Star Wars: Battlefront is a reboot of the franchise, quite different from the previous Battlefront releases and also different from EA Dice's Battlefield series. You can play online multiplayer and missions against AI, both in first or third person. There are an array of weapons/perks, vehicles and hero/villain power-ups at your disposal. While it doesn't quite have the all features one would hope for, such as a campaign, this is still a fun game that most will enjoy immensely.
The majority of the fun, your game time, and the trophies, will be in online multiplayer. Most of the online trophies will drop naturally (or with relative ease) as you play thru the nine different multiplayer game modes and make your way to rank 50. There are two trophies that will likely be the hardest to come by for many players. The first requires cumulatively trampling 25 rebel scum with an AT-ST, which is a struggle as many are keen on how to take your machine down fast, and run a brave retreat to avoid being trampled. Playing the objective can be hard to get as it requires personally having the most kills overall between both teams in a game of Blast.
There are also a set of missions tacked on to give people the wrong impression that there is a campaign that you can play solo/co-op. The tutorial and training missions are actually nice, as they give you a proper introduction & play area to get comfortable with the many different weapons/perks/vehicles in the game. Then, there are battle missions, similar to Call of Duty's kill confirmed, that will need to be played solo against unforgiving AI on master difficulty. You also need to play survival on master difficulty, which isn't quite as rough being that you can do it in co-op (split screen or online), customize your weapons and perks (once you beat it on hard mode), and there are good camping spots for safe survival.
If you are looking for a quick easy plat, these aren't the trophies your'e looking for, you can go about your business, move along. If you enjoy shooters and/or a Star Wars fanboy, you will have a great time overall and are in for a ton of fun.
The game has touch pad gestures enabled by default. For some of us, this seems to give your character a mind of his own, as he seems to sometimes use perks and do other things on his own at random! I strongly encourage you to go to the game's controller settings menu and disable "touchpad gestures".
Step 1: Tutorial and missions
It is suggested that you start with the tutorial, followed by doing all the training missions, battle missions, and survival missions. The training and survival missions can be done in co-op, either split screen or with a friend online, and it is strongly suggested you do them with a partner to make it easier. While the battle missions can be played against another player for fun/competition, it will not earn you stars/credits or trophy progress, so those are best done solo. You will need to beat all the battle and survival missions on Master difficulty in order to obtain Master.
This will give you a decent understanding of how to play the game in general, get familiar with attacks/perks of the heroes/villains, operate an AT-ST, as well as how to use a landspeeder tow cable to take down a walker. Doing this will also earn you a stockpile of credits, that you can use to purchase weapons and perks in multiplayer.
During this step you will unlock:
- Do… or do not. There is no try
- All right, I'll give it a try
- Together we can rule the galaxy
- Your journey has only started
- Scrap collector
- Safety ain't the point of a joyride
- Best star pilot in the galaxy
- New Recruit
- Impressive. Most impressive.
- Off to a good start
- Survivor
- Master
- On the ball
- Ackbar's Elite
Step 2: Multiplayer
First some info:
-You will need a total of 1,987,000 XP to hit rank 50
-You gain a nice chunk of bonus XP by completing your randomly assigned challenges.
-You will also need to win a match on each of the nine game modes.
-Each of the nine game modes has at least one trophy that must be specifically done on that mode.
-You can unlock better weapons/perks at higher ranks.
-Some game modes are best done with specific weapons.
-The Fighter Squadron game mode does NOT use any purchasable weapons/perks.
This means there are many options on how to approach this, and likely many opinions on the best path. My opinion is that you want to avoid playing as a foot soldier without proper gear, so I suggest playing fighter squadron till you hit rank 15. While playing fighter squadron, be sure to aim for that modes specific trophies (listed later in this step). At rank 15 you will have unlocked and can buy a fair amount of weapons, star cards and a trait! Doing the missions first, as suggested in step#1, will allow you to have built up a nice pile of credits so you can buy more stuff now for multiplayer.
Following that, you should be playing whatever game mode/weapon/hand you need to do your current challenges. Some challenges require using poor weapons or ineffective pickups such as "get 25 kills with the T-47 Airspeeder". If you get a challenge for a mode that you already completed the win and mode specific trophies, and you are particularly not fond of the challenge, you can go into the challenge screen and pay 500 credits to replace it with another random challenge. It can be quite expensive to do so repeatedly, as you will want your credits to buy stuff, so choose wisely.
My suggestion is to work on challenges as they come up, and work on the appropriate trophies for that particular game mode. If you are getting close to rank 50 and you still haven't completed some game mode specific trophy, then concentrate solely on that mode.
Listed below are the nine core game modes, along with the trophies that are mode specific so you can work on them at the same time:
- Fighter Squadron - See Stay on target and Don't get cocky.
- Supremacy - See Hold the line! and Crush them with one swift stroke.
- Walker Assault - See Walker defender and That got him!
- Blast - See Playing the objective.
- Cargo - See What's the cargo?.
- Drop Zone - See I've been waiting for you.
- Droid Run - See "Gonk? Gonk!".
- Hero hunt - See The Force is strong with this one.
- Hero vs Villains - See The power of the Force, Don't underestimate the Force & A tremor in the Force.
Step 3: Clean up
Finish up any trophies you missed before to obtain the Platinum Trophy.

