The Humans is a Lemmings-like puzzle game. You control a number of tribesmen and will end up using 4 different tools to help you reach the end goal. There are obstacles, enemy tribesmen, and dinosaurs to worry about. You have a time limit to complete these levels.

This game comes with three versions: Portable (Game Boy), 16-bit (SNES), and 16-bit alternate. The 16-bit alternate version is what I grew up playing on my PC. The differences between the 16-bit and 16-bit alt versions are different menu designs, different level graphics, some minor level differences, and the control scheme. I was actually unaware that the 16-bit alt version was available or else I would have played with that one. But, having played the 16-bit version first, the guide will be based on that version. I also found the control scheme for the 16-bit to play nicer than the 16-bit alt version. However, the 16-bit alt version is a bit closer to that of the Portable version. I leave it up to you to decide which you want to play with.

Step 1: Play the Portable version on Easy for 10,000 points
You will need to get a score of 10,000 points in order to get High score (Portable) trophy_gold.png  which requires you to play at least 9 levels in a row. While you are going for this trophy, you will naturally earn a few other trophies for completing levels and using tools.

In this step you will earn:
The start of a journey (Portable) trophy_bronze.png
The real hero (Portable) trophy_bronze.png
A dark offering (Portable) trophy_silver.png
Pyromaniac (Portable) trophy_silver.png
Get them extinct (Portable) trophy_gold.png
High score (Portable) trophy_gold.png

Step 2: Play the necessary individual levels
You will need to play through Level 6 in under 30 seconds, complete level 14, and finish Level 28 on each difficulty. You can use level select for these.

In this step you will earn:
Speedy caveman (Portable) trophy_gold.png
Halfway ice age tea (Portable) trophy_bronze.png
Easy party (Portable) trophy_bronze.png
Normal party (Portable) trophy_silver.png
Hard party (Portable) trophy_gold.png

Step 3: Play the first and last levels in the 16-bit version
The 16-bit version has only two trophies for levels which are the first and last level. You can use level select to get straight to the final level. In the final level, you will be able to earn some of the trophies naturally and some you can farm using saves.

In this step you will earn:
The start of a journey (16-bit) trophy_bronze.png
Sticks and stones (16-bit) trophy_bronze.png
Light it up (16-bit) trophy_bronze.png
Rope for hope (16-bit) trophy_bronze.png
Open the way (16-bit) trophy_silver.png
Time to roll (16-bit) trophy_silver.png
Make them pay (16-bit) trophy_gold.png
Get them extinct (16-bit) trophy_gold.png
Evolution (16-bit) trophy_gold.png

Step 4:
You will need to earn a couple more miscellaneous trophies through level select - one for riding a pterodactyl and one for rescuing 5 tribesmen.

In this step you will earn:
Let's take a ride (16-bit) trophy_silver.png
No one left behind (16-bit) trophy_gold.png

From the main menu screen for the 16-bit version, go left and enter Level Code JDPJNK. Complete the level to earn this trophy. See the video below for the solution. The time limit on this level can be rather tight -  if you make mistakes or don't know what you're doing, you will have to retry the level.

You can save scum to earn a few of the trophies much easier during this level. The save system can be accessed in the quick menu by pressing l2.png + r2.png. You should save at the following points:
    • At the start of the level - while selecting the witch doctor, turn a tribesman into a wheel. You will not need the wheel for this level, but it is the most simple way to get a wheel and unlock Time to roll (16-bit) trophy_silver.png .
    • Before climbing up the first ladder - in case you accidentally get killed by the enemy tribesman and lose the spear.
    • After dodging the spear - you can use this spear to kill the enemy tribesman, load your save, and repeat until you earn Make them pay (16-bit) trophy_gold.png .
    • After getting up to the T-Rex - you can let it eat you, you will not lose the spear and you will end up out of harm's way. Use the spear to kill the T-Rex, load your save, and repeat. until you earn Get them extinct (16-bit) trophy_gold.png .
