The Last Blade 2 was originally released by SNK in the late 90's for arcades and home consoles such as the Dreamcast and PlayStation. After nearly two decades: SNK has decided to let a new generation try out this classic by releasing an emulated version of it for the PS4 and Vita with some help from a new developer, Code Mystic.
While SNK fighters have a reputation for difficult platinum's/100%'s, TLB2 is an exception: you'll only need to play through arcade mode with every character and defeat 30 opponents in Time Attack mode to earn your 100%.
Input Notation:
Input notation is used in fighting games like Guilty Gear, Persona and Blazblue to convey combos and inputs in an organized fashion, since writing down move names isn't visually appealing. In this guide I will reference moves in this format a few times, if you don't know how to read it, reading input notations is as follows:
1 = Left + Down
2 = Down
3 = Right + Down
4 = Left / Back
5 = Neutral / No input
6 = Right / Forward
7 = Left + Up
8 = Up
9 = Right + Up
J = Jump

TLB2 functions very similar to the "Samurai Showdown" series, as it has identical control functions and commands. Because I will refer to commands within the game often, here is the default button configuration:
= Weak Slash (WS)
= Strong Slash (SS)
= Kick (K)
= Repel (R)
= K + R
= SS + K + R
= WS + SS
= SS + K
= Provocation (Taunt)
Repel is used to parry attacks, but throws cannot be parried. A throw can be executed by using the , but their range requires you to be very close to your opponent in comparison to other fighters.
Another important mechanic of the game is that after you select a character, you will be prompted to choose between "Power" or "Speed" type. As the name would imply, Power type allows you to deal more damage: at the cost of not being able to use "chain combos". Speed type allows you to use chain combos at the cost of reduced damage. I would highly suggest that unless you're very familiar with the game, you choose Speed type. Chain combos are simple combos that are activated by pressing "WS + SS + K" (one after the other, not all together): and this will make your time with clearing Arcade Mode with each character much easier.
These are the general mechanics of the game that I feel are important for newcomers to know before playing the game, if you want a more advanced understanding of the game: I would suggest going to Shoryuken's wiki page to obtain more information.
Secret Characters:
There are two secret characters in the game, but to earn the 100% you will only need to about know one of them. While at the character select screen, go over to Kaede (top left) and press the following button sequence: " x10,
x5,
x4". If you did this correctly you would have heard an audio confirmation, and with this you have unlocked Koryu. I will go over why Koryu is important later in the guide, but he is necessary for Sheer Folly! and a character I would highly recommend you use while attempting Not bad, is it? and SNK.

TLB2 only has offline trophies that require you to experience the main two components of offline mode, Story mode and Time Attack mode.
Step 1: Arcade Playthroughs
In order to unlock a majority of the trophies for TLB2, you must play and beat Arcade (Story) mode with all of the playable characters on the character select screen including the secret character Koryu. You must also complete Arcade Mode without using a continue to unlock Just a moment!. Arcade Mode is very forgiving though, not only can you set the CPU to Easy by going to "Options -> Game Options -> Level" (set it to Level 1) but you also have an unlimited amount of continues and each time you continue you your opponent starts off with the amount of health that they had prior to your continue.
At the end of this step, you will have earned the following trophies:
I'm gonna show ya my real power...!
Flounder under the moonlight...
This is also destiny
Powerful victory!
Nailed it!
I'll stick to my beliefs, no matter what...
This is the power of justice
No interest to the weaks
Be ready for your death!
Heaven forbid...
Have good dreams!
I must accomplish it!
I can still do it...!
Living nightmare...
Extreme pleasure...!
I am going to slash you down...!
Sheer folly!
Just a moment!
Step 2: Time Attack Playthrough
Time Attack tasks you with defeating as many opponents as you can within 90 in game seconds. In order to obtain all of the Time Attack related trophies, you must defeat 30 opponents within one game of Time Attack.
At the end of this step, you will have earned the following trophies:
Not bad, is it?
SNK