Outer Rim DLC:
Overview:
- Estimated trophy difficulty: 3/10 (Personal opinion)
-
Offline trophies: 1 (1
)
-
Online trophies: 4 (2
, 1
, 1
)
- Approximate amount of time to 100%: 10-15 hours spread over 10 days
- Minimum number of playthroughs: several rounds of Extraction and other game modes (for daily challenges)
- Number of missable trophies: 0
- Glitched trophies: None specifically glitched but some bugs were present after the March Update/Outer Rim DLC launch that could affect trophy progress. These will most likely be gone in a future update. I personally don't experience any problems.
- Does difficulty affect trophies?: No
- Do trophies stack?: No
- Do cheat codes disable trophies?: No cheats available.
The DLC introduces 4 new maps. Two will have you fighting large open areas among the factories of Sullust. While the other two, will have you battling in close quarters within Jabba the Hutt's palace on Tatooine.
As far as unlockables and collectables go, there are 4 new guns (2 pistols, 1 sniper, and 1 rifle), 2 new figures for the diorama that are also playable as a hero or villain (Greedo and Nien Nunb) and 3 new star cards (a shotgun, a poison gas grenade, and an adrenaline boost).
It also introduces one new game mode called Extraction. In Extraction, Rebel forces have entered some of the most dangerous places in the Outer Rim in order to extract a valuable shipment of resources. Now they must bring the shipment to their transport ship before time runs out. The Empire has arrived to stop them from reaching the extraction point.

Step 1: Offline Survival
I would do the offline survival mode first and get those out of the way, as the rest of the trophies could be done simultaneously while playing online multiplayer.
At the end of this step you will have acquired:
A good blaster at your side
Step 2: Multiplayer
First you want to purchase your contracts (with in game credits) from Jabba. Purchase as many as you have money for, as most of them can be done simultaneously. With the contracts now open, go to multiplayer and play rounds of Extraction as you will need to win 10 games in that mode. While playing those games, work on your contracts' challenges and get the necessary kills for the other trophies. After that, you may have to visit and play a variety of online modes to finish off your ten daily challenges.
At the end of this step you will have acquired:
This is a new day, a new beginning
Patience you must have
Greed can be a very powerful ally
No such thing as luck

In addition to the above, you can also get two new hero pick-ups and fly as Luke Skywalker in his Red-Five X-Wing or Darth Vader in his TIE-Advanced fighter. Rogue One: Scarif DLC:
Overview:
- Estimated trophy difficulty: 2/10 (Personal opinion)
- Offline trophies: 0
-
Online trophies: 5 (2
, 2
, 1
)
- Approximate amount of time to 100%: 15-25 hours (Depending on current XP rank and taking advantage of 2x XP or 4x XP opportunities)
- Minimum number of playthroughs: Several games of Infiltration and other game modes.
- Number of missable trophies: 0
- Glitched trophies: None
- Does difficulty affect trophies?: No
- Do trophies stack?: No
- Do cheat codes disable trophies?: No cheats available.
The DLC introduces four new maps. Three of the maps will have you mostly fighting in densely vegetated jungle type locations. While the other one, will have you battling in the space around the planet Scarif in star-fighters. As far as unlockables and collectables go, there are two new Blaster pistols you can unlock. One pistol can be customized into a blaster rifle or a sniper rifle, however, using this 3 way customizable gun will use all your star card slots. The other blaster pistol is like an old west six shooter, with good damage, but a slow reload. There are also two new figures for the diorama that are also playable as a hero or villain (Jyn Erso and Orson Krennic) and one new star card (a sonic Imploder). Another new addition comes in the Fighter Squadron mode as it adds the U-Wing.
The Rogue One Scarif DLC also introduces one new game mode called Infiltration. In Infiltration, Rebel forces try to get the Death Star plans from the Base on Scarif. Meanwhile the Empire's task is stop them from stealing the plan. Lastly, they have increased the level cap to 100. Incentives for reaching these higher XP levels are rewards to customize your in game character with new outfits and looks for the Imperial soldiers and a new shiny trophy.

Step 1: Infiltration and other Multiplayer game modes
First you want to purchase your contracts (with in game credits) from Jabba. Purchase as many as you have money for, as most of them can be done simultaneously. With the contracts now open, go to Rogue One: Scarif DLC multiplayer and play rounds of Blast, Infiltration, Fighter Squadron or whatever comes up, as they cycle through. This will ensure you play on all 4 new maps. Keep in mind you will need to win 10 games in Infiltration. While playing those games, work on your contracts' challenges and get the necessary kills for the other trophies.
At the end of this step you will most likely have acquired:
What will you become?
I never doubted you!
Disturbed tranquility
Step 2: Select Heroes vs. Villains game modes
You most likely did not get many chances to become the new hero or villain in the new modes. Here you will have a better chance to acquire and use them as every other round you get to be one. Make sure to select Krennic. You will need 25 kills with him as it is the only way to unlock the DT-29. However, he also uses that gun so you can just keep playing as him to get 30 kills with it or get 25 then go into any mode and select the gun to use it freely as you see fit.
At the end of this step you will most likely have acquired:
Onwards!
Step 3: Clean up and play any game mode you prefer
Now it's just a matter of cleaning up any kills for weapons, winning 10 games of infiltration (especially if you always got stuck on a bad team not following objectives) and levelling up to 100. Play the mode that you need, the one you like best or just cycle through them all for fun.
At the end of this step you will have acquired:
The circle is now complete
