Introduction:
Super Street Fighter IV is the upgraded version of the previous Street Fighter IV. The game offers new modes, balance changes and much more than any fighting game fanatic can ask for. Achieving the in this game is a HUGE accomplishment and you may find yourself playing this game for a LONG TIME trying to complete everything. Even Veteran players will still have to take the time to do various things.
Arcade Mode:
During your Arcade mode step you will be defeating arcade mode with all 35 characters, if you are having trouble playing as some of the characters refer to "All Clear" for additional help. When playing arcade mode you ideally want the following settings (unless the specific trophy method says otherwise):
- Rounds to win: 1
- Time: 99 Seconds
All of these trophies require you AT LEAST to be on Medium Difficulty. Try to knock out "Long Time No See" and "Speed Freak" right away to avoid having to play arcade mode too many more times then you already need to. You can earn the following trophies from this step:
Clear Headed
All Clear
Herculean Effort
Hard Times
Long Time No See
Rival Schooled
Speed Freak
Also if you wish to you can knock out one of the "online" related trophies right now as well. When doing "All Clear" or "Rival Schooled" for instance you can turn "Fight Request" on and you can face opponents online. You can have a friend search for you while you are doing this and you can have the settings set to:
- Rounds (Best of): 1
- Timer: 30
If you don't have a boosting partner however you aren't going to find opponents with this setting since a lot of the players online are regular SSF IV players, if you want to have a better chance at finding an opponent an ideal setting to have would be:
- Rounds (Best of): 3
- Timer: 99
The trophy you can unlocking doing this is Quarter Up. Once it is unlocked you can turn the Fight Request off so no one interrupts your progression with the Arcade Mode trophies.
Trial Mode:
This will probably be the longest step in the game for you, the Trials of Super Street Fighter IV involve A LOT of timing and throws combos with a small amount of frames. Frames can be described as the small amount of time in-between hits that you have to continue your combo and by time i mean MILLISECONDS not regular seconds. On screen it might not look hard however it really is when you are put behind the controller. Here are some links that may aid you in doing these trials:
VesperArcade - Super Street Fighter IV Trials: A Youtube user by the name of VesperArcade who does videos for all sorts of things fighting game related, in his channel not only does he display how he did each trial with a display of his fightstick, few of them he also displayed doing it with a normal controller.
The "How to do this trial" Topic: It may involve a little manual searching or use of the "Search This Thread" bar to find out other peoples inputs to questions on how they did a certain trial and see if the same method works for you.
Here are the following trophies involved with these trials:
Good Start
Trail of Trials
Trial Athlete
During this step you can also unlock 2 mini trials known as bonus stages that you unlock from arcade mode that both have a trophy correlating with it. Here are the following trophies that correlate with the bonus stages:
Oh! My Car!
Barrel of Laughs
Playstation Network:
PSN has a variety of trophies that may look hard but because everything is easily boostable then it has become just a timing consuming step. You have to win 10 matches in a row on both ranked and player matches, you need to win 100 matches in total and play 300 matches overall and much more. Use text chat with your boosting partner to communicate when you are boosting rank match related trophies and help you match up with each easier otherwise you can easily do everything else in player matches. Here is a list of the following trophies that can be unlocked during this step as well as sub sections for where you can unlock them:
Ranked Match Related:
First Timer
Threepeat
Fivepeat
Moving On Up
Now You C Me...
Tenpeat
From C to Shining C
Player Match Related:
Road to Victory
Battle Master
Worldly Warrior
Keep on Truckin'
Three For The Road
Legendary Fighter
Bring it on!
Endless Ten
Player Match Related (Team Battles):
Team Player
Team Mate
Teamworker
Misc. Related:
Replayer
Endless Lobbyist
Team Lobbyist
Refer to the respective trophies for more information. If you need a boosting partner please refer to this thread: Trophy Boosting Thread
Misc. Trophies (Mop Up):
During this step you will be unlocking in-battle trophies as well as the remaining Icon and Titles you need. You shouldn't need most of these however if you do need a good amount of them then a good mode to get rid of them in is Versus mode if you have a second controller otherwise find someone in the Trophy Boosting Thread to assist you. Here's a list of the trophies that could be part of your mop up step:
Fashion Plate
Dan the Man
Entitled
Iconoclast
Special Movement
EXtra! EXtra!
