Introduction
Lace up your bowling shoes and get your playing cards ready! Strike Solitaire is a fun little Vita game that mixes, you guessed it, Bowling and Solitaire. The objective of the game is to get a strike on each of the 10 Frames on 24 lanes (total of 240 Frames). You’ll be matching pairs to clear the board. You get two turns to clear the board of all cards. Clear it in one turn for a strike. Clear it in two for a Spare. Clear all 24 Lanes with all Strikes to earn the 100%.
Basic Tips:
- You can restart any Frame via the Pause Menu, though the 10th Frame of each Lane which requires you to get 3 Strikes. If you restart in the middle of the 2nd or 3rd round, it will start you back at the 1st.
- You can reselect any already completed Frame in the Junior Lanes to replay, but not the Pro Lanes. The Pro Lanes will only let you choose the first Frame of the Lane or the next un-played Frame. If you want to replay an already finished Pro Frame, you’ll have to start from the beginning. For instance, if you finished Frame 3 of Pro Lane 10 with a score of 8 and moved on to play Frame 4, you’ll have to start back at Frame 1 and play through the Frames again until you get to the third to replay for a Strike.
- You’ll get two turns for each Frame with the exception of the 10th Frame. Like bowling, you’ll have to get 3 strikes in 3 turns to complete this.
- With that being said, save your power-ups for the 10th Frames. That way if you are stuck, you don’t have to start over from the 1st turn. If you get stuck on the 1st turn, just restart the Frame. (Note that the exceptions for this are the Silver Pin and Gold Pin trophies as you may need Power-ups to complete these.
- Spend the coins on the extra discard piles. They come in handy in later levels that have minimal face up cards at the start.
- Some of the cards have power-ups, extra coins and 1 Instant Strike tile. There are two power-ups: Shuffle (straightforward. Reshuffles the cards on the playing table only – does not shuffle your discard pile with those) and the Joker (turns any card into a wild card). The Instant Strike tile is random and not on every Frame. You won’t even know you hit it until the Frame clears with a Strike. They appear in both Junior and Pro Lanes.
- It is recommended that play the cards on the table before playing the cards in your deck/discard piles (if you have 3 Queens showing – 2 on the table and 1 in the pile – match the two on the table first). This way you have more cards to filter through should you have to Shuffle or use a Joker card.
Walkthrough
Step 1: Play through all Junior Lanes while going for Strikes.
If you do not get the Strikes on these lanes, you can go back and select whichever Frame you have missed via Lane/Frame select. You'll want to save your power-ups for the 10th Frame of each Lane and for Silver Pin and Gold Pin, as you may need Power-Ups to get these (see trophy descriptions for details). If you get stuck on Lanes 1-9, restart the frame via the Pause Menu, don’t waste the power-ups here. Buy the additional Card Slots as soon as you can afford them.
After this step, you will have earned:
-
Bronze Pin
-
Silver Pin
-
Gold Pin
-
Master's Kit
-
Junior Talisman
-
Juniors Cup
-
Juniors Trophy
Step 2: Play through all Pro Lanes and get Strikes on all 120 Frames.
Do not move onto the next frame without getting a Strike in the Pro Lanes. Once you move on, you will not be able to replay that Frame again unless you play the Lane from the beginning. If you have to restart, you will have to get a Strike again on every Frame you have already earned it on. As before, restart any Frames 1-9 via the Pause Menu if you get stuck and save those Power-Ups!
After this step, you will have earned:
-
Profis Talisman
-
Profis Cup
-
Gold Bowl
Step 3: Clean-Up and “Throw” Trophies.
Go back and earn a Strike on any Frame you may have missed. You will most likely earn Throw Expert during normal gameplay, but may have to play extra Frames for Throw Master. It will count any coins you earn throughout any gameplay, even if you replay a Frame. There are coins available for Purchase in through PS Store: 10k for $.99, 25k for $1.99 or 100k for $4.99. Any coins bought in the store will count towards the Coin Total.
After this step, you will have earned:
-
Throw Expert
-
Throw Master
