mini Bots, as soon as you are able to, turn around and look at the bots behind you. Wait until one of them waves at you and the trophy will unlock.

  • Punch the UFO player in Robots Rescue (playing as the VR player).

In Robots Rescue, while playing as the VR player, you must have the TV player get close enough to where you can use your character to punch him. Once the TV player has been punched, the trophy will unlock.

  • Throw a projectile at the VR Player's face in Robots Rescue (playing as the TV player).

In Robots Rescue, while playing as the TV player, you must vacuum up a box and fling it at the VR player’s face. Use the motion controls on the Dualshock 4 to aim and a targeting reticle will appear on the VR player’s face. Shoot and once the box makes contact, the trophy will unlock.

  • Rescue the lost VR Bot down by the cliff in Robots Rescue (playing as the VR Player).

See Super Rescue Team! for more details on how to unlock this trophy.

DLC: Toy Wars

3 trophies

    Secret trophies

    • Defeated the alien invasion in Toy Wars.

This trophy can be done solo, but gets much easier when you have 1-3 local co-op partners to help out. In co-op, the VR player mans a chain gun while the TV players pilot robot mechs. The monsters will come at you in waves and take a bit to make it to you. One hit to you and you're done. See below the tips section for a video walkthrough.

      Tips:

Small blue aliens and flying yellow ones may pose the biggest threat
Despite their size and small number of hits needed to destroy them, they pose a threat since they are easy to miss, fast, and can come in multiples.

Predict where a shot will land and move on
There can be a slight delay between when you aim your shot and when the monsters are actually destroyed. When you swivel away your ammunition trail continues for a brief moment so when you've almost destroyed one concentrate fire on another with the assumption that the remaining bullets will connect. If not you can always swivel your gun back to finish the job.

Shoot one way, but look another
If you are shooting at a large cluster of guys, no sense staring at them the whole time. Watch your peripherals and flanks to make sure a more imminent threats aren't approaching elsewhere, then adjust your aim or priorities if needed.

The battery pack power up is useful, but not necessary
About 3/4th the way through a little battery runs around the floor. If you have clear shots at it, shoot it a few times to collect it. However, you don't want to ignore the aliens and fail just because you were going for the power up.

      Boss fight
Compared to some of the more intense waves earlier, the boss isn't too hard. Concentrate on the enemies it drops while spraying a few rounds up at it to cause it to eventually crash and then lay into it. Repeat a few times to stop the alien invasion.

Don't let go of the trigger
      You have unlimited ammo.

    • Lost to the alien invasion in Toy Wars.

You will get this without trying. Getting hit just once in Toy Wars means you're dead.

    • Destroyed a bomb, taking out 5 enemies along with it in Toy Wars.

This may take a bit of luck. The enemies come at you in relatively the same way each time, with some slight differences. Bombs show up halfway through the level, and you may want to wait for a few aliens to spawn in order to blow up five. When you get to the parts with bombs, you may want to aim a little higher so you don't accidentally blow them up right away. The trophy may also cause you to be a martyr in order to get it, so don't be afraid to die every once in a while in order to get it.