Super, Man!
Ultra, Man!
It Takes Focus
Superior Super
Ultimate Ultra
Sunspotter
Absolute Perfection

Arcade Edition DLC:

- Online Trophies: 1
- Offline Trophies: 5
- Price: 14.99
Effective June 7th 2011 when you insert a copy of Super Street Fighter IV into the disc drive you will be prompted to install its latest title update which is needed if you wish to purchase the Arcade Edition Patch. They're will also be a free update kit for online matchmaking and spectating purposes but it will not give you anything that you can earn a new trophy off of.
Upon downloading the Arcade Edition update you will notice small difference within the main menu.
As you can see there is now a small logo indicating which version of the game you are currently running. With this change you can now unlock the trophies from the downloadable content and play the game under Arcade Edition settings. If by the off chance you do want to switch back you head to your Options menu and select change version.
After the version change you will notice a change in the logo, instead of a Gold SSFIV AE logo you will have a Silver SSFIV logo.

As far as anything trophy related, the Arcade Edition DLC does not effect any of it except for "From C to Shining C" if you had an progress for this trophy already and do not wish to lose that you can always revert back to the pre-DLC settings to continue that otherwise you must start from scratch. You would expect the trials to change at the very least however they wasn't any new challenges added with this DLC so if you were to enter Trial mode it wouldn't automatically toggle the game into the SSFIV mode.
Arcade Mode (Arcade Edition):
During this step of the Arcade Edition DLC you must clear Arcade mode on medium or higher with each of the DLC characters and finish it without using a continue as well as meet the requirements to face Evil Ryu and Oni. Unless you are confident in your SSFIV AE skills i would hold off on facing Evil Ryu and Oni until after completing Arcade Mode with each of the DLC characters and instead try to face them using other characters you are comfortable with. During this step for any trophy you are going after you want to have the following settings:
- Rounds (Best of) : 1
- Timer: 99
With the rounds set to best of 1 it makes it easier clearing all the rounds for the individual trophies for completing it with each character and also reduces the requirements to face Evil Ryu and Oni. During this step i highly advise having a second controller in hand and ready to use in case you are about to lost then you can press on that second controller to save yourself. Because you can't use continues you can't use Zangief or switch to a character you are comfortable with when going for the individual trophies so look under each individual trophy for tips on using that characters as well as tips for defeating Evil Ryu and Oni under their respective trophies. You can earn the following trophies in his step:
The Awakening
Birth of the Oni
Just Enough!
Up to Snuff
Overwhelming Power
Transcendent
Online Mode (Arcade Edition):
This step is relatively simple and takes no effort at all opposed to the previous step. Upon entering the main menu you can easily earn your first trophy by press and from there selecting a new title and icon from the SSFIV AE selection and then playing in a match online.
The next trophy you only have to go to the leaderboards and look for someone with a high BP (at least 3000 BP is good enough) and select there name, from there press to follow them and earn your trophy. During this step you can earn the following trophies:
Prep Time
New Threads
Conclusion:
Super Street Fighter IV is by far the best fighting game to date, no other game as gotten so much attention in tournaments than this game. The trophies given with it are brutal but if you can step up and get the then it is a game you can brag about. It'll take time but when you are done you should also be a polished player of the game.

Introduction:
Welcome to Ultra Street Fighter IV, the 4th expansion of Street Fighter IV to date! This expansion features 5 new playable characters, 6 new stages, various character tweaks, new online modes, new costumes, new gameplay mechanics, and a lot more. This DLC is huge in terms of what it brings to the game, and you may want to take the time to look at some of the new material brought to the game because they can be very useful in forming a battle strategy. If you are wondering if this DLC will reset your progress on the main game trophy From C to Shining C, you can be assured that it does not. A new set of Battle Points have been added to Ultra, but the Battle Points from Super Street Fighter IV & Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition still remain. Remember that if you are unsure of what version you are playing, look at the icon on the right side of the main menu and it tells you what version of Street Fighter IV you are currently on. As for the trophies in this expansion, they are very easy to complete and involve only the Arcade mode and Online Ranked matches. Feel free to do them in whatever order you see fit.
