Super Night Riders is an arcade racer like Super Hang-On where you need to hit checkpoints before the timer runs out. Graphically it’s not exactly anything to write home about, the wheels of your bike don’t even move, but the settings of the stages with its colorful surroundings make it okay. Trophy wise you’re looking at a short game but how hard the platinum will be is fully dependent on skill. All trophies but one are very easy. The one hard trophy requires you to race all available courses in one sitting which makes up for about 16 minutes of virtually perfect racing. You can afford to make maybe one or two small mistakes but that’s it. Still, if you enjoyed the old arcade racers back in the day this is actually not a bad game and quite manageable with a bit of practice. Happy trophy hunting!

Step 1 – Play through all stages

From the main menu pick ‘Races!’ then ‘Classic’. The first option will be ‘Courses’ but I recommend starting with the second option ‘Stages’ because these are a bit easier and much better suited to learn the ropes of the game. There are six different stages to beat, each in a different location and consisting of 6 checkpoints. The idea is that you race 24 ingame hours in each location starting in the morning, then afternoon, late afternoon, dusk, evening, night, and dawn. Although that sounds a tad long you can actually beat a stage in under 3 minutes so it’s not much to worry about. The six stages are all separate so they can be beat one after another. Although the stages do get progressively harder this step shouldn’t prove too hard. The best tip I can give you is to never brake, but instead let go of the gas for a second when you need to slow down a bit.

In this step you will obtain the following trophies:

  • 1st Stage Cleared
  • Forrest Stage Cleared
  • Desert Stage Cleared
  • City Stage Cleared
  • Canyon Stage Cleared
  • Valley Stage Cleared
  • Hanami Stage Cleared

Step 2 – Play through all courses

Now it’s time to take on the six slightly harder courses one by one and then onto the grand finale. Courses are basically a mash-ups of the stages you did in step 1, so you should be a bit familiar with them already if you’ve finished that previously. The first six stages again shouldn’t pose too many problems but the last course will have you do all six in one go, which is actually pretty tough. You can’t afford a lot of mistakes to make it to the end and the last 2 courses are especially hard. Note that the other racers will always spawn in the exact same spot each try, so you can anticipate a lot by memorizing as much as you can. For more tips please refer to the trophy guide below.

In this step you will obtain the following trophies:

  • Course 1 Cleared
  • Course 2 Cleared
  • Course 3 Cleared
  • Course 4 Cleared
  • Course 5 Cleared
  • Course 6 Cleared
  • Course 1 to 6 Cleared

Step 3 – Miscellaneous

In this last step you clear the remaining trophies although there’s a good chance you've gotten most of these through natural play already. Unless you’re an expert racer you should have the trophies for retrying a stage and retrying and then passing a stage and the same goes for getting a max score and passing another racer really close. The only trophy you’d have to go out of your way for is the Mélomane trophy which requires you to listen to all the different music tracks. Please refer to the trophy guide below for a specific description on how to obtain all of these trophies.

  • Mélomane
  • Hang On!
  • Hang On and Pass!
  • Max Score
  • That was Close!

  • You need to clear the course 1 to 6 in normal mode.

From the main menu pick ‘Races!’, then ‘Classic’, then ‘Courses and select ‘Course 1 to 6’. Beat this course to obtain the trophy.

This is the only hard trophy in the game and it requires you to complete course 1 to 6 in one go. There isn’t a whole lot of leeway to make mistakes because the final 2 courses are tough and you’ll need a bit of extra time to get to the end. Try to build up some of that extra time in the first four courses, the first and second courses are particularly easy.

The best tip I can give you is to memorize where the other racers spawn as much as you can because they always spawn in the exact same location. Another one is to never use the brakes because they slow you down too much. Instead, just let go of the gas for a (split) second, which should be enough to avoid danger or to not understeer in the corners. It helps to save a bit of time to always take the inside of the corners as much as you can and on top of that it also gives you a bit more maneuverablity to avoid other racers.

  • You need to clear the forest stage in normal mode.

From the main menu pick ‘Races!’, then ‘Classic’, then ‘Stages’ and select the Forest stage. Beat this stage to obtain the trophy. For some tips please refer to the Course 1 to 6 Cleared trophy.

From the main menu pick ‘Races!’, then ‘Classic’, then ‘Stages’ and select the City stage. Beat this stage to obtain the trophy. For some tips please refer to the Course 1 to 6 Cleared trophy.

  • You need to clear the canyon stage in normal mode.

From the main menu pick ‘Races!’, then ‘Classic’, then ‘Stages’ and select the Canyon stage. Beat this stage to obtain the trophy. For some tips please refer to the Course 1 to 6 Cleared trophy.

  • You need to clear the valley stage in normal mode.

From the main menu pick ‘Races!’, then ‘Classic’, then ‘Stages’ and select the Valley stage. Beat this stage to obtain the trophy. For some tips please refer to the Course 1 to 6 Cleared trophy.

  • You need to clear the hanami stage in normal mode.

From the main menu pick ‘Races!’, then ‘Classic’, then ‘Stages’ and select the Hanami stage. Beat this stage to obtain the trophy. For some tips please refer to the Course 1 to 6 Cleared trophy.

Secret trophies

  • You need to reach your first checkpoint.

As the description says you simply need to hit a checkpoint to obtain this. The trophy can’t be missed as it will pop upon completion of your first checkpoint, which you’ll be doing a lot while working towards your platinum.

  • You need to check out all the music tracks.

This trophy requires you to listen to all the different music tracks, of which there are eight in total. While riding you can toggle the different music tracks with and . Simply cycle through all of the tracks to get this trophy to pop.

  • You need to keep trying after a game over.

It’s very likely you will get this trophy naturally, but in case you’re a born racer and haven’t obtained it you will need to fail a stage and then retry it. The trophy will pop as soon as you re-enter the same race.

  • You need to keep trying and pass the stage you previously failed on.

Same as the trophy before this, it’s very likely you will get this trophy naturally. If you haven’t obtained it you will need to fail a stage and then retry it, but this time you actually need to beat the stage as well.

  • You need to get a score of 75K in one second.

This trophy sounds much harder as it actually is and almost certainly will come without trying. The scoring system is a bit weird in this game. You get a score every second you’re riding and the amount depends on your speed. When you’re at top speed (315 km/h) you get a score of 50,000 every second. When you make a close pass on another racer you get an extra 5,000 for a short amount of time, but I’ve never had enough racers close enough to bump the score up to 75,000 by clean passes. Instead if you pass another racer in a corner and sidescrape it you get a bonus score of 25,000 right away so as long as you were driving at top speed the trophy will pop immediately then.

  • You need to pass near a rival without crashing.

To get this trophy to pop you need to make a clean pass, but it has to be close to the other racer. This trophy is basically unmissable as you will pass a lot of racers on your way to the platinum.