New Mechanics:
So if you are new to the Ultra expansion of Street Fighter IV, there are some mechanics not found in the original game that can largely affect the way you form your strategies and play the game.
Ultra Combo Double - This is a new ultra combo selection for every character. Before, you had the option of choosing between 1 of 2 ultra combos for a character to use. Now, you have a 3rd option that allows you to use both of them in a single fight! The Ultra Combo Double allows you access to both ultra combos during a fight at the cost of reduced damage. This gives more versatility and grants you more options during the fight. With the reduced damage, I find the ultra combo to be about equal to the super combo. That is still good considering how each uses a different gauge, so if your super combo hasn't built up yet, your ultra combo might be available as a substitute, or vise versa.
Red Focus Attack - In the original Street Fighter IV, you were introduced to the Focus Attack which is done by holding the MP and MK buttons (). This move could absorb a little damage and crumple your opponent if landed, making them open to other moves. Ultra Street Fighter IV has added the Red Focus Attack which is similar to the Focus Attack except it is capable of withstanding more hits without being interrupted. This does not mean it cannot be interrupted though as Guard Breaks and Throws still work as an effective countermeasure. To perform a red focus attack, you must hold the LP + MP + MK buttons (
). If your character glows red during the move, you know you have done it correctly.
Delayed Standing - With the Ultra expansion of Street Fighter IV, players can now control the timing of their character's recovery after a hard knockdown move. By pressing any 2 buttons when knocked down, you can delay your time getting up which can mess up your opponent's offensive and allow you some breathing room.
Step 1: Arcade Mode & Versus
The steps for this expansion are interchangeable, and can be done in any order you choose. I say to start with Arcade because it allows you some practice time with the new characters against the CPU before you go on to face online opponents, so for this DLC, you'll have to go through the Arcade mode 5 times, once with each of the new characters. I will go through some tactics and moves in their respective trophies, but it will be useful to have a 2nd controller available if you are not too skilled at the game. This is because the trophies require that you use no continues, and you can hit start on the second controller if you find yourself on the losing end of a fight. For the fastest way to complete Arcade mode, have your settings to:
Rounds: 1
Timer: 99
Difficulty: Medium
These are the minimum requirements if you want the trophy to unlock. This should not prove to be too difficult, but you may struggle a bit if you are a novice to Ultra Street Fighter IV. After you clear the Arcade trophies, go into Versus mode. You'll need to defeat a CPU on the hardest difficulty for the Good old times trophy. Just go into Versus, select a character that was available in the original version of Street Fighter IV, and beat them. Make sure you are set to the Ultra Street Fighter IV version of the character, and your opponent is set to the original Street Fighter IV version. Set your handicap to 100%, and your opponent to 0%. Now hit your opponent once, and you win. This step should earn you the following trophies:
For the Utopia!
The world is my stage
Toxic Beauty
Giant Attack
A dish best served Cold
Good old times
Step 2: Online
If you did the Arcade Mode first as I recommended, you may be a little more familiar with the 5 new characters so that you can face some online opponents without getting obliterated. First, go into Network Battle and select Ranked Matches. Only Ranked Matches count for these trophies, not Player Matches. Try to go for a win with one of the new characters while using both of your ultra combo specials. This will knock out 2 birds with 1 stone. After you accomplish that, go into Team Battle and try to get a win with a team of 4 players. This may prove difficult since this mode is practically dead, so you can try and form a group in the Trophy Boosting Thread (Make sure to follow the Boosting Thread rules). After this step, you should have earned:
Double Feature
Ultra Effective
All For One
Conclusion:
Ultra Street Fighter IV is huge expansion that has so much to offer, and practically turns Street Fighter IV into a whole new game. With all the new mechanics and features, you'll have tons of fun experimenting with characters, forming different battle strategies, playing various modes, and more. Ultra Street Fighter IV is a must have for any real fighting game fan. It has so much to offer and so much to do, you'll find yourself coming back and playing it again and again. If you manage to 100% this brute of a game, DLC and all, you should be very proud of yourself as it is no easy task.
